We are what some misinformed reviewers call specially treated people because we have stayed many times because we know the owners by name. Some people think our rooms are somehow better than others etc etc all of this is not true we are treated and charged the same as everyone else. Having said this my main review this time is to thank the family and staff for there amazing hard work and efforts after the island suffered the worst storm in over 60 years, horrendous rain making roads rivers and damaging shops and businesses and closing several hotels due to the damage. The Morfia suffered but through the work done by the owners we got back to a normal ish holiday quickly. Thank you to you all 👏👏👏👏👏

My parents are both elderly. Before booking the holiday they had requested with Tui that they had a ground floor apartment. Instead of the one of the apartments up the hill. They've arrived and was told the room was uo the hill. My dad explained that tui had said they could get a ground floor room as my mum is waiting to have a double knee transplant, but the owner yet again was ride and obnoxious. Parents are currently trying to get things sorted with Tui app, but I will be given them a wide birth from now. So I personally would say avoid this apartment complex. So many other nice apartments in Troulos that are run by nicer locals.

Response from Kyriaki Ververi, Ιδιοκτήτης at Hotel Morfia
Responded 13 Sept 2023
Dear sir Your parents arrived yesterday in our hotel .they ve stayed with us before so they new the property that there are high block rooms.Second they should of look better the brochure of Tui that is clearly written that the room type they booked is on the high block.Third a request is only a request. The room type controls everything. According for our discussing behavior as you write I will inform you(cause you weren't present)that for 20 minutes I was kindly explained all this to them and that we have no authorisation to do changes(I have witnesses from bar quests and also camera) and they started being aggressive threatening that they get a flight back home, they can book online etc I am not going continue all this cause I ve learned to talk and discuss with people our problems and looking for solutions..no threats or fake blame. And for our behavior as a family I will let all other reviews to talk. I am glad that they came on holidays with positive mood...

Booked through tui. The description of the duplex studio I booked was misleading. I went with my husband and 25 year old son. The accommodation was described as "duplex studios come with a double and twin room" and "a duplex studio for more space with an extra bedroom". This was not the case. It was an open plan studio bedroom with kitchen area, a staircase in the bed area leading up to a mezzanine area with a bed and wardrobe and curtains which did not fit the whole area and did not join in the middle. No door. No privacy whatsoever. When I complained to the tui rep she argued that it was a studio not an apartment but when I showed her the description on the tui website she agreed that it did indeed say an extra bedroom. She said there were no rooms like that on site so nothing she could do but did speak to the staff who said they'd sort out the curtains. A staff member came and put 2 safety pins to join the curtains in the middle but that still meant the were large gaps either side. Because of the attitude of the rep I didn't pursue this anymore but it was not ideal for my son, who has his own house, to have such a lack of privacy. The hotel complex itself is very nice with a good atmosphere and lovely restaurant and bar serving snacks. The area it is situated in is also very good. I complained to tui when I got home and was offered a £15 voucher for Costa coffee. Not good enough. I would not have booked this accommodation if I had known there was no extra bedroom with 4 walls and a door.

Loved our stay with Morfia and her family. She made us feel so welcome. In fact, I think it was possibly the best-run hotel with the warmest welcome I have ever experienced. There are a few things to bear in mind if you are thinking of coming. The chief one being your choice of room as there are a few different blocks. Reasons to stay here: - Genuinely warm welcome where the owners and family soon learn your names and can’t do enough for you - Good value for money - Nice clean pool with plenty of sun loungers - Lovely balcony with views across Troulos and the pool (although check bullet points below on the rooms) - Spotlessly clean and you get fresh towels every other day and a bedding change mid-stay - Possibly the best restaurant in Troulos attached, with plenty of others close by if you get bored with the menu (you probably won’t!) - Never feels too busy or crowded Reasons for caution: - Our room was a little tired and the air con wasn’t effective at all on the mezzanine area (where the double bed is). It was fine for the lower area where the kids are though - Our room was sold as a duplex and Tui implied there there two rooms (it was a worded vaguely) so just check what you’re getting - Air con is €7 per night extra - Although the walk to the beach is only 10-15 mins away, part of it is along a road without a path To note, we came as a family of four (kids 10 and 6) for a week in August, booked through Tui.

Just back from an excellent stay. I emailed the hotel to request a ground floor room for my parents as they have mobility issues and I had read the other reviews. Excellent communication and request was granted. Great customer service from that moment. Sunbeds were available all day every day. You could always get one. Few with umbrellas but if up by half nine easily obtainable. If not there was lots of shade by the bar. This hotel is super clean. The family who run the hotel work their socks off. The lady is always popping out to check the pool clear out leaves etc. all day long! She will also let people know if they’re causing too much noise. That was appreciated. Only happened once mind. The food at the pool bar is very good quality. I highly recommend the Caesar salad. The club sandwich and Greek salad. Greece is expensive now so be prepared. Nothing to do with the hotel just the times. We ate at the on-site restaurant 3 evenings. Best place to eat. Just down the road is a sports bar. Other places to eat are a short walk. We got the bus from just down the road to skiathos town. Was three euros each. One way only. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

What a fabulous two weeks we have just spent at Morfia apartments. From getting off the coach and being greeted by Morfia herself, we couldn't fault one aspect of our stay. Our room was immaculately clean and spacious and had everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay. The gardens were maintained daily and provided a stunning setting as you looked out from your balcony. We didn't use the pool as we prefer to go to the beach but we did use the restaurant Ratatouille for at least seven of our fourteen nights. The food was simply exceptional! Morfia and her family served us each night with outstanding meals which could not be beaten at any other restaurant in Troulos. Morfia apartments were situated within perfect walking distance of the beach, bars and other taverna's. There are also bus stops near by where you can hop on and explore the everything the island has to offer. I would highly recommend these family run apartments, where nothing is too much trouble. It's a hidden gem and we will definitely be back.

We had a peaceful and relaxing stay at the Morfia hotel. Every member of staff was so warm and welcoming. The location is extremely convenient, with 2 supermarkets, a bakery and plenty of tavernas all within minutes walk. It was always very quiet. Our room was in the building up the steps, which although a bit of hard work, meant we had a lovely view from our balcony over the pool and gardens. The room was really spacious, typical Greek style, accommodation. It was extremely clean. The cleaner changed the bins every day and changed our towels/sheets and mopped the bathroom every other day. Even though it was mid August, we didn’t need the air con at all as the room was lovely and cool and airy. We had seen on other reviews issues with other guests reserving sun beds at the crack of dawn, but this was never an issue. No one put towels on beds and left for hours. Every day of our stay there were beds available even late morning. We didn’t have any issue at all getting a sun bed whatever hour of the day it was. The only reason I’m giving this review 4 stars instead of 5 is because we felt the pool could be cleaner. Later in the day there was quite of lot of debris in the pool and there was a green line round the edge in some parts. Also, although we are used to Greek accommodation having hard beds, the beds were a bit lumpy and you could feel the springs. Overall, I would definitely recommend this accommodation and would stay again.

Amazing hotel, clean, friendly. Great location for beach and restaurants. Staff friendly and so hard working. Loved it. The pool area we maintained to such a high standard and always a sunbed available. The aircon was fab, even had to turn it off as git a bit cold.

Hotel Morfia is beautiful. It is a very basic hotel but saying that it is kept up to standards. There are a lot of local supermarkets nearby. And all the staff there are so lovely. We stayed here for 11 nights and we had a great holidays. It’s about a 15/20 minute walk to the beach and it can be quite a tough walk in the hot weather. Even though they say sunbeds should not be reserved people do reserve them quite early. And we even encountered a rude older women who told us we could not sit in two seats that were free next to her by the pool because apparently they were reserved by her. Even though there was no towels on those seats and the whole day no one else came and sat in them. Apart from that every over guest we met was so nice and it was just a great environment to be in. There is a bus stop near the hotel called bus stop 18. If you go and ask for bus stop 0 it takes you into town and near the port and it only costs 3 euros and then you ask for bus stop 18 on your way back. If you ask for any other bus stops it is normally 2 euros bus stop 22 takes you to maratha beach. The tui rep at the hotels are amazing. They also serve food at the hotel between 9 to 3 such as breakfast and sandwiches. There are a lot of food places near by such as ratatouille which is owned by the owners of the hotel they have a great food selection there. It gets quite busy though so book a reservation if you can. Captain Nikos nearby is also great for food. The only other problem we encountered was with the Wi-Fi as it would not work in our room at all. Apart from that it was a great stay and we were really surprised by how good the hotel and staff were.
