This was our fourth visit to this hotel, the last time being 9 years ago and yet again we weren't disappointed

This hotel is just absolutely perfect. The rooms are typically Greek, so all the basics are there - fridge, Aircon, safety deposit box and TV, we had 2 wardrobes and plenty of drawers for storage. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean, the room was serviced every day with a good system for towels, when you want clean ones, leave your dirty ones on the floor, otherwise hang them on the rail if you are happy to use them again always plenty of hot water available.

The breakfast has lots of choice and lovely fresh Greek bread help yourself to hot drinks. The location is perfect, a short walk into the village, it overlooks the beach and has beautiful gardens, plenty of room for parking if you have hired a car

I only have one observation to make, and that is the price of beer in the bar, they were charging 5 euros for a bottle of beer or for a pint of draught lager, whereas in the village the prices were around the 3.50 euros mark, quite a difference and it is possibly why the bar always seemed very quiet in the evenings when we arrived back. In my eyes, the hotel is still worthy of a 5 star review, we will definitely be going back

Last but definitely not least, the staff are brilliant, everyone is so friendly and helpful, some remembered us from our previous stay 9 years ago!

It was our first time in Lesvos and we couldn't have chosen better, both the resort of Skala Kallonis and the hotel. Rooms were basic but clean, the led lights behind the headboard gave a nice modern touch to the room. We requested a large balcony and were given a huge terrace shared by 3 rooms but each having a private area too. We had views of both garden and sea so the best of both worlds. The breakfast area was lovely and the breakfast though typically Greek was very good and plentiful. We loved the pool area, the pool is huge and very clean. There was only one day we were unable to get a sunbed so literally crossed the road to the beach and spent a few hours on their free sunbeds with the most amazing breeze to keep us cool. We had a couple of snacks from the poolside bar which we thought were very good and reasonably priced. There was no inside bar open and the pool bar shut at 11pm, which was fine by us, perfect for a quick drink on returning from our evening meal before retiring to our balcony. It was never busy but Peter the barman kept us entertained. Skala Kallonis was very pretty and there were enough tavernas/restaurants to give choice of where to eat. There was also a couple of small mini markets, a pharmacy and an ATM. We would definitely return at some point.

We have had our first week at this hotel. We had a great relaxing time. The staff are all very friendly & more than helpful. The breakfasts are very enjoyable. The pool area is great with plenty of sun beds.
The room we were in 218 needs the shower updating the shower curtain needs to be removed & replaced with a glass screen on the outside of the drain.
The management surprise me,no UK tour operators now list this hotel making it very expensive uk citizens to travel. If a uk tour operator was used we could travel with our cases & transfer to the hotel included in the price. Without the operator we have to pay the extra costs involved.

Have stayed here a few times before and still no updates. Breakfast fine but simple. Rooms could be painted and cleaned better. Some of the towels must be the originals from when the hotel was built. Outside chair in balcony and round pool uncomfortable.

A quiet location and only a brief walk to the busy village center. Has a wonderful large pool as well as chairs on the beach. Awesome breakfast included and a delightful staff. Our family enjoyed our trip to Lesvos and we look forward to returning to Kalloni Bay next year.

Delightful hotel - agree with other reviewers it was a little tired around the edges but this simply did not matter, ideal location overlooking the beach/bay, simple rooms - typical for Greece, the staff especially the lady at breakfast and the maids were friendly and welcoming, breakfast was good, lots of choice and very pretty flower filled terrace to sit out on every morning whilst enjoying the local honey and yoghurt with fresh figs, the gardens were beautiful and well tended.
We visited in August, family of 3 (2 adults and 12 year old), little village centre excellent in the evenings for a relaxing meal.
I will certainly be returning and the only reason I would not want to recommend it would be that I am selfish and don't want hoards to people to go there!

A lovely place to stay, with very friendly staff who were extremely hard working , but not intrusive. The rooms were comfortable especially the beds and were kept immaculately clean on a daily basis. The breakfasts were plentiful and choice varied as was the evening menu if you chose to stay in. Located in a quiet area within walking distance to the local village with its harbour, church and numerous bars and tavernas. The pool was massive and well maintained as were the gardens. The only downside was not being able to get BBC world news on the tv , but this was probably a benefit as you were unaware of the outside world adding to the ability to allow you to switch off completely.

My wife and I for the last 30 years have been all over Greece we have been self catering and B/B but believe me this is the best hotel we have stayed in I'm not going to give you any flannel but the food, staff and the cleanliness and condition of our room was perfect and the grounds of the hotel are a joy.Skala Kalloni itself is a nice quiet village it has the typical Greek square where the children played well into the night, don't take any notice of the negative remarks about the tavernas they were all ok.If you are the kind that needs loud music etc this is not the place for you but if you like a place where you meet the same people every night and share a bottle of wine or a pint or two well Skala is certainly the place for you.We were there last year the first two weeks in July and today 15/2/2014 we have booked another two weeks at the Kalloni Bay Hotel

Me and my boyfriend (I am 26, he is 29) have just returned from Skala Kalloni for a week. we stayed at the Kalloni 2 hotel, and found it absolutely fine for what we wanted, a bit of sun and relaxation. It was very basic, but extremely clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was nice, but very quiet at this time of year. It has a pool bar which wasn't open but was just about to when we left which would be nice. The resort is majorly quiet, there were only a very small handful of tourists, the rest were locals. There were about 10 restaurants and only 1 or 2 shops so not much to do at night. We were not that bothered, but any one looking for lots to do, this is definatly not for you. The beach wasn't very nice, we were told by our rep and had read on one review that it was lovely, and the picture on the First Choice website made it look lovely, but it wasnt (more like dirt than sand).
The majority of tourists coming to Skalla Kalloni are birdwatchers, so it is good for one thing! The square and the restaurants in it are the best ones to go to, and there are a couple right on the beach next to the harbour that had lovely views of the mountains.
To summarise, we wouldn't go back, there are far more attractive, lively greek islands.

Yes. Also you get a fridge which is very quiet and extremely useful for making picnic/packed lunch. Take a fold up cool bag.
