We visited this place for a meal not knowing what to expect, as there aren’t many places to eat around where we was staying. All i can say is, what an experience! We had 4 courses and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I have never experienced food like it. The place itself was intimate and lovely. Our server (Yogi Bear) was outstanding and so friendly, we could of stayed and spoke with her for hours. I would definitely recommend a visit. I wish i could give is 10 stars.
We have visited this restaurant regularly over the years. Today dinner deserves a post: The four course meal with wine pairing was no less than EXCELLENT. All courses well composed and very tasty. To our experience the kitchen has really leveled up since our last visits. Make sure to book a table in advance, as they have limited seats. - we will be back for sure!
This place is such a hidden gem! The food was outstanding and the accommodation was so cozy with a beautiful view. I really love the concept here and have already asked my partner to take me back for my birthday. We had countless conversations about food and the intensive processes involved in going from forest to farm to plate with our lovely head chef Silva and his team Ole and Lenora. There is a huge amount of preparation that goes into what ends up on your plate here and these guys really push the home grown, home made, homebutchered ideals of a true working kitchen to a whole new level, it was consistently one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Accommodation is beautiful aswell, well appointed, clean and beautifully styled, it was like staying in a fancy ski chalet with all the extra touches such as a sauna, quality bed linen, locally created shower, body wash and hand soap and that warm cozy, log cabin feel. It's a rare establishment that can get both accommodation and restaurant so right, but this place gets a 10/10 on both aspects. Many thanks to the whole team (especially the restaurant) for such an unforgettable experience, we will definitely be coming back!!…
Friendly staff, and a really tasty soup bouffet. They have at least 3 different soups with a vide selection of taste. Also location is nice for some afternoon chilling in the sun. Reccomend the place a lot.
This was a very lucky last minute booking. Having been in Oslo for the prior week, we were looking for the chance to see the countryside and snow. And wow we got very lucky!!! The place is magical!!! Set up on the mountain by a ski resort, you have beautiful wooden cabins and a gorgeous restaurant. Sadly we only had time to stay one night but it was well worth the scenic drive. The cabin we stayed in is quaint and cozy with a lovely view down the ski slope to the valley. Really comfortable bed, and it was perfect for sunrise too. We ate lunch, Christmas eve dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, all the food was delicious. Locally sourced produce, and knowledgeable friendly team. They really made us feel welcome and at home, it was more like visiting your family than staying in a hotel. Really would recommend staying here and having dinner, and soaking up the atmosphere. This is a gem that you have to visit.…
This is a ski resort, but it is a foodie destination all year around. The food is carefully prepared, with creative twists to predominantly local ingredients. Three- four- and five-course dinners are offered. There is a full bar, and a good wine list. The views from the place are spectacular, since it is at a significant height. It is definitely worth visiting for lunch or dinner, or even better, overnight with meals.
A good pal and myself visited this wonderful place after the Norseman race the day before. After reading reviews it looked perfect for an amazing after race meal. It didn't let us down. YES we visited during the low season and therefore shared the restaurant with just two other guests but all that meant is that both chefs spent even more time talking us through the area, the food, and every aspect of life around that part of Norway. It was truly a wonderful dining experience. 5 courses with wine tasting provided. Thank you so so much. Oh and the rooms are amazing too. I'm just a foodie!!!
We just stayed at the NorefjellHytta with two other families for a 4 day ski trip and loved it. The hut is in a wonderful spot on the mountain side with spectacular views down over a frozen lake. There are lots of bedrooms with single beds you can push together as needed but the best thing about the cabin is the huge bright living / dining room with fireplace and dining table that comfortably sat all 10 of us. We twice had the restaurant’s chefs come in to cook us a five course dinner (incredible local food), once had a hearty stew delivered and the rest of the time cooked ourselves. The ski school was excellent - after three mornings of lessons our three five year olds were hurtling down mountains like pros, and there were picturesque runs for the adults. We did a husky trip which was well worth it for the excitement even if the dogs seemed to have a few digestive issues. Early April was a good time to go as there were very few people about and we often had slopes to ourselves. I would highly recommend Norefjell and the hytte for family holidays. Thanks to Kim and all his staff for such a brilliant holiday!…
Amazing food, hospitality and a hidden gem in the mountains. Our Spanish customers have been with us twice and are stocked when it comes to the food, view, cabin in general and the rooms. You just feel like your in your own chalet with ski in - ski out. Drop in for lunch, enjoy the slopes or a hike and get back in the afternoon for you own space and free time while the chef prepare dinner.
Norefjellhytta got absolutely fantastic food and impeccable service. We stayed a weekend in a cozy room with everything we needed. It's a shame that they are struggling with Giant Silverfish (Ctenolepisma longicaudata). We found them in our bags (three of them) when we packed on Sunday. We had to take all our clothes and things in the sauna for an hour to make sure the devils didn't come home with us. They are almost impossible to get rid of. We think it's important for guests to be aware of this, because keeping your bags closed and away from the floor will prevent this from happening.
