We stopped here for lunch on our way to Wahiba Sands. We were the only people in the restaurant but we had a lovely simple meal from a very extensive menu. The location is good on the way from Nizwa to Al Ain. That said I would drive a long way not to stay there again. The pool was closed for maintenance - but from the look of it, it had been closed for quite a while. Only 1 tissue in each tissue box, 1 towel in each room, only a... More

A large, aged hotel, where we spent a night on a rental car tour of Oman. Standards are certainly lower as elsewhere, but prices are as well. We haven't even stayed the night yet but the place is truly awful. By the time you read this we will hopefully have found alternative accommodation. Addendum: we spent the night here. My friend and I stayed there midweek in November. Other than a few Omani men drinking beer at the poolside bar, there were few guests. The food was not great. We live in Ibra and Al Sharqiya Sands Hotel is probably the best place to have a decent meal in Ibra. The prices are pretty reasonable and the restaurant is good. I was looking forward to using the pool, but it was empty and the 'garden' surrounding it was dirty, dusty and hadn't been looked after for years - a real wasteland. If you think you can book a hotel with pool, know that when we arrived the pool was without water! We cannot recommand this hotel! The only good thing was the service in the restaurant, friendLy and the food was ok

Three-pin sockets but two-pin appliances with only one adaptor; cold water tap yielded no water; only one towel provided for a double room; swimming pool across a sea of mud; no record of the booking; mutton biryani was all bone and no meat. I could go on. A really disappointing experience.
