Hotel was average - beds were uncomfortable, room's floor and shover were not cleaned every day, tables and floor in the hotels lobby bar were sticky, we had to clean them ourselves. We stayed at this hotel for tje last week of september (last week before end of the season), so the food was the same every day, obviosly trying to finish the leftovers, the bar didn't have half of the cocktails, spirit drinks' options were decreasing every day. On the other hand, the location, the view, outdoor facilities of the hotel were great, so we enjoyed the island, sea and mountains very much.

Thassos is a wonderful island in Northern Greece with some breathtaking views. An ideal place to unwind, relax with a family, and catch up with sleep obviously. And again, if anybody asks me why Thassos is worth seeing, I would certainly say nature, food & hospitality of the Greek. Did I already mention these three aspects in my previous review? Duh, I did....Yet.... Aeolis Thassos Palace has a lot to offer as a modern venue located in Astris close to Kalami beach. Trust me, I know! As a matter of fact, I have travelled there a few times already to form a flattering opinion. Redecorated in 2017 with an ample patio full of comfty sofas to sit on and have a chit-chat or make a phone call. The same patio that is directly connected with a bar - the biggest attraction for men wanting to have a sip or two of their fav beer or just non-alcoholic beverages. did I just say non-alcoholic again? My bad, alochol is sugar after all, you know. But coming back to my review.....The very thirst thing that caught my attention at Aeolis Thassos Palace was tidiness – neat, spacious rooms with a surprisingly nice bathroom. Soap dispensers full and ready to use. Moreover, a pile of fine & fresh towels on the side so damn inviting to make you jump under the shower and wash all the sweat off after your long-awaited/long-hauled flight/ journey. There is undoubtedly a hair-dryer in the room, a TV set with a remote nearby, A/C, a little fridge, a user- friendly safe hidden in the wardrobe, a bunch of hangers for colourful dresses or men's shirts inside. If you ever plan any laundry, there is an outdoor dryer, a coffee table plus a few chairs to have a talk/nap. Still, if you are in need of an iron, freel free to ask for one at the reception desk. They will gladly lend you one so you won't be hanging out with friends and new aquaintances exhibiting your creased clothes. J/k. Staff members are extremely helpful and will always go out of their way to make your stay a memorable experience. The reception is open 24/7, rooms are cleaned daily, the check-in begins at 3pm, check-out at 10am the very next day. You are allowed to leave your luggage in the hotel's lobby. Now, food enthusiasts should stay alert for Aeolis Thassos Palace serves best breakfasts ever with a wide variety of dishes ranging from: yummy pancakes to fried eggs, crunchy home-made bread with a few jam flavours, cereal, fresh fruit & vegetables among which we will surely find sweet Greek onions, chopped, juicy cucumbers & sun-drenched tomatoes/olives. Stop by to grab some Greek white cheese or a slice of ham and I can assure you won't leave the canteen hungry. As for drinks, you have tea served, coffee, hot choco, lime flavoured lemonade, water etc. Dinners begin at 1pm, foodies will get excited about all kinds of meat being prepared, pasta, boiled broccoli or simply grilled potatoes in spices. Vegans will not lodge any complaint for it is Chef Yannis's duty to make you satisfied with the meal and pay attention to every little detail. Moussaka can be perfect choice or a huge slice of pizza. In this particular case, nobody will ever complain! Heaps of 'Gouda' cheese will do the work! Wait, do they use 'Gouda' cheese or is it Mozarella? No idea, TBH! For those who happen to post comments that Astris is too quiet and dull, suprise, surprise, it's far from that! Generally speaking, you have two pools available /one at Aeria Hotel/ + one extra for kids, more shallow. Designed for parents to sit comfortably and watch their kids play in the water. Or join them in. Bear in mind, there is no life-guard hired at the hotel, it is your resposibility to watch over the loved ones. Day after day. Till the end of your stay. The good news is, you can borrow a towel or a sun umbrella for a fixed price. You can buy SPA services, a soothing massage or enjoy a dry sauna/jacuzzi at the hotel. Any more questions left? Usually, all-inclusive service starts at 12pm straight which gives you enough time to find the best spot by the pool or run to the nearest Kalami Beach. The path is not as steep as it seems, it just requires a bit of patience along with stamina. Do wear sturdy shoes though to avoid slipping as stone blocks are laid on the side of the hill leading back up to the hotel. Care to do more steps daily? Choose Giola! A twenty minute walk to see a naturally formed pool replemished by water during high tide. The story goes that Zeus would have a swim with Aphrodite in these blueish waters...Who knows. Curiosity killed the cat! Thrilled to travel & explore Thassos? Arrange a car, order a taxi in advance, buy a one day trip round the island on the premises of Aeolis Thassos Palace by talking to the holiday rep in person. Most recommended destinations include: Limenaria, Panagia, Limenas, Marble Beach, Grand Beach, Potos, Aliki Bay and suclike. Surely, each of you will find something exciting to do. Coffee, satisfactory shopping, a pharmacy visit, a walk in the town, finding best spots to take pics of, multiple options! Last but not least, I would like to thank the Manager of Aeolis Thassos Palace as well as all the hotel staff for paying attention to each little detail, allowing us to have a quick check-in & the choice of rooms. This is without a doubt a traveller-friendly hotel with a lot of top facilities, these people make for a friendly atmosphere, and are willing to make your stay an unforgettable experience. Do not hesitate to pay a visit soon. Dare to explore, dare to travel, fall in love with Greece.

Very comfortable hotel with a lot of attraction. Aeolis Thassos Palace is roomy, with 2 swimming pools and beautifully designed hotel lobby. It was recommended to me by travel agent who said my b/f and I can find peace and quiet there. And yes, situated in nature, near water with a view. The rooms are very clean, the A/C is working okay, and we didn't have any problems with mattresses. In fact, we had plenty good night rest and didn't rush for breakfast. Too lazy, my boyfriend too. That's holidays guys! They give you towel, the bathroom is clean with bath-tub, but we take shower fast and leave to enjoy the outdoors. You can play tennis, hire a car to see Thassos during rain or visit Kalami Beach near the hotel. Stairs leading down are not steep, it's good exercise. We relaxed there all day. We picked rocks, made a pyramid, We also played badminton with other tourists. It was fun! :) And yes, Kalami Beach is sandy, rocks are near the sea. The hotel offers a transfer to Psili Ammos, public beach. The hours are very useful, First ride around 9 am after breakfast to come back for dinner and wash off salt from the sea. Then, you can come back after 3 pm and stay until 6:15 pm. Not bad. My boyfriend thought it was too early to go back, because he was talking in the bar to locals and swimming like a fish in the sea! ;) The food we found amazing and tasty. Italian pizza, all kinds of meat with chicken too, pancakes, fried sausages, boiled eggs, lasagne, grilled eggplants with vegetables, white cheese, beans, yoghurt, ham, home made bread, cakes and fresh Greek fruit. It seems they know how to cook well, and we ate outside, on the patio. My boyfriend loves fresh food so he was eating many salads and fresh feta cheese with olives. His favourite. I did not see him complaining about desserts, because he is in love with jelly, sweet cream and little tarts. He says they make him look more attractive. ;) Sometimes, you will see a cat on the patio, but they don't enter hotel lobby. They come to beg for food and we felt sorry for them. Hotel staff do not let them in. It's very professional of them. All of the persons working at Aeolis Thassos Palace care to make your stay special. Really. A big +. If you have problems with electric socket, ask the reception for help. They are there to help you in need. The bar is open all day and it serves drinks. All inclusive option is about regular coffee, you know, without any syrup. Even in Poland you pay for vanilla syrup extra in cafe or a fast-food restaurant /from 2 to 5pln/ My b/f picked beer which was similar to beer at home. He sat in the evening relaxing to nice music, and trying all the drinks from the list. I chose alcohol-free drinks. We had some money to spare so I got frappe each day and a few scoops of ice-cream /paid/, also SPA treatment. The dry sauna is really nice. It was our holiday. Sky was the limit. We definitely loved our stay for the food, service, views and people. We are already planning to come back next year and travel more and see little villages. Maybe marble beach. I read the previous comment and couldn't believe that Aeolis Thassos Palace is overrated. Nah, it's the best place for couples willing to rest and spend a week or two actively. Doing sports, walking, swimming, sunbathing, reading books, and enjoying each other's company in Thassos. Pack your luggage and start the adventure, leave all your problems behind!

Experience from family of 4 people, 2 kids 3 and 6 years old. This will be reflections of our visit, it may not and is not 100% accurate and may differ from others experience. Let's start with the positives :) 1. The views from the hotel are amazing, 5/5 stars for sure. You can be sure you will like the view, including mountains and sea. Restaurant has some tables in the balcony, were you can enjoy the food in the background of spectacular panorama. 2. Service/personnel are really friendly and polite. At the restaurant, reception, bar - all people answering questions politely and has eager to sort the things out. For example, we complained our room after first night and change of the room was the first option from the reception, which was perfectly fine and quick decision. 3. The food is really good. From our experience, kids ate mostly everything what was chosen by parents. Pork, chicken, fish, salad - all good. Deserts were too sweet for our taste, but we mixed it with bites of watermelon and it worked well :) 4. Swimming pools are clean and big enough, water is refreshing. Near the pool you'll find nice showers under olive trees. We had a few sunny days and found no problem to get a sunbed. 5. Giola pool may be reached by foot. We took a challenge and went there with kids (3 and 6 years old). About 800m up the hill, total 1.5km. Make sure your punks will handle it :) So what's wrong with the hotel? :) 1. Matrasses. At least in our rooms we stayed (103 and 116) - they were horrible. We asked neighbors to give feedback about their sleep quality and they've confirmed beds are really uncomfortable. I would say matrasses are totally worn out. Pillows we've got were too tall. We asked to change the pillows, but they were out of the smaller pillows, reception called these as the old ones, so I suspect new pillows are too tall :) So, me and my wife were sleeping awfully, getting up with back and neck aches. To start the day, we were forced to do some stretching exercises. Sometimes we awake at night and willing for the morning to come. 2. Room quality. The first room we were placed 116 was worn out. Shower head had no hanger on the wall, so it was lying in the bath. Yes, it was a bath, no shower cabin in that room, no bath plug also :) The tiles' filling around the shower was muddy from humidity and dust. The AC in that room was so loud it was impossible to use it at night. Even at the low speed it was rattling loudly. While AC was not the option, we tried to open the balcony, but if you do so, you will hear your neighbors, especially if they've opened the balcony as well :) We had a young couple near to us, so I was entertained by their awwws and ooohs :) The second room we've got was 103 and it was all OK with shower cabin and AC. 3. Beach. The Kalami beach you may reach by foot - I would rate it 1/5 star. The steps to the Kalami are pretty steep and long, so you will have some sweat to burn when you'll climb back to the hotel. Only rocks there, no sand. We never tried to swim there, but you may find official info that you'll need shoes. However, hotel provides scheduled free transfers to Psili Ammos beach (5min by car). Psili Ammos is sandy and great for swimming, no rocks there, nice beach music from the bar. However, it is pretty crowded. I would suggest you to check neighbor Astrida Beach, however you will need to take a 700m trip through the driving lane by foot from Psili Ammos. More scheduled transfers or flexible transfers to the beach should be offered. There is only one time in the morning 9AM when hotel is lifting you there. The earliest backward transfer is at 1PM. In the afternoon, there are more options towards and backwards. 4. No activities around the hotel. If you are out of luck with the climate (as we were), you have barely what to do there. There is no village or town, no tavernas, souvenirs or smth. I would rate the hotel gym for 2/5 star. 6 exercise machines, some of them out of order, most of the rest is for warm up. No dumbbells or rugs, so yeah, the gym sucks for sure. I would rate game room for 1/5 star. Most of the game tables are worn out: battered 8-ball-pool sticks, detached table soccer handles, air hockey plugged into dangerous 220v outlet. On top of that, the playroom AC was out of service during our visit. Since the room is in the basement, all the playroom equipment were greasy, the room was full of sweat odors and simply missing fresh air. However, the table tennis equipment was OK. 5. The drinks. Local spirits for cocktails, no syrups or other extras used, only alcohol mixed with beverages and ice, you will need some time to find yours best :) Try the one called Aeolis, it was OK :) The filter coffee from the machines was no good for sure. The beer on tap is very light, with really bad odor, however the taste was quite OK while using with food. The wines taste were OK, but I've hot an impression it's watery. In the end, I would not recommend the hotel and I will definitely would not come back there. Sadly, TripAdvisor and my trip agent ratings for Aeolis is high and not reflecting our experience. Once again: your experience may be different :)

If you are tired of working long hours, doing overtime, do consider staying at Aeoliss Thassos Palace for a week or two. You will surely be amazed at the views from your hotel room along with very professional & accomodating service. The hand-picked staff along with the hotel's manager will look after you and provide you with all the necessary information. Thassos is undoubtedly one of my most favourite destinations in the world. A picturesque island in the Northern part of Greece with plenty of sandy beaches and friendly locals. And the region itself, Astris, drew my attention instantly. With a beautifully designed Aeolis Thassos Palace, built closely to a wild, rocky beach, is definitely a dream come true venue for tourists seeking peace & quiet. And yet again, I am under great impression regarding food choices offered in the all-inclusive option i.e. tasty breakfasts in the canteen with fresh eggs, olives and pancakes to start your day. One also cannot miss traditional meat recipes such as: moussaka or a home-made pizza on a crunchy dough topped with olives and tasty veggies etc. Worth each bite. Finally, ending the day with a plate full of juicy, sun- drenched fruit dipped in natural yoghurt. My guilty pleasure! Aeolis Thassos Palace offers car rentals to explore the rest of the island, beauty services such as: SPA & relaxing massages. There is a gym available, and of course a wi-fi connection, if you decide to to get caught up with a backlog of e-mails from work and so on. Don't forget to rent a tennis court for an hour or two. It does make a difference, to challenge yourself once in a while. Now, good news for children who will be thrilled to swim in a separate, shallow pool on the right of the bar with a few sunbeds placed in the front. Little treats e.g. ice-cream are being served in the afternoon as well as popcorn. For kids who are into play, an ample playground is right next to the patio, down the stairs. Who needs more, right? Obviously, there is great emphasis put on cleaniness in each room, a few towels land on the sofa nearby, and most receptionists are at your disposal 24/7. A tiny bottle of soap, shampoo rests on your wash-basin while the balcony is quite roomy and inviting to sit with a book on a less hot day. Thus, if you still have no plans for the summer of 2022, do rush to book a room now. The entire hotel comes top of most hotels in the region, so rest assured, your holiday jaunt will turn out to be a highly-memorable experience giving you space for soul searching & a short-lived reprival from everyday duties & professional responsibilities. At this point, I'm taking this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the way Aeolis Thassos Palace is run and the manager's effort to make each guest feel right at home! A well-deserved recognition for him and a round of applause to the team that made my holidays possible!

This hotel is used by a nearby hotel. The hotel is located about 3km from the nearest shops. About 300m to a small private beach where it is difficult to swim: rocks, sea urchins, although there are sunbeds and sunbathing, and it is impossible to go with a disability or an elderly person, because you have to go down a steep hill, although there are stairs, but it is dangerous. The hotel itself is compact: next to the swimming pool, there is also a bar and a restaurant. The hotel is compact: next to a small swimming pool with a children’s pool, next to a bar and a restaurant. The girl working at the bar is amazing, she is just God dedicated to working at the bar. With my help, I even learned a few words in Lithuanian. Sincere wishes to her and all the staff. Cleanliness, order and good Covid safety at this hotel.

We stayed here in Sep. 2021 for 2 nights on our "road trip" by car. The offered bargain price was very reasonsable for this hotel standard. Very clean, very kind staff. We loved the quiet, (almost) private beach just below the hotel and also the "secret" upper guest pool. However, the eating and buffet room got sometimes a bit full. We had a very memorable stay here.

How many times have you promised to yourself you would unwind, yet it never happened? How many times have you had Thassos in mind while browsing through holiday offers online? How many times have you stumbled upon a breathtaking view you couldn't take your eyes off? Probably way too many times to decide to pack your bags and set off to Thassos, an island full of inner charm and beauty, offering you a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The place off the beaten tourist track, with a population of over 13.000 people /2011 census report/, 390km2 wide, ferry accessible, in the northern side of the Aegean sea. If you looked closer at a map of Thassos, you would definitely find a small village in the very South called Astris where the Aeolis Thassos Palace Hotel has been built. A luxurious venue hosting thousands of tourists each summer from all corners of the world. Nicely designed, with a modern, spacious lobby & the reception working 24/7. Also, a welcoming bar to grab a drink as you go, with tiny white tables stretching alongside a wide patio & comfortable sofas nearby to have a read on. Two swimming-pools, one reserved for children, surrounded by sunbeds area. Free wi-fi, clean rooms, with each overlooking the Aegean sea & Kalami beach which is a perfect spot to lay your eyes on the first thing in the morning as you wake up. To tell you the truth, it has been my second visit to Aeolis Thassos Palace for I fell in love with the place some years back and longed for returning to Thassos. The pandemic made it even worse for all of us which determined me to reserve a room at this fabulous hotel this summer. We all come to a point in life when we just want to give it a try, explore something & build memories upon everywthing we experience. The same was with me, willing to enjoy open spaces on Thassos, feeling safe & knowing the hotel along with its staff keeps the highest strandards at a time of a pandemic & implements all health-related measures rigorously so that our stay becomes a memorable yet COVID-free experience. And again, Aeolis Thassos Palace passed the test flawlessly. I wouldn't dream of a better approach to this as both, a traveller & a Greece enthusiast. Foodwise, Aeolis Thassos Palace served plenty of exquisite meals at a Panorama restaurant. I admired the variety of food, and have to disagree with a bunch of former reviwers who had written the food seemed boring and predictable. Quite the contrary. The Aeolis Thassos Palace chef goes to the extra mile to make sure we are properly seated & receive the best quality dish, also hot. Aditionally, he is the one responsible for providing cold drinks to us which happens to be a nice gesture. The rest of the kitchen staff is courteous and very responsive to our kind requests. To give you an example, for breakfast we had a wide range of salads, fresh olives & feta cheese to put on a plate, dairy products, boiled eggs etc. Drinks included all types of coffee, cold drinks e.g. soda & black/green tea. Dinners focused on local cuisine with a tiny influence of a European one, though. To name a few, steamed vegetables, all types of grilled, juicy lamb meat, seafood, pasta with delicious sauces, vegetable salads, steamed baby carrots. In other words, an ideal selection for vegans & healthy food lovers. Obviously, one cannot forget about delicious desserts which would satisfy any kind of a gournmand/kid with an exceptional selection of Greek cakes, fresh, juicy fruits, cream filled tarts and so on and so forth. An all-inclusive option lets us enjoy oodles of different alcohol/alcohol-free drinks at the bar. If you get lucky, you can grab a few delicious mini ice-cream for kiddos starting at 5pm, Greek time. I really enjoyed Greek frappe for which I paid extra. To my surprise, I gor a cup full of crumchy cookies with choco which was a nice addition to my coffee. Another point to make would be attractions on the island itself. Taking into account the fact that the Aeolis Thassos Palace is situated among hills & olive trees, there aren't many shops to be encountered in close proximity. However, this isn't a disadvantage at all, you can order a taxi from the hotel and choose a few destinations on Thassos, to name the closest, Potos and Limenaria. The latter one is full of tiny shops run by locals which invite you to buy souvenirs, Greek spices, fashionnable jewellery and clothing. All you need is time and money. To relax, you can pick a seat at a harbour restaurant and choose something from the menu, fresh seafood would seem like a perfect choice. This time, I have also noticed a fancy gastro-pub at one city corner leading to the sea. With a couple of locals drinking beer and having an afternoon chit-chat. What to want more in life, right? Panagia is another town worth visiting on our Thassos holidays for it has a love bridge to light an eternal flame in our relationship/marriage and instill respect for each other. Futhermore, the city takes pride in oil manufacturing that's why we can purchase natural olive oil based products ranging from dry body oil to hair strengthening oil at a very reasonable price. As crazy as it might sound, the real beauty of Panagia is seen in some narrow streets going up the hill sometimes, and tiny patisseries scattered in the neighbourhood with multi-coloured cake displays & irresistable baking smell coming out its main pastry stoves. It all adds to a final impression as a whole. Apparently, Panagia's inhabitants love and cultivate art which is expressed in house decorations e.g. A Snowhite with a bunch of dwarfs, Bambi or Swans sitting proudly on the edge of the porch or a balcony. To make a long story short, Panagia is unlike any place I have seen in the world. More importantly, its uniqueness should be preserved and kept for future generations. All in all, I highly recommend a stay at Aeolis Thassos Palace for they have exceptional service and always make sure you enjoy your stay. Everything is well-organised, clean, neat & you can get the feel of living on Thassos island. Breathtaking views & sunny weather are just another attraction, with the sun setting or raising right in the earrly morning. It's a perfect site to escape everyday struggles, unwind with a glass of local wine and recharge peacefully for a couple of colder months ahead. Do consider staying at Aeolis Thassos Palace for it's an ideal gatewaway destination. I would also want to extend many thanks to the Manager of the Aeolis Thassos Palace Hotel for running the place with care and paying attention to cleaniness of the rooms, accomodating staff, all health-care protocols in a pandemic, i.e. all the measures taken to make my stay an unforgettable experience. I truly admire your dedication and understand all the challenges you have had faced this season. Yet, you have excelled at providing safety and evoking an atmosphere of relaxation. A big thank you.
