It is a beautiful, small (45 rooms), cozy, very clean, and inexpensive resort with a large swimming pool. Long-term cooperating employees are like a family. Everyone is respectful and full of willingness to all visitors.
The food (choice of 8 different plates) was very good, we liked everything. Gentlemen taking care of the dining room will not keep you waiting for the beer or soda you are waiting for, and the used plates on your table will not crowd your table for long. The cleaning ladies also do a fantastic job and I can honestly say that the cleaning services of some of the five-star resorts that my family has visited in the past could learn from them.
The sea in this part of Crete was not very friendly and I can add that the whole northern part of Crete is often washed by big waves and stronger winds. On the other hand, the southern part is the complete opposite with the surface almost like a mirror. The east and west shores are also much quieter.
On the main street about a 6-7 min walk, there is a small Diligars market (mainly for groceries) or you can go a kilometer further in Kolymbary is at the crossroads of a larger Inka Supermarket with more choice and better prices. Kolymbara has a large number of restaurants and bars. We highly recommend Amfithea Roof Garden Café Bar Restaurant which is located at the foot of the mountains and offers a nice view of the surroundings.
We recommend renting a car and visiting Elafonissi beach in the southwest and the Paleochora and Sougia communities in the south. Lake Kourna about 40km east of Chania is also worth it.

Firstly I would say that our experience is very mixed and I think this is the worst thing about this hotel, if something is good and nice today it might be awful tomorrow.
Quiet place as this is an adults only, no noise or music.
Enough parking space, enough sunbeds and umbrellas. Staff at reception was nice and helpful. Dinners were delicious.
The worst part is restaurant staff, one day they are friendly another they don't even say hello to you. Unfortunately I suspect this might have to do with weather or not you order more expensive alcohol drinks for dinner or just water. If the latter they are not that friendly. In addition there is no information about drinks being extra charged or prices. There is no menu, you find out the cost only if you ask or when you sign the receipt. This attitude also continues when you are being presented with desert (staff gives you options and then brings it to you)
We've stayed there for a week and 3 times we didn't get the desert at all. After waiting 15 min we just left.
Same unfortunately goes for AC in the room, one day it was working then it wasn't. We asked to get it fixed and it was, but it broke down again. It was 42 degrees during the day during our stay and it was impossible to sleep in the room. We had to open both balcony and our door to the room to get any air inside.
There were some other unfortunately constant bad things:
Breakfast was the same everyday with very little choice, dinners had some changes but generally also poor variety. There is technically a pool bar but it also has limited options. And prices are high for either pool bar snacks or drinks during the dinner. We've been both to Kolymvari and Chania and prices in bars there are lower than at the hotel.
The last thing is the pool. There are 2 pools one shallow and another one is deep, more than 2,6 m at one point (which is nice) however both pools have some kind of blue sediment (probably from the paint?) so if you would like to lie in the shallow pool or if you swim to close to the bottom of the deeper pool, you most probably will end up with some kind of oily blue sediment on you. Which can be removed only with the soap.
The hotel is not very expensive but still even for this price I find those things, especially staff's behavior and not working AC to be unacceptable.
Definitely Not worth it

We had a great holiday here. It's very quiet and relaxing. The staff is the hotel's greatest asset. They do everything they can to make sure that you have a great time. There is a good choice of food for breakfast, make sure you have the bougatsa when it's available, there was also a wonderful chocolate cake some mornings. We missed breakfast on my birthday, but because he knew we loved bougatsa, Giorgos brought us some to our balcony. Michalis, the manager, also gave me a bottle of wine. Thank you so much.

The pool area is very quiet. There are sofas in a shaded area, as well as sunbeds with cushions.

We arrived late at night and emailed beforehand tobask for some water and beer to be put in our room, which they were happy to do. The bar and reception close at 11pm. If you're arriving after that, they leave the key taped to the door. Make sure you don't lock yourself out on your balcony, as we did one evening, as you will need to phone the manager to come back and let you in.
As it was my birthday when we were there, we asked for suggestions for a night away. Manolis/Emmanuel, on reception, recommended Akrogiali Fish Taverna at Korfalonas, which was really lovely.
We ate several evenings at Sto Skouteli and another evening in Afrata at Tis Litsas Tou Kamotata, all lovely meals.
We ate at the hotel one evening but the food wasn't that great, I believe it depends which chef is on that night. Also, the ambience in the evening was lacking.
When we getting ready to leave, I realised I had lost my house door key from home. My husband asked at reception, but although Emmanuel/Manolis had found it a few days earlier, because no-one had asked about it, the other receptionist, Benna(?) hadn't kept it. I can replace the key, but the keyring had sentimental value, and would have liked to get it back. I'm not sure how they deal with other lost property?

Just returned from a lovely relaxing 11 night holiday at this hotel. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms were very clean, good beds. Sea views and garden views. No kettle in room, although I believe if we had asked we could have had one. Breakfast was good. We didnt eat there in the evening, preferring to walk to local restaurants/Tavernas but it smelt good. Pool was lovely and clean and pool towels were supplied for use in hotel and beach which was just at bottom of hotel drive. Area itself was very quiet and laid back. Buses went regularly from main road to Platinas, Aghia Marina and Chania

Cannot fault this hotel. Nicely decorated, regularly maintained and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. We felt very welcomed. Really good food. There is a vegan option also. Good cocktails! Lovely pool with amazing views of the mountains. Very quiet and relaxing. Brilliant location - 15 min walk to Kolymvari along the coastal road and a 10 min walk to the local shop. The beach is a stone’s throw away!

The hotel itself is very nice, staff very helpful. The rooms are very clean, air con works perfectly which is a must as its very hot at the moment. The food is where its contentious and made me give this a 3 star. Breakfast is superb with a full mix of different options, plus the morning chef is very nice. The lunch and evening food i must say is very poor, either undercooked or cold. Pretty sure it's a different chef but it was just disappointing as everythimg else is great.

We booked this break with Groupon and never having done it before we were slightly dubious. Unfortunately just before the holiday I broke my ankle so we were even more concerned.
However I emailed the hotel to ask for a ground floor room, which they gave us and could not have been more helpful. The holiday turned out to be one of our most relaxing holidays. The hotel is beautifully located and looks gorgeous, almost like a spa hotel.
As soon as we arrived the receptionist made us feel relaxed by suggesting we had a welcome drink and went straight into our evening meal ( this was at 9.15pm - imagine this in England !! ) and we could check into our room after dinner. This relaxed feeling continued for the whole week. The staff cannot do enough to please you, especially the manager Elias, who was such a pleasant man , he seems to have the ability to make you feel calm and he has passed this onto all his staff.
There was never any rush with any of the meals which we found very refreshing. Whatever time it was we never had the feeling that the staff wanted you to leave.
The pool is beautiful and again we enjoyed lunch many times there and nothing was too much trouble, we were also given little treats such as a small bowl of icecream each on the house after our meal. After our evening meal we often couldn't manage to eat the sweets on offer but immediately the manager offered us a light alternative of sliced apple with cinnamon, a lovely touch.Food is good with lots of Cretan specialities. Served every night to you not serve yourself.
The room was clean and the maids were lovely too, everyone smiles here !
Overall an excellent stay and we would like to return.
