Hotel's Favourite
5.0 of 5 bubbles
Had an amazing two week stay here.

We were breakfast only and it was a great buffet with SO much variety - the pancakes and the smoothies were my favourite. There are two pool/bar areas. Our apartment was beside the upper pool area which we loved - it got the sun all day and we loved the music from the bar and overall atmosphere. Gregoris was so kind and friendly! The hotel had a lot of different nationalities of guests but I loved this aspect. I loved that hardly anybody reserved sun loungers with towels at a ridiculous time of morning (👍!). The hotel staff were the best that I have ever come across. The bar staff, the restaurant staff, the cleaners, the receptionists, they are all so friendly and welcoming.

We didn’t rent a safe - we trusted our cleaner with everything and she did an amazing job going above and beyond every day.

The hotel has a gym, games room, computer facilities, massage service (worth every penny!), kids playroom, luggage storage and showers.

We tried the hotel evening buffet one night for 16 euros and this was amazing food with lots of variety again (salad/fish/meat/side dishes/veg). As we only included breakfast, we had some great meals in Stalos and Agia Marina. Our favourite was Kri Kri, located just a walk away from the hotel.

The beach is directly opposite the road so amazing location. The loungers only cost us 7 euros for two all day! Again, as it was September there were plenty of these spare and one day we didn’t even get asked to pay.

The hotel is in a good location for organised day trips as the coaches all come along this road. We did an organised day trip to Balos Beach and it was incredible!

Stalos itself is a vibrant town with choices of bars and restaurants. You can walk further (20 mins) to Agia Marina which is another similar town with further bars/restaurants. You can also take a 10 euros taxi or the bus to the next town called Platanias which is even more vibrant. Chania is the city and a must visit. We visited 5 times for an evening meal and they offer day or evening boat trips from the Venetian Port (must see!). A taxi to Chania cost 15 euros and there was generally always one parked up outside the hotel.

I recommend the bus. Any journey costs 1.30 each and they are frequent (I think around every 30 mins). If you want to go to Chania or that direction, turn right from the hotel and you there is a bus stop 1 min walk away. If you want to go the towns further up such as Agia Marina, Platanias or further, cross the road from the hotel and walk right and there is a bus stop outside of Tony’s Supermarket. There are also bus times online. We took the bus home from Chania most times as just got it from the central bus station.

Side note - if you want to feed the cats / kittens, the small shop outside the hotel sells cat food for 90 cents per pack! The cats will absolutely love you!

Sports Bar for live sport is located 5 mins walk away at Pint O Clock.

We had a lovely stay at the Creta Palm Hotel in Kato Stalos. The staff certainly made up for a few things that could be improved upon overall with in the hotel. Big thank you to the ladies at reception. Especially Julia and Eva. The servers in the restaurant were fantastic and made it enjoyable. Thanks Stella and Nicoleta you are the best. Our housekeeper Stella made our stay most enjoyable by creating unique art with towels and linens. It was always nice to come back to the room and see her works of art. Her smile alone brightened up the day.
I felt that all areas of service was tops.
That being said they were a few disappointments. I think the general appearance of the hotel was good however I don't think it measured up to 4 stars. The rooms were a bit shabby and the bathroom could use an update and a bit of maintenance. Very disappointed that you have to pay for internet. It was 12.euros a week for 2 devices. If you were a family or a couple and you each had 2 devices you would need to pay 24 euros. You also had to pay for pool towels that was another cost and could be exchanged 2 times in one week for clean ones. (Most 4 star hotels give out free towels and you only pay a deposit which is returned when you turn them back in when you leave). The safe in the room was also an added extra cost. Dining Room : The food was nothing spectacular and even though there was some variety in main dishes the sides were basically the same. The pool bar restaurant was in my opinion better than main dining.
The hotel is located on the main street that goes to Chania in one direction and to Ag. Marina in the other. It is literally a 2 min. walk to the bus stop and costs 1.60 pp to go to Chania. Lots of small mini markets along the street near the hotel and several of the tourist shops. Location fantastic. Sea side just across the street with sand beach. (Life guards on duty).

The overall atmosphere of the hotel is excellent, made up of great, hardworking and nice people. The atmosphere and bar, run by Mr. Dimitrios (Dimis, Jimmy), contributes significantly to the atmosphere and maintains a great mood even among guests who do not only consume alcoholic beverages. We started calling him BBB, so Best Bar Boy. The two ladies at the front desk are also helpful. Ladies Stella and Nicolleta and Mr. Giorgis provide professional service in the dining room. They make it easy by serving great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The whole team is ruled by a capable manager. The hotel with pool is suitable for children, TV has a lot of programs. which was appreciated by EURO 21 fans. Stallos beach and sea water are clean, two sunny beds and an umbrella, cost 6 Euro per day. The beach is also lined with small restaurants with excellent cuisine, such as Krí Krí. By Milan

What a stay! We were one of the lucky ones that were able to get a summer holiday this year due to the current pandemic we are in. To be honest, I was quite anxious on travelling and staying in a hotel in regards to unknown restrictions and uncertainty etc but from the moment we checked in, we were made to feel SAFE and at home.

From the customer service to the cleanliness and the quality of food, I can’t fault this hotel at all. Without doubt, this has been the most perfect holiday. I highly recommend booking half board - not only is the food lovely, the service you receive is 5 stars. Every single member of the team deserve credit but hats off to Stella. She’s invaluable to the Creta Palm as she made our stay so special.

I will definitely visit Creta Palm again and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking a chilled week in the sun with great food, amazing service and extremely clean facilities.

Enjoy ☀️💙🇬🇷

This hotel reflects fully outstanding customer experience, starting with reception staff. The young receptionist lady Elefteria, assisted us very friendly with everything we needed.

First day after dinner, we met the MAESTRO Jimmy who makes the best coffees and coctails! The bar is his dance floor..he and his beautiful assistant Nicoletta make every night highly positive atmosphere. They make you to feel the space like home and this is the best about them- making people to enjoy their holiday with some fun! They manage to personalize every contact with every single guest ( in this period we are many and I'm sure it's not easy to handle it, but they do and that's why they have CONGRATS!
Second day during the breakfast we met very kind guy, Grigori, who could notice every single detail on the table if something was missing or wasn't right, ready immediately to resolve the issue. Amazing service and eye 🙌 ( a juice ran out, we didn't want to disturb staff because it was too much crowd, but in that rush, he spotted us and immediately refilled the macchine with juice).

Regarding the food, whoever complains about it, it's not fair. During the breakfast and dinner time, there isl abig variety of food, meats, veggie, salads, cheese, breads, deserts, cretan local dishes.
I would suggest only about coffee to be better for the breakfast, since for many people this first morning coffee is the most important 😊

Finally, what made me really to feel like home and to relax is ALWAYS extremely room, clean towels, ect. Even at this point, cleaning service makes your stay personalized. Every time when we would return in the room, seeing the cute creations on our bed, this would put smile on our faces knowing that somebody made an effort doing that.

All other aspects such as spacious balcony, nice apartment, ect..are on hugh level too, but people here are those who make this place wonderful. People buy energy and service, never product. 😊

Guys, thank you for making our holiday so nice.
Keep going so well!

Until our next time here, Panos & Bojana

Fantastic friendly staff make this wonderful hotel a very special location.
We cannot praise enough every single member of staff from front of house through to the staff, guests don't normally see, the cleaners and maintenance staff that keep the whole place, inside and out immaculately clean and tidy. The kitchen team that put on a well stocked excellent quality buffet spread for breakfast, lunch and evening meals.
An absolute joy to have cheerful, helpful, polite, informative staff, that go out of their way to make all guests feel welcome and looked after.
We highly recommend this hotel/apartment resort for individuals, couples, families and groups wanting a hotel in a great location for the beach, local restaurants and shops and good public transport to nearby Chania.
Two great pools, one very picturesque.
Rooms are of good size and have a kitchenette (sink, hob, fridge and utensils). Nice bathrooms, good water pressure and always hot water. Excellent, very comfortable beds and personal balcony. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. Immaculately cleaned by the cleaning staff. Rooms have A/C
Caters for multi nationalities.
Great location for shops, restaurants, the beach, with easy access to Chania.

We visited late May / early June 2019 having decided on a return visit after 14 years after seeing that Creta Palm was now one of Jet2's destinations. It was pretty much the same as it was on our first visit when the kids were little - just twice the size and with an extra pool. We were on a bed and breakfast basis this time and for what we paid at the time considered it to be a very good deal.

As it was our wedding anniversary we had asked for a room with a decent view, but unfortunately our view consisted of the side of an adjacent block and an old bloke who kept dropping his towel on his balcony.

The top pool area with snack bar was ideal, more open and spacious than the original pool - families with young children tend to gather around the original pool so it can get a bit congested. Breakfast was superb with plenty of choice of hot and cold items, all buffet self service. Staff at the complex are all friendly and helpful, particularly the staff at breakfast and those who ran the snack bar at the top pool.

A lot of the guests go all inclusive, which is an option if that's your thing, very popular with guests from the Scandinavian countries. There was a lot of ice hockey on TV which must have been either the European Championships or the World Cup so the bar was packed every night, so we left them to it and went out for our drinks in the evenings.

Travelled with my wife and 6 year old son for 14 days end of July early August .
Had a great holiday , hotel was spotlessly clean rooms were cleaned to a very high standard , pools were fantastic , breakfast wasn’t fantastic but ok ( the fried eggs were only runny if you were there early for breakfast ) but it’s a difficult situation the staff and public are in , keeping social distancing etc they probably can’t just keep in and out changing food , there was plenty of choice though and I never went hungry . Drinks were good in the hotel and the staff were friendly .
The people that really made our holiday were Elmira and Pedro at the pool / snack bar side they were so nice so welcoming and we really got to like them a lot , Pedro making fantastic cocktails and Elmira cooking up a storm in the kitchen couldn’t fault the food or the drinks , thanking you for being so welcoming and so nice . We would visit again , we booked 18 months before we come so it was a long time
Coming especially with covid but if you’re thinking of
Booking here don’t hesitate the location is ideal and the hotel is great .

We had a big family group of 15 staying over as a part of a week package. The hotel is clean and services are good.

Rooms had great AC in the hot weather were cleaned almost daily (mondays off). I actually had only a few pics of the hotel without family members in them so I have those included, the cleaning staff had nice surprises for the kids in their beds every time, their toys and stuff laying on the bed when they cleaned were used in the cleaning as below. Very memorable!

The staff overall is great, very polite and professional. Especially Jimmys who works at the main restaurant/bar is amazing. He genuinely seems to love his work and serve the guests to his best ability. I don't usually like it when on a holiday abroad my native language is spoken to (Finnish) me as a sort of gimmick, but Jimmys really wanted to learn, spoke decently well and did it all very naturally and seemed very genuine in his interactions with me. Also makes great milkshakes! Spotted him surprising a group of special needs kids with small milkshakes once, just an amazing person!

Creta Palm is a VERY clean, comfortable, well maintained hotel in a great location for the beach, restaurants, shops and mini markets. The buffet breakfast has something for everyone, the bar snacks are good value for money and good portion sizes (the club sandwich and chips is sufficient for 2 adults) Rooms are a great size, very clean with comfy beds, fluffy towels and hot water all day. We arrived late at night but we were met by a welcoming friendly team and check in was quick and easy. The bus stop is very close with regular buses approx every 10 minutes to Chania Old Town Harbour which is a MUST, beautiful with fabulous restaurants and shops and amazing sunsets. The hotel has 2 lovely warm pools with amazing bar staff on both pool bars (Jimmys, Stratos and Grigoris 😊) very friendly, full of local knowledge and tips on places to eat and visit. A special thank you goes to Jimmys who looked after us around the bar every afternoon/evening, very friendly and welcoming, he recommended some great places to eat both local and at the harbour and is a great character and fun to be around who makes great cocktails, “YAMAS” We would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you for a great holiday, from Julie and Les 🍹🍻🍸😎

Yes the beach is just across the road but we never used sun beds as they all seemed to belong to the beachfront apartments, there didn't appear to be any public sunbeds for hire.
