Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well you be been coming to this resource for over 15 years rains snow or shine but this year the Atlas theatre has been so cold in the evening for the shows it been a struggle to enjoy. The entertainment had been brilliant but you may as well be sitting out site not a nice comfortable relaxing experience they say there is nothing wrong with the heating all the other areas are fine. But the theatre is absolutely freezing not what I’ve expected or been used to in the past

Just returned home from my second solo break at Hopton, those of you not sure of going solo stop worrying ,get booked up. You wont be lonely for long. Very cold outside , butplenty to entertain indoors Mark Brewer at lunchtime was very good, the christmas spectacular was as usual a wonderful show, how anybody can compare Potters with Warners is laughable. My only critcism is the beer, Potters prides itself on the best of everything is a free house but has tied itself to Greene King, not the best brewery and now offering Ruddles best Greene King shut Ruddles many years ago, this is a poor copy of the original. May I suggest that they look local at Lacons just up the road in Great Yarmouth who brew some very good beers or Woodfordes near Norwich.

Have been to Potters a few times before, and can't fault it, food, entertainment, staff all first class ... On our last break, my husband was taken ill, rather than wait for the ambulance, two members of staff took us to the hospital, they gave me their number to ring when/if I needed to get back. After spending two nights in A & E my husbsnd was well enough to come back, ready for us to return home, the staff were amazing, they went above and beyond with their help and kindness, and i can't thank them enough

I have had hoidays in many places but none can compare with potters. There is not an area where potters fall down. Food, entertainment, activities and refreshments. Service is of the very highest order. Every single person we ame across was happy and so helpful. The atmosphere is created not only by the staff but also the guests who go there.

All staff members worked really hard and were nice and friendly. Segway guy was super helpful. Bungalows were spacious and cosy. We enjoyed all the lovely food and the choice of all inclusive drinks were fabulous. We enjoyed the shows and all the entertainment. We played bingo , on looking at how many books were sold and what prize money was given back , I calculated you were only getting 50% of the prize money back on the 6 page book.( btw that’s just my calculations ) I’m still waiting for Potters to let me know how they share the prize money. So I would give bingo a miss next time! Resort was super clean and sanitised. Yes I would definitely recommend this lovely holiday village.

Looking for a weekend getaway with friends, we decided to visit the much hyped and lauded Potters Resort at Hopton, we have visited a number of Warner Hotels, so thought it was time to try somewhere different. For us, Potters was a big let down, especially when you read all the comments on the Potters face book page, clearly this venue works for many of the returning guests, but how can it be that many of the guests visit several times a year. For us, once you have experienced Potters, that’s it, nothing is different next time round, same daytime activities, likely you will be watching the same evening entertainment, and the restaurant menu, more about that later. I must say that the evening shows were very good, and as a 1st time visitor the day time activities had plenty of choice and were free to participate in. Additionally our hotel room was large, clean, but the bathroom was tired, so consider this one step up from a premier inn. But for us, that was the only good points. Our biggest problem was the food and beverage quality. How Potters have a reputation for serving great food is beyond me. Sure the breakfast was fine, but the lunch and dinner options were for us poor quality and on nearly every occasion, just warm, or in the case of the hot chocolate brownie just cold ! We also found the quality of some dishes to be questionable, the meats, the alleged dressings on the food at best a gravy, but given a grand name, but certainly not living up to our expectations. In the restaurant they only serve wine and water at the table, so if you wanted anything else, you had to order from the bar in the garden room, wait to be served then carry your drink across the bar, through a corridor and if you are unlucky enough to be upstairs for dining then up the stairs you go with drink in hand. How this can be considered a 5* experience is a total joke and I am also surprised there are not health and safety implications with this, especially during the family breaks, when children are on site. We also found the quality of the draught lagers to be really poor. I tried all 3 draught lagers but they all tasted the same, flat, tasteless and not served in the correct glass, in the end I gave up and switched to the bottled options. I spoke to one of the staff about the quality of the beers and he agreed, saying that he would not drink them either - some endorsement !! I did speak to a duty manger on the Sunday morning, shared my experience and how disappointed we were. She listened, asked if I would t return to Potters, if so, I would receive a voucher for a discount, I said we would not return, she then offered a a bottle of bubbly for our table, I declined, I was not doing this to receive a freebie , but just to share our genuine disappointment with our experience, she said she would share my feedback with the section heads, and that was that. On my return home, I put my complaint in writing to the team at Potters. I had a response from Angela Bennett the Guest Services Manager, and what a waste of time that was. Her response was just bland platitudes, share with the managers, no one else complained about the choice or quality, I did not mention choice just the quality, serving a wider choice of drinks in the restaurant would compromise service, well I would like to understand why this is a problem for Potters , and not other comparable destinations, perhaps look at your competitors. So the reality is , I was fobbed off with the excuse, Potters feel the break was a success based on overall feedback, so basically my opinion or experience did not matter. Therefore because the returning guests feedback was positive, and why would it not be, my personal experience really did not matter. On this basis it’s easy to understand why Potters claim to be a 5* resort, because they ignore feedback that is not positive and dismiss the actual experience had by any guest who has the temerity to complain. Unfortunately for Potters, I have already advised colleagues not to consider this a venue for a vacation, and I shall continue to do so, it’s really not all it’s cracked up to be. My advice try somewhere else.

This is the 2nd time we’ve taken part in a Bowls break here (Mon - Fri); the last one being 4 years ago. Everything is as good as it was then, and it’s great not having to worry about money, as most of it is all inclusive. The staff, from the reception down to the maintenance staff are hardworking, polite and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Good clean room with lovely comfy bed. A bit odd having an adjoining door to another room, but apparently it can be classed as a family room. So nice to have the radiators on in our chalet (which were needed as the weather wasn’t great) and not have to worry about the energy bill ! 😁 Great choice of food, (either waiter service or self service) especially for lunch and evening meal. There’s even another sitting late evening if you’re feeling hungry. Plenty of activities for all ages, even if you aren’t playing bowls. If you want a change of scenery, there’s always a walk along the seafront which is a short distance away. Evening entertainment is varied with comedians: we enjoyed Jack Jenkins, and shows involving dancers and singers. If I was to be critical, there are just a couple of things that could have been better. 1. The guys that were involved with the bowls games, eg. collecting the mats and jacks for cleaning, didn’t have to look so miserable and be so grumpy - just take a tip from the other staff ! 2. The coffee in the bar area near the bowling could have been a lot hotter. 3. Although the tables in the above area were cleared, the tables need cleaning. However, this didn’t spoil what was a really enjoyable 5 days. Well done 👏

Potters is a lovely resort. I have been visiting potters for around 5 years and it is just incredible. If you have children ages around 8-15 you can expect them to be busy all day with non stop activities, they have plenty of nice food with a big selection and all inclusive drinks. Lots of activities to do together such a hoy bingo and disco bingo. There is also a beach and people are really friendly.
