A lovely few days in paradise

We loved our stay at Palm Coco Mantra. The staff were amazing and above and beyond with their helpfulness. We loved the room, it had a fantastic balcony overlooking the sea. There was a beach but we didn't get a chance to use it. There was a reef someway out, so the water off the beach was always calm and very shallow. We chose not to eat at the hotel and instead went to Lamai Beach to eat.

Chilling in Samui

We loved this place from the moment we arrived. Staff are fabulous and genuinely friendly and helpful Orn was always happy on the front desk and assisted us with travel, advice, issues and scooter hire. Staff in the restaurant were great as well as cleaners. Thanks also to Bow. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is right on the sea with lovely views. You can walk all the way to Lamai town on low tide. Canoes are available free which we really enjoyed. The sea is calm and flat because of an offshore reef. We met a few long staying and repeat guests which says a lot about the place. Only very minor negative comment is that hotel should control reservation of pool seats. Sometimes there was nobody at the pool and no seats available because of reservations using towels. Very frustrating and inconsiderate. Be aware that the hotel is a little distance from Lamai town but there are a couple of restaurants within a reasonable walk. However Tuk tuks are cheap and we hired scooters which are also cheap at 200 baht a day. Well be back.!!…

Nice boutique hotel, great swimming

Very cosy boutique hotel. Lots of attention from staff. It's small, but the breakfast and dinner area outside is very cute. The breakfast and dinner area opens out into a very lovely bay, where it is very nice to swim, Safe and peaceful. Convenience store is about 10 minutes walk away. Some might not like location which is off a main road and a bit dark at night

Best of the best

I dont think i have meet more kind and sweet people. The staff is so helpfull, so kind and would do anything for you. They have helped us so much, did approximatly 10 calls for us, because we didnt know where to get some informations, organised us a drive to port and booked us speed boat to Koh Tao. We rented a scooter from them and got flat tire and they didnt complicated at all and said that it is okay and that they will fix it. If i will ever come to Kho Samui again, I will for sure go back to Palm Coco Mantra.

Great service

This resort has the friendliest staff and gave us the warmest welcome when we arrived. The resort makes for beautiful photos and has a very relaxing atmosphere. We recommend coming here and experiencing it for yourself.

Amazing stay

For the second time we stayed my boyfriend and I in your hotel and we would like to say that you are amazing and I felt like it was my second home. You truly are a family. I want to highlight the welcome, kindness and approachability of the staff . You are doing such an amazing job!!!!!! I got bite by an insect and the staff gave me medicine to calm the pain! Thanks a lot. The swimming pool and beach are beautiful and the location is ideal. The beach is quiet and very nice for a long walk in the evening. The restaurant serves you délicate local food with great taste. And every morning for breakfast the hotel make the best waffle of Koh samui ❤️ Rooms are clean big in size and fully equipped with complimentary tea and coffee and even flip flops are available in the room. When it was the time to say goodbye it was very difficult to me and I got tears!!I am gonna miss a lot Palm coco Mantra❤️ With all my heart thank you so so much! Highlight of my trip to South East Asia

For anyone who is planning on staying at Koh Samui, I would highly recommend choosing Palm Coco Mantra for your stay. We arrived early the first morning, and we were greeted by the extremely friendly team members - this a theme throughout my review. I consider myself well traveled, and the service the staff provided was by far the best I have experienced. Our check in time was for 2pm, but we got there very early because we had an early flight that left Chiang Mai. They invited us to store our bags, use the spa room for changing and showering. We then went to the beach and ate lunch from the delicious restaurant. Within 45 minutes of being there, they were able to get us into the room. After backpacking throughout South East Asia and being very exhausted, this was gold. We had a deluxe room on the first floor facing the ocean. It felt like we were in one of the villas. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and modern. The shower felt like heaven, especially compared to the previous places we stayed, and the best was so comfortable. The staff at Palm Coco Mantra made everything so easy and seamless during our stay. We were there for a week, and it was exactly what we needed to end our trip. They arranged transportation, moped rental, ferry rides, and other excursions for us. We became accustom to using the Grab app (similar to Uber) in the larger cities because it was usually cheaper than a taxi or tuk tuk. In the islands, we found this to not be the case. Renting a moped was the cheapest option, and the hotel staff was able to get it for us at the best price. In addition, we found that the transportation and ferry rides they arranged for us were also at the cheapest price. I’ve stayed at hotels which usually have an up charge for arrangements like this, but not at Palm Coco Mantra. The hotel is located in Lamai beach, about a ten minute moped ride from the collection of bars and restaurants. It is located on this secluded road next to a few other resorts. It is a 5-10 minute walk from the main road where there are a lot of restaurants with meals 70-120 baht. Amazing! We really enjoyed talking and laughing with the staff. The front desk women were incredibly helpful and friendly. I wish we could have extended our stay for another week. Finally, the staff recommended that we go to Silver beach. It is a 5 minute moped ride and about a 20 minute walk. We ended up spending the majority of our beach days there, and only visited Lamai once. The view and beach are absolutely beautiful, and there are restaurants and bars there... as well as massages on the beach! Thank you Palm Coco Mantra for making us feel appreciated and comfortable during our stay in Koh Samui. I usually try not to go to the same place more than once because there are so many places that I was to visit throughout the world, but I definitely plan on coming back to your hotel. Well where do we start with this review other than to bring into the spotlight the friendly Mr.E that has been mentioned in other reviews before. Firstly let me say that he is a credit to this small hotel and I hope the management are reading this review to understand what he is bringing in way of charm, personality and constantly laughing and wanting to chat with the guests. I had a lot of time for him and hope you will too as he works very hard in the restaurant at breakfast taking orders (as do all the other staff here). After that you will see him around the hotel either gardening, taking guests to and from the airport or doing jobs around the place. I enjoyed my time chatting to him each day learning about Thai life and we swapped stories of our life back in England. On New Years Eve, our last night we enjoyed a few drinks with him before we sadly had to leave. Not too sure what else we can say without being repetitive of other reviews but the food we had at lunchtime was great, drinks always cold and we really enjoyed the smoothies that they make, always opting for the Pineapple flavour which was lovely. You have use of the kayak to explore the safe shallow waters which was great fun for a pair of 40-somethings! We ate once at nearby Uncle Rangs restaurant but we much prefferred Kawins Kitchen about a 10 minute walk away towards the main road. See our other reviews of places on Koh Samui that we went to including a recommended tailor, fantastic chilled out sunset cruise boat trip and other ideas. So back to Palm Coco Mantra, staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful and helped me along learning Thai phrases. We chose a seaview Deluxe room on the first floor (although it is known as the 2nd floor when you are out of the UK) and while it is basic, it was comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the sea in front of us. The downside to the room is that we had no English tv channels for when we were in bed late at night but that wasn't a problem at all. The bed was huge as most are in Thailand and we slept very well indeed. Being picky here but there was lack of drawer space in the room and we had to leave some things in our suitcases or left strewn about the room. One more negative is the tablecloth covering on the table at breakfast where the food is laid out on needs a clean and it didn't go un-noticed. So come on Palm Coco, please replace it. Also one niggle is the sunbed situation. Sadly we had to 'play the game' like fellow guests to grab a sunbed early as towels were put out and not used for several hours which resulted in some guests disappointed by not having anywhere to sit during the day. It would be great if the hotel put a sign up saying 'After 1 hour towels will be removed' (and also action taken) because seeing holidaymakers left without anywhere to lounge about was disappointing while people had disappeared leaving their towels out. We had a lovely relaxing stay here and we would definitely stay again if we came back to Koh Samui. The beach was very clean contrary to what others have said now and again and with it being at the far end of Lamai it was nice to pretty much have it to yourself. So please don't be put off by our nit-picking points in the review, you'll have a great stay here. If you intend using taxis to get about we advise you download the 'Grab' app. It was the first time we have ever used it and it left us impressed. And please do say hello to Mr.E, a great chap who works hard like all the staff here. We arrived here and soon realised we had made a great choice and we left at the end of our two week holiday sad to be leaving. Thankyou to everyone who made our holiday memorable and happy to have bought one of their t-shirts at reception to remind us of our stay here.…

Lovely, quiet hotel with amazing staff

My husband and I have just returned from a holiday to Thailand and wanted to leave a review to thank the wonderful staff at Palm Coco Mantra for a very enjoyable stay. All of the staff are friendly and accomadating and go out of their way to make you feel welcome-they are the hotel's greatest asset. This hotel is perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday and the private beach provides a lovely view whilst lying at the pool. The tide was in during our stay though so unfortunately we couldn't really walk very far along the beach but not surw if it is always like this. Next to the hotel on the beach is an amazing restaurant called Uncle Rang's which doesn't look like much from.The outside but has some of the best Thai food we had during our trip! If you go once you will keep returning! The hotel has a nice spa which is great value for money but they could advertise it a bit more as I only thought about going a few days into our stay as it isn't really advertised by the hotel. I think maybe they are too polite to push people but it could definitely be mentioned when checking in which might make more people go. Oh and make sure to try the fruit smoothies-they are delicious!!! Thank you once again all for a lovely stay. :)…

Excellent value!

We stayed for 12 days at this resort and it was sheer bliss every morning starting with a warm friendly breakfast with Mr E, making the whole experience feel like we were family. This place is unique and the hidden jem amongst the fancy and overpriced surrounding resorts. Location and views are nothing sort of spectacular!!! It' s a big credit to the family for creating a well organized, friendly and warm environment.
