After reading about Macaw Lodge and its location, I had to visit. It did not disappoint! The entire property is beautiful-- gorgeous grounds, an abundance of colorful birds, and so peaceful. The lodge itself is elegant simplicity. It's very tastefully designed, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the floor to ceiling windows offer lovely views from each room. The...

I visited Costa Rica for the first time and I also had my first stay in an Ecolodge. My time in the country and my time travelling around couldn't have been more lovely. Macaw Lodge contributed to my happiness and love for this gorgeous country. Understated elegance, a warm welcome, consistently delicious food and the enhancement of our natural surroundings...

We wanted to visit a cacao farm and wow... we got so much more. This place is amazing! Beautiful doesn't begin to describe it. “Our room was fine and overlooked the lake and main house beyond It was private but we thought it unusual there were no blinds to the full length windows in the bedroom There are other lodges in the grounds with views over the treetops towards the mountains. A more natural outlook where apart from daylight issues the absence of blinds would not pose any concern Tell reception if you want to use the cooker as matches may be needed ”
