What a lovely place to stay while exploring the ruins and the gorge. This is the end of the world? Bring it on. Yiannis Retreat is a lovely accommodation option. Rooms are smallish but not claustrophobic with beautiful design elements. The gardens are wonderful. It is a pleasant walk to the ruins and tavernas on the beach. Would I stay...

We briefly visited Kato Zakros a couple of years ago, when driving around Eastern Crete and wanted to come back (the last week of a two-week stay in Greece - a few days in Athens and a few days in Gialtra in Northern Evia with Greek friends - it's a lovely place also). First, Kato Zakros. It is simply my...

Adorable room with an amazing view. The uniqueness of this place is astonishing. The weather may not have been the best, but even so still beautiful. Should've taken my walking boots as there are plenty of routes to choose from. The tavernas by the beach are all good. Friday night is a quiet one which is just what we needed....

We found this place really quiet and peaceful, almost at the end of the island. It in a kind of oasis. The owners are really nice. You won't find a lot of things to do there, except hicking in the valley of deaths. So if you need somewhere really quiet to stay on a chaise longue or a hamac, that's...

The village of Kato Zakros on Crete is a bit of a hidden gem in its Eastern coastal location. Somewhat off the beaten path, Kato Zakros is definitely worth the visit. During our peaceful drive there from Sitia, we only encountered one or two other cars. If you plan a trip here, prepare yourself for a quiet setting. Yiannis Retreat...

The garden is separated in three uneven levels with natural fences and trees that create private corners for your personal privacy. We invite you to visit Kato Zakros, and have the chance to discover the eastern part of Crete, see the Natural-wild beauty and enjoy the clean beaches.
