nice hotel, very nice pool area, clean rooms in a beautiful garden... but you need to have some means of transportation....the beach is only 10 minutes by foot away, but you have to walk about 40 minutes to get to Pigadia... overall a very pleasant stay...

I spent one week at this hotel the second week of August. The experience was good. The hotel is not far away from Pigadia center, but it is highly suggested to rent a car, in order to discover the beautiful island rich of fantastic beaches. The hotel is clean and the staff kind and friendly. It has a nice swimming pool, too. Maybe the only aspect not so good, is the breakfast. I recommend this hotel for couples who wish to visit the island using the car, who have no need to have lunch and dinner services. A good level between quality and cost.

Tranquil and nice decorated pool area,colourful gardens. Clean hotel and clean room as well . Small and a little bit dark room .Vasic buffet style breakfast .The staff could be more smily and friendly sometimes

We stayed for one night in July 2013. On arrival at the hotel we had to hunt for some one to give us our key and show us our room as we arrived at 8.30 in the evening although we had told the hotel we would be arriving late. The young lady was very polite and helpful. The room was clean but very basic . At breakfast we where totally ignored by the owner / manager not even a hello . The staff sat in reception in full view of the guests and smoked and didn't give us the time of day breakfast was also very basic with not much choice.

Already some years ago, but I like my stay in Karpathos so much I write a first review anyway. Alex Hotel is very simple, cheap, but friendly and well situated. The last is not unimportant in Greece. The hotel is near the beach, close to town but not in it. This means its quiet at night. There is a big clean pool and the rooms are small but allright. You will not be staying in your room in Karpathos, so I did not mind. The breakfast is good but also simple. Could be a bit better, but in Greece, it is about lunch, not breakfast. The owners are greek and friendly. They speak amazingly good English on this island. From all the islands in Greece I have visited (about 10), this one I liked the best.
