Having stayed here 10 years ago, we were certainly not disappointed. The guest room is extremely comfortable, with a spacious en suite Shower room. A great Breakfast was served by Chris and Tricia who look after your every need. We enjoyed swimming every day and the relaxed atmosphere of this stunning home, which has extensive views to the Pyrenees. Lots of places to visit including the characterful square of Limoux with the river Aude close by. Would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

We had a great stay at La Cortanela, the room is large and air-conditioned, with a spacious shower/wetroom. High-speed internet was a great bonus. The views are spectacular, as is the breakfast that we looked forward to every morning. Certainly worth getting up for! A great place to stay with amiable and helpful hosts and a great pool and also very close to Limoux, a busy and lively market town with lots of free parking

After a long drive we were welcomed in a wonderfull place called La Cortanela! The hosts were so friendly and helpfull, the room was big, clean and cosy, the breakfast was very nice, the swimming area was relaxing,... We can only use positive words to describe this b&b. Our son felt so at easy he invited the hosts to come over to our place and spend their holiday in Belgium and you know what: Chris and Tricia gave us such wonderfull holiday memories we totally understand his invitation! If you are searching for the perfect holiday in the area of Carcassonne, don't look any further!

It had been eight years since our last visit to La Cortanela, but it was like reuniting with friends when we arrived. Tricia and Chris make wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. The property is a delight and everything is provided to make your stay enjoyable and relaxed. We had really hot weather when we stayed which was good but really humid, so the pool was a delight to cool off in. I would certainly recommend staying at La Cortanela as it is such a good base to explore the area and you couldn't get a better B&B.

Lovely place with spacious room, pool with an amazing view and 2 enthousiastic hosts who did everything they could to make our holiday unforgettable. We loved the breakfast and are pretty sure we will come back!

I have stayed here many times. Tricia, Chris and Tom are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is a real treat. The room with en-suite shower room is spacious and clean. Limoux is nearby with its many restaurants and bars. Tea/coffee and tv are in the room and a fridge is available down by the pool, for keeping your own drinks and snacks. The views towards the Pyrenees are stunning. I really recommend this bed and breakfast. Their boarder collie Ben and cat Cola also gave a great welcome.

There is not a lot more to add to the existing reviews - they say it all. We were holidaying down near the Spanish border and opted to stay in a 4 star hotel (the only one) in Carcassonne on the way down. On the way back up we stayed at La Cortanela. No comparison - the hotel was expensive, difficult to access, with staff who could not care less and a room the size of a broom cupboard. In contrast, staying with Chris and Tricia was superior in every way - they were so pleasant and friendly, the accommodation was beautiful and the cost was half what we paid at the hotel. Sort of says it all I think. Thoroughly recommend a visit - well worth it. Ideal for a couple - not so much so if you have very young children or any problems getting around - e.g.wheelchair etc. But otherwise fantastic.…

My teenage son and I stayed with Chris and Tricia for two nights this August. We had a great stay. The location was excellent - 25 minutes from Carcassonne Airport; 5 minutes from Limoux; 1 hour 15 minutes from Montsegur; Puivert 40 minutes; Puillarens 1 hour 25 minutes. So convenient and very easy directions to get to it. The villa was lovely - with an amazing south facing hilltop view all the way to the Pyrenees. Delightful to rest up by the pool with a cool drink at the end of each day. The room was spacious, spotless, very comfortable and nicely done with all mod cons - including DVD library, Wifi etc (important for teenagers!). Breakfast was delicious - lots of fruit and French bread etc and was really nicely set out on the eastern side of the villa to catch the early warmth of the sun. A lovely stay - with a really charming couple. The only downside is the trouble I will be in with my Missus for taking my son there and not her!! I suppose I will have to go back!!! We had a lovely stay at La Cortanela, it was incredible peaceful and relaxing! Tricia and Chris were lovely and very welcoming, which made the stay even more of a pleasure. As well as there lovely dog Ben of course!! The room is clean and spacious, with a spacious bathroom, all you need! The pool is just perfect, with an amazing view over to the mountains, what a great place to relax and unwind! The breakfast was great too, lovely presented and very delicious at whatever time suited. Tricia even made us a little breakfast to go for our last day as we had to set off very early to the airport!! The price is more than fair for this beautiful place and the service Tricia and Chris offer is amazing. We had some last minute changes and couldn't arrive at the date we planned, even though it was super late notice and we hadn't asked for anything, they knocked off one of the nights that we couldn't make!! If you are looking for a nice, clean and quiet place, with great views and lovely hosts, then check out La Cortanela, you won't regret it!…

La Cortinela is such a relaxing and beautiful place, very well located and few minutes from town center by car, supermarket and gas station. Tricia and Chris are the most lovely hosts, we just spend 3 days here and was such a relaxing and beautiful place that we didn't wanted to leave... The weather was great and we could enjoy the breakfast outdoor looking at the amazing mountain view and also enjoy the pool that is surrounded with Lavande flores which perfume the air and provide very nice relaxing sensation. The room was very clean, quiet and cosy. Bathroom has an Italian shower with lots of space and all the amenities. House keeping was excellent and every day the room and bathroom seems like we just arrived. We cannot forget mention Ben that we enjoy playing with him every morning :) is such a smart and nice dog. Tricia and Cris were very kind to ask if we were ok having Ben unleashed before unleash him. I recommend this to everyone who wants to enjoy the peace and relax.…
