Quite decent rooms. Soft bed but very flat pillows. Small bathroom, therefore small toilet and sink. Nice view. Small older TV, but good selection of channels. Good tex mex and pizza buffet on Friday. On Saturday we had a venison stew with mashed potatoes and stirred cranberries. The stew had a lot of soup and mushrooms, and little meat. The breakfast was right in the middle of the tree. Slightly poor selection, with a lot of basic toppings. However, the ones they had were very good, and the bread was in a class of its own. The experience itself for a weak 4, but with such a stiff price, (4000 for a weekend.) Then we go down to a 3. The price was without dinner on Saturday.

Somewhat tired hotel, but in relation to the price this is very good. The food is very good, local food of the best quality. The service is very good, really nice staff. The location is very good, easy access. Short distance to ski slopes and hiking terrain. A very good starting point for road trips to Vest-Telemark and Rjukan/Tinn.

Good pizza and good pizza. We ordered 2 pizzas to take home. We were greeted by a nice boy at the reception. We were offered coffee while we waited for the pizza to finish. The pizza was tasty and some of the best we have tasted. Thumbs up The food and service were super

Family of 4 eating lunch. Everyone very happy with their food and impeccable service. Nachos, Easter burger, Austbø Club and children's lasagna. Good portions and very good taste. Fresh ingredients. Quiet and cozy surroundings, even on Easter Eve.

The area is great, the hotel has an amazing view. Camp Vierli is for young skaters, school groups or anyone without great expectation. We didn't like the smell inside the room and on the corridor. The rooms are old, more like a boarding room. Let's just say it was a place where we could sleep for one night.

We were staying in Rauland hogfjellshotell and my 15 year old son wanted to check out camp vierli, a hotel made for skaters and snowboarders.
It was a lot of fun, they actually have a way for you to skate inside the entire hotel, and an outside skate park with roof for the winter. Summer 2012 a new outside skate park is due to open.
This is a great place to stay for active families, its connected by bus with the great terrain park Vierli terrain park. Cheap accomodation as well.

We had gotten a flat tire at midnight and needed a place to sleep, and they were still welcoming! We were so grateful for them and it wasn't too bad of a cost (1,320 NOK for a 4-person room). The fact that the facilities (Wifi, Gameroom, Skatepark, etc.) was included in the cost PLUS breakfast made it definitely worth it. Very nice and helpful staff, as well.

We needed a place to stay for one night just driving trough. This place offer basic accommodation at a reasonable cost. Breakfast was included. It is also possible to get a drinks at the reception. Ample free parking space.
The hotel, or camp as they call themselves, caters to people going there for sports and the mountains, not for luxury. Our room was tiny with a small television (which you do not watch anyway) and a washbasin. Bathrooms and shower are shared between several rooms.
The hotel has specialised to offer facilities for skaters during the summer and I guess snowboarder in the winter. It may been of the skating facility with the best view anywhere.

The Camp Vierli is a great place for a vacation on budget. The place offers standard rooms with and without a bathroom. The beds are good and the premises are very clean.
The staff (mostly Danes!) are just fantastic service minded. It's a pleasure to be there in this atmosphere created by them.
The breakfast is good with a lot of different options, including option to make your own lunch for later ("matpakke"). They also uses butter and Bremykt, so no simple cheap Margarine (thank good for that).
The dinner they serve each day vary and is very good.
Only thing I can complain about was that the warm water was empty at 17:15 (full hotel with a big group from a Red Cross event).
It's great place to have kids. They enjoy all the gaming options available. Ping pong was very popular with our kids. The skate ramp was also great to play on.
Luckily they also serve beer, red- and white wine (only house wine, but ok Quality) for a low amount (50 kr per glass)
Short distance to the ski lift (bus service or own car) and to cross country ski possibilities!
Highly recommend this place. You get value for your money. With great people running the place.

Hi!
We drowe with our own car so I don't know much of public transportation... But try to google this "Visit Rauland". There are also info in english on how to get ther. Tryed to inclued the link, but was not possible.
Think it's an exspresbus from Oslo, it might take some time...
Regarding skis, don't know. We went there for skate boarding in the summertime :-) Hope you will enjoy it, the nature is great!
"If you want a nice view, ask for it, but the best view is probarly towards the skate park... May be some noise there..."Read full review
