Dear John, thank you so much for your review. It was a real big pleasure for us to know you and to spend a long time speaking. We are happy that you appreciated our efforts to create something different in an undiscovered corner of Thailand. And above all we are very happy that you appreciated the attractions of Trang Province, that for Nature, views and quietness is a real relaxing Paradise. There's much more to see, so we hope to see you again. A big hug from Kingfisher Retreat

I stayed at the Sabai Resort for 5 nights during February 2014.

If you're looking to escape the crass tourism of the more developed areas of Southern Thailand like Krabi, Phuket and Samui, Trang Province might be a good place for a visit. If you're looking for night life and shopping you won't find them in Trang.

In Trang Province, you will find endless islands with empty beaches and friendly locals that don't view you as an "mark". I'm not much of a beach goer myself but I'm anxious to return with my dive gear. If you visit, please remember that most of the islands are inhabited by Thai Muslims who will greatly appreciate modesty in your dress and behavior.

The owners of the Sabai Resort are a lovely Italian-Thai couple, Alberto and Noi whose great affection and care for their customers elevate a nice experience into a truly memorable one.

I ate mostly Thai food at the Sabai Resort during my visit and found the Thai food to be some of the best that I have eaten in Thailand. The local fresh fish and crabs were particularly delicious.
The Italian food missed a note or two with me but being part Sicilian, but I am a very harsh critic of Italian food.

My room was immaculate and kept that way despite my somewhat slovenly manners. Everything in the room was modern and functional with an Italian flair. I often find that Thai hotels skimp on hot water for showers. The shower at the hotel could be adjusted from cool to very hot; I never found myself wanting more hot water.

The hotel is approximately 30 km from Had Yao pier where boats leave for the various Islands. This distance makes your own car or motorcycle almost a necessity for a visit. There is a nearby beach (Ban Pak Meng) about 3 km away. The hotel offers a free shuttle to this beach. All of the other hotels in the area are at a similar distance from the pier and with one exception (at THB 10,000/day) at not located on or near a beach.

The best recommendation that I can give any business is my continued patronage. Alberto and Noi will be seeing a lot of me in the future as I plan to retire in this area of Thailand. I will use the Sabai Resort as my home away from home when investigating Trang Province.

The Sabai Resort is an outstanding value for the money; it's easily the best place that I stayed in Thailand. As the Italians say you would have to been "testa dura" (stubborn) to stay anywhere else in Trang Province.

Sabai Resort is a fantastic place to stay in Trang. It's located in a beautiful plantation that feels worlds away from the typical chaos in Thailand. The rooms are nicely furnished, clean and have air conditioning.

However, the real reason to stay here are the incredible hosts of the resort, Alberto and Noi. They treat you like friends from day one and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. They were happy to drive us to the beach and a nearby convenience store when we needed supplies. They're also great conversationalists, so do yourself a favor and plan to spend some time with them at dinner!

We genuinely enjoyed our time at Sabai Resort in Trang and recommend them to everyone!

My friend and I stayed at Sabai Resort for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Noi and Alberto made us feel incredibly welcome and advised us on places to go and things to do, meaning we really saw the best of the area in our very limited time. The rooms are immaculate and the beds and bedding are clean, new and very comfortable. This is, hands down, the cleanest, most pleasant resort I have stayed at in Thailand. In the evening, we ate the excellent food at the resort; there are lovely Thai and Western dishes to choose from.

The owners are incredibly charming, helpful people who went out of their way to make our stay fun, relaxing and stress free. I cannot praise this beautiful, tranquil resort enough. We will definitely be returning in the very near future!

This was an incredible part of our trip.... My parents, uncle, sister and I traveled to Pak Meng hoping to find beautiful beaches, peace and tranquility. We found SO much more then this! The resort was absolutely gorgeous and very clean. Noi and Alberto were beyond accommodating for us whether it was cooking us green curry, making a mojito, scheduling our island hopping adventure, calling a taxi, making us spaghetti carbonara or answering every question we had. We fell in love with Sabai and the two of them made it a special place for us that we will not forget! They instantly became a part of our family, our favorites and we even invited them (and hope) they come to visit us in Maine!!

We are not used to answer to positive reviews, but this time (the first one) I absolutely have to do it. Megan if you wanted to move us you did. We NEVER saw in our resort a so polite, helpful, wholehearted, lovely family like your. You arrived with a sunny smile and you went away sad to leave. You appreciated everything and above all you understood that we make this job with the heart because we love our little resort and this area. We spent the last night laughing a lot and it seemed to be in a party with favorite friends or relatives. As in every hotel happens sometimes there are problems with guests and sometimes they search for problems and not to have fun. You were an example of what it means to be a perfect traveler. Curious to discover, positive, patient, never complaining, enthusiastic and helpful in everything. You are not only in our Hall of Fame (our best guests' list) running for the Gold Medal, but above all you were able to touch our hearts. It's difficult after we see every day people coming and leaving to be move when they go away, but with your FANTASTIC family happened. Even my Italian Hot Hot Hot Temper husband, used to kick off rude and unfriendly guests, was moved and now continues to speak about you and Maine. Now I can confess you that his dream has been for a long time to go for a trip in USA and particularly in Maine. Thank you so much Megan, Melissa, Lou, Michael junior and Michael senior to have had the honor and the privilege to know so good and lovely people as you. So strange that after a so short time we really felt to be part of your family. We speak every day about you because we miss you and we love you too much. We hope one day to see you again and when we'll be able we come to check your "little" cabin in front of the lake. Because more than a cabin it looks like a villa. Not only lovely guests you were, but even simple people. Take care of you AMAZING family. WE LOVE YOU !!!

When we arrived we were a little shocked by this place in the middle of the jungle. Ten minutes later we were loving it! It's a very unique place where you can enjoy quiet and peace moments with the care of Noi and Alberto! They are so cute and they let you feel good like in a family. We love them all! We'll surely come back here in the future. Thanks,
Francesca and Filippo

We booked a 10 day stay at Sabai Resort purely on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews we had read. We were delighted with our decision. Set within a plantation and far "from the madding crowds", the bungalow that we rented was spotlessly clean, the bed spacious and comfortable and the bathroom comprised a very efficient hot shower, a wc and sink. The bungalow was also equipped with AC, a fan, colour TV and a fridge - bed linen and towels were changed and the whole bungalow thoroughly cleaned every day.

Great care has been taken in the planting of trees and bushes around the site and the whole ambience of the place is one of tranquility. Alberto and Noi, the owners, were charming hosts, always willing to offer assistance and advice and we had great fun chatting with them over the thoroughly enjoyable Thai and Western dishes they prepared for us during our stay.

We felt as though we were parting from long-time friends when we left and we will definitely return next time we are in the Trang area.

Alberto and Noi truly make this place very special. The love and passion they have put into every detail will ensure that you have an amazing stay. Set in the middle of a rubber plantation, you are surrounded by only the sound of nature and pure relaxation. The bungalows are quaint, pristine clean and beautifully decorated. The standard is very high for Thailand. You must try Alberto's home cooked special Italian dishes and Noi's award winning mojitos! I will definitely be coming back here again for some timeout :) Make sure you go to the pier and get on an island boat tour. This is Thailand at it's best but shhhh do not tell everyone! I often forget to write reviews but this place truly deserves it!
Thank you for an unforgettable stay guys.

Sabai Resort

We, have been travelling quite a lot around this planet, having a Dutch nationality and being a resident of New Zealand. We are now travelling in Thailand for one year or more.

It is not our habit to spend any time at all to write a comment about any accommodation we have been visiting. Never the less, after three weeks travelling in Thailand, we found a pearl about which we want to share our feelings and experiences.

We were very lucky to find an oasis of tranquillity in a very hectic Thailand, and this all in the middle of long empty beaches, impressive islands, to be visited by boats. In an environment with very clean bungalows, with very, very caring staff, and with a perfect and affordable both Thai and European cuisine.

Actually we planned to stay for one or two nights, but at the end we stayed for nine nights…..which explains a lot!

One of the other great things here was the flexible times for breakfasts and dinners. There was never a moment we didn’t feel us welcome anymore.

The bungalows are very comfortable, and once again, very clean.

We certainly prefer this area and this place in particular, above the very hectic surroundings of Krabi.
We absolutely advise this place for those who are looking for rest and pure nature.

The only negative thing about this place is that it reminds me of a teacher, many, many years ago when I made an exam without any mistakes, but he refused to give me a note more than 9 on the scale of 10. This and all explaining that a 10 was only for God. Well, we valued Sabai Resort in Pak Meng Beach, Province of Trang with 10’s, because it was just devine!!

Thank you Noi, Alberto and Joe!!
