Taken from classical Greek, the hotel’s name Panorama indicates exactly its basic characteristic, which is, its magnificent-all round views of the bay of Chania and the historic islet of Thodorou, just opposite. This exclusive and luxurious beach hotel, built in the early 80’s and totally refurbished during year 2000, is situated 5 Km from the most picturesque town of Crete, Chania and about 20 Km from its international Airport. The famous Samaria Gorge is only 30 Km away, while the spectacular White Mountains of Crete overlooking the green valleys surrounding the hotel. The hotel has only recently been tastefully renovated. Greek island themes, Cretan ceramics and beautiful pastel paint-works combined together, reflect the island’s rich history. The layout consists of a 3-floor main building with 138 rooms, a section for families with 26 rooms and the executive wing of 35 rooms located harmoniously within Panorama’s landscaped gardens in a prime location.

I wanted a peaceful environment with a great view, lovely accommodation, great food, and a swimming beach.
The food was of excellent quality and variety. I couldn't resist sto the point when taste overrides logic. I only drink wine for dinner and occasional cocktails, so the alcohol issue wasn't relevant for me. There is a list of cocktails, and bartenders won't make other cocktails NOT from the menu list unless you pay additional. Some people indeed found it unpleasant.
The beach is rocky, and I wasn't happy with it at first. But after going to Balos on a day trip - one of the world's best places allegedly visited by royal families, I can say that it's the same crystal clear water and beach, except it doesn't have patches of white sand to make it that unique, almost unreal color. But it's a beautiful, wild, private, and well-maintained beach with no one there the majority of the time.
The pool is very lovely with an incredible view and breeze from the shore.
Internet worked great as we stayed at the main building. However, that means rooms are cheaper and, as a result, not equipped with robes and slippers, which I didn't bring with me as I was sure they would be there...
This hotel needs a financial and hospitality advisor. Such small details cost little but mean much for customers. Such as Keurig. They invested in a high-quality 55inch HDTV taking most of the wall, which is rare, but placed the cheapest kettle next to it.
Again dinner at sunset is beyond a dream, but floors being cleaned rarely. Can't you see the floor is dirty?! That kind of food costs a small fortune per day to feed customers.
Overall it's a great place, I felf extremely lucky as I picked it.

We have just returned from a 2 weeks all inclusive holiday at this hotel. The hotel is great for photo opportunities especially at sunset.
Overall the hotel is spotless; all credit to the staff particularly Pepi who kept our room 1024 nice and clean throughout our stay.
The food is great with a good variety of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables on offer every meal.
The deal includes a decent amount of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks from the Pool side bar from 10am then the main bar from 6pm. Drinks are also available with meals; the white wine was excellent.
We visited Chania a few times; there are plenty of cafes and shops in the old and new town. The harbour area is very picturesque with views of the lighthouse. A bus to Chania (21) stops right outside the hotel entrance, buy your tickets from the hotel shop for €1.50 for a single journey. If you pay on the bus it is €2.50.
We also did the Samaria Gorge trip. This is well worth doing but be prepared as it is not easy. A bus collects you at 5.50 am ( the hotel will give you an early breakfast and packed lunch if you book 24 hours in advance) the bus then takes you to the top of the White Mountains. There is a comfort stop just before the start of the walk. The bus parks outside a large restaurant that has toilets and sells food and drink however there was a long queue of people from other coaches all trying to buy things before starting the walk. If you cross over the road there is a smaller cafe where a very pleasant lady will let you use the restrooms that are spotless. She also sells really lovey croissants and yogurt with honey.
The gorge walk starts at 4,000 feet and you then walk/ scramble down to sea level ( 16km) . We took walking poles and wore walking shoes which we would definitely recommend as it is very uneven underfoot and slippy in places. There are rest areas along the way and toilets which are basic and a bit smelly!
It is a long walk but definitely worth it for the scenery. Once you reach the end there is a further 2kms to walk to the ferry which takes you along the coast to the coaches.
We would recommend the trip but only if you have a decent level of fitness and good footwear.
All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again if we return to Chania.

My fiancé and I visited Panorama for a week in August 2022 and cannot recommend it highly enough!!

We paid a bit extra to have a ‘swim up’ room in the executive area which was 100% worth it!! Due to our late afternoon arrival, the staff had prepared and left lunch in the room for us and on the first evening we returned to find a plate of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine for us to enjoy.

We had access to our own private pool outside the room, a pool for executive guests and also access to the main pool which were all a really good size with fantastic views. By the executive pool we also had access to a small bar with self-service drinks and snacks. The executive area was child free, peaceful and relaxed throughout our entire stay.

We really enjoyed all our meals at the hotel - there’s plenty of choice, something different everyday and lots of the food is cooked fresh by the chefs in front of you! The views from the restaurant are stunning and the whole experience was relaxed with attentive staff.

Our room was kept sparkling clean with housekeepers attending every day and fresh towels when required.

A 2 minute walk over the bridge takes you to a beautiful little beach with sun loungers and umbrellas. This area was super quiet and perfect for a dip in the sea.

Chania is only a short 15 minute bus ride away and picks you up/drops you off directly outside the hotel.

We cannot fault this hotel or it’s staff and have already recommended to all our family and friends!

Please please avoid this hotel if you are looking for a nice family holiday with a toddler/young children and elderly too!

The hotel was a nightmare from the beginning, transport took 1 hour 30 instead of 35 minutes, upon arrival we just missed the food cut off so couldn’t get anything to eat apart from ice cream for 4 hours after travelling all day to get to the hotel we was made to pay for food (brilliant start to an all inclusive holiday)

The lifts were broken 5/7 days on our stay and two of the three rooms we had was up the stairs, my nana is disabled and had to struggle hobbling up and down the stairs and my dad just had a knee placement. They made the hotel aware as soon as the lift was out of action but they didn’t care at all.

The food, there are periods of the day where you can’t eat anything (4 hours plus) which isn’t made obvious. The pool bar serves the same food everyday so if you want something different you have to go inside, on many occasions this was a nightmare and I was told off for trying to save my daughter some food from lunch who was asleep and woke up after the lunch had finished at both the pool bar and main restaurant to be told I wasn’t allowed. An all inclusive restaurant who doesn’t cater for children at all is shocking!!

The staff work very long hours, some of the restaurant staff were lovely but reception staff had no customer service skills and didn’t deal with any problems just made you feel like you were the issue.

No way is this a 5* hotel, the rooms weren’t properly clean opening the draws they were dirty.

The food on a night was bland mostly uncooked and as I am pregnant eating uncooked food on many evenings I lived off desserts and fruit, not the all inclusive experience we was promised at all. One night was fish night and there physically was not any meat but fish, for someone who doesn’t like fish I was very hungry that night !! The buffet is far too small for such a big hotel and half the days we spent in a dirty dusty conference room eating cold food because of the wind, it was disgusting and we opted to eat out and spend unnecessary money because it wasn’t the experience we had paid for.

Overall I would never return the hotel is in a good location but apart from that the staff need to learn some manners and actually help paying customers instead of insulting them, it’s not child friendly the food was 2/10 very poor variety and reoccurring the same thing multiple nights. The entertainment on a night was standard nothing brilliant, I believe this was on two evenings, infact the hotels nearby playing music was nice and refreshing to hear. Very boring on a night here and huge Ques to get a drink. This hotel needs a lot of improvement.

If you’d like uncooked food, dirty rooms and poor service then this hotels for you!

A very disappointed family coming back from staying in October 2022 with 3 rooms all on different floors and of all ages.

I would give this hotel 5 stars on the views, cleanliness & pool scene. When we arrived we had to fill out arrival forms on our phones from which the reception staff asked us to use a bar code & fill in our passport details etc. I did ask for a coffee & was told we could go get one at the bar after we had finished filling out the forms. We paid €28 euro hotel room tax for 1 wk. Unfortunately for us we arrived on the 11th oct & on the 13th from the afternoon it rained & was very windy & cold. I feel that had the hotel proper facilities to cook indoors then I would give the food a four star (before the rain we ate all meals in the main restaurant which is very very small but unfortunately it was unusable when windy or raining) so we had to eat downstairs in a very large room with no ambiance what so ever. There would have been more atmosphere at a wake. There was no effort made for evening meals (candles on tables, back round music, dimmed lights) it was a large room that looked unused for most of the year. No show cooking there. I’m sure it’s not the first time it’s rained there & the plan B is 3 star. The hot food in either place wasn’t even warm most of the time. The food was very disappointing. I had to ask for the soup pot to be plugged in once. The staff were there !!!!!!they were polite when you instigated conversation but other than that !!!!!! management didn’t even bother bring down the ice cream freezer. So no ice cream for 5 days. They always put a bottle of water on your table for lunch & dinner and gave the impression they would prefer you to drink that than order a drink. We paid extra for a swim up which was beautiful but even on the first few days it never got sun & was fairly cold to be out there. The rooms were spacious & ok. The hairdryer was the only down side. The fridge had 2 bottles of water on arrival but never stocked up after that. No problem just got it from the bar. The spa is worth a visit & once we booked a few massages we were allowed use the sauna FOC. THE SPA IS INDEPENDENT. Even though I’ve given the hotel scene 5 stars after that it drops to a 3 but because of the food & uninterested management team we will not return.

This hotel exceeded expectations for an all-inclusive break. We had a sea view room and the view was stunning, as they are from both the restaurant and pool area. The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful and the hotel is kept immaculate. The food is buffet-style but is all well cooked and presented. Each night has a theme and there was always plenty of choice on the varied menu. (if you are vegetarian avoid the fish night as there was minimal choice on this particular night). Waiters serve you drinks at both lunch and evening sittings which was a lovely touch. There is a small shop selling essentials on site including bus tickets. The hotel is faily remote but the bus stops right at the driveway into the hotel so could not be easier getting into Chania which I recommend you do as it is beautiful. We also used taxi's which were easy to obtain on all days except the weekends so plan your outings around this if possible. If I had one negative it was that the evenings were so quiet due to a lack of entertainment, we only witnessed one night's live music which was great, but the other nights where we had chosen to spend the evening at the hotel were very quiet and lacked atmosphere. This may improve throughout the high season (but we were staying at the end of July). The beach is a short walk to stunning sands and clear warm sea water and is a must. I would recommend this hotel for the views, food and amazing staff who couldn't be more helpful.

We had a great week at the Panorama Hotel in Crete! When we arrived, we were given a nice room with a great sea view and were happy. However the next morning we were given an unexpected upgrade to a beautiful room in the adults only area with a swim up pool. This completely elevated our experience and we had the best week.

All of the staff were very friendly and went over and above to be helpful, particularly Betty at the pool bar and Dmitri on reception. However, some of the waiting staff in the restaurant could be quite impatient and weren't always that friendly, making us feel like we were being a pain simply for asking for water. However, everyone else was great.

Our room was cleaned daily and the lady who cleaned our room (2004) was great, even helping us when we accidentally lacked ourselves out of the room.

The bus into Chania was ideal and stopped directly outside the hotel. It was fairly regular and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for the next one to arrive.

We only ever used the adults only pool or the pool at our room, but the hotel were great as making sure no one reserved sun beds with their towels and there always seemed to available beds at both pools. We also loved being able to get drinks whenever we liked at the adults only pool, and Betty was great at getting us whatever we needed.

Overall, we couldn’t fault our stay at Panorama at all and would definitely return in the future. Perfect hotel for couples looking for a nice relaxing stay, as well as being close to the business of Chania!

This hotel has views to die for! The pool area was lovely with panoramic views of the sea. The hotel reception staff would remove towels of people did try to reserve them daily which was good as most hotels do not enforce this. A waiter came round daily and gave out bottles of water complimentary. The room was spacious and clean and sleep quality was good. What let this hotel down was the food and restaurant. There was not much variety of food that we liked here which is unusual as we are not fussy eaters. Unfortunately the weather was not great when we visited and rain meant that the had to set up a make shift restaurant in a function room downstairs for 4/7 days. This was awful. Some evenings you had to wait up to 30 minutes to get a table. The food choice was even more restricted, one evening every choice had something in I could not eat as I was pregnant at the time. When I mentioned this to the waiting staff I was brought a plain bowl of pasta. The area was very quiet and not much to do if you venture out of the hotel. There was daily evening entertainment which always sounded good even when we had gone up to bed. Our room was on the front near the trees and on three days we had to ask to swap our towels due to birds pooing all over the balcony and the towels. The reception team did change them even though they normally only change 3 times.

To be a four star hotel the quality and service is really inferior. Little attention has been paid to special diets because everything seems unsuitable for celiac people. Also, the fact that the hotel is all inclusive does not guarantee quality or that you would even get anything other than water to drink. For two nights I have not received anything else and the staff will not ask after you have been brought to the table.

The hotel on the other hand is really beautiful and at least the exclusive wing is quiet and the private pool on the terrace is nice. The room is clean and comfortable but a bit old fashioned.

Staff a little irritated and this affects a lot of the general atmosphere. I would rather recommend Rhodes as a resort than Chania.
