Elpida Village is a beautiful hotel with amazing view. We were expecting to have a room but it was actually a suite, which was a bonus. It was clean. A bit disappointing though that the fridge was empty. Some of the staff was friendly, especially Maria the receptionist, and Hara

Actually it includes Vodka, Rum, Tequila and Gin (in addition to Ouzo, Raki, White and Rose or Red Wine, Beer and Brandy) - but not sparkling wine. Thank you.

Hello, The public transport is not quite reliable, you can wait at the bus stop for hours, that's what we were told by our experienced travel guide. Our travel agent recommended us the car rental company, sorry, the name fell out of my memory... But I suppose the same company is very well known by the hotel staff, just ask at the reception. It's very comfortable as you can sign papers at the hotel and they provide the ordered car to the hotel parking lot plus you just leave it there after your rental period expires and hand the keys over to the receptionist. Done! The prices were very reasonable, we were not looking for the lowest rate on the market. Most important - they offer FULL COVER if it comes to the insurance, and Greece is not the most friendly place for the 'foreign' drivers, you can have my word for that! Another way to get to Heraklion and get the most our of the trip is to join one of the guided tours including Knossos Palace and Archeological Museum. Enjoy your holidays, you'll like Crete and the hotel itself! Iwona

Hello, the drinks served within all inclusive package are: local wine and beer, also ouzo and raki, you can combine them with soft drinks, mainly fizzy ones. During daytime, between the meals there are some snacks served at the pool bar, one day there is a cake, another one you get cheese and ham sandwich which you can toast yourself if you want. Ice cream which is available every day is of very low quality, I don't recommend it honestly... All in all, you cannot be hungry during your all inclusive stay in Elpida, it's rather a challenge to choose wisely what not to eat :-) Show cooking, you mean you watch the cook making your scrumbled eggs as per your personal recipe? Oh, no, not this class of the hotel. Anyway some days there are cooking shows performed by one of the employees, native Greek lady named Hara, who encourages guests to cook with her great regional Greek/Cretan specialities, we were lucky to watch her preparing some delicious sweet&salty fried dumplings with feta filling, topped with local honey, everybody had a lot of fun during the show, you cannot miss it definitely!
