The rooms are all fabulously themed and the themes determine the decor in all the rooms, with some having a balcony. There are lots of interesting items to look at and the house is from the Art Deco period, decorated immaculately and maintained to a high standard and very clean. The beach is only a few minutes walk away and this makes for a lovely place to stay and explore this part of the Kent coast. Expect a warm welcome, a lovely breakfast and a good place to relax overnight or a base to stay for a few days. The beach is only a few minutes walk away.

We've just returned from the wonderful Art Deco Twentieth Century B&B at Birchington-On-Sea. The owners Kat & Spencer are the loveliest of hosts and are rightly proud of their achievement in renovating & decorating the Art Deco building. We've stayed in many B&Bs and this is the best ever. Kat clearly enjoys hosting & Spencer loves his cooking, add to that their clear love for this property & the stories it brings. Book yourself in & you'll see what I mean. Before reviewing the room(s) we have to mention the breakfast service in the stunning Art Deco breakfast room, we were made to feel like VIPs & nothing was too much trouble. Ingredients are from their local producers & you’ll see Kat picking whatever is in season from her own garden. Spencer told me about a Cloud Egg that he had never cooked before & I'd never heard of (unsweetened baked meringue with yolk nested into the top). Have it on top of his herb pancake with mushrooms in sauce and you'll be singing their praises too, I could eat them every day. Read on for a bit about our Amy Johnson room & the other rooms, which we were lucky enough to be shown. There are four beautiful themed rooms of people with links to the surrounding area: Amy Johnson room, Amy died when her plane crashed along the coast near Herne Bay. Kat has researched the aviator & has so much knowledge to impart. David Bowie room, Kat is a huge fan & aficionado with many interesting stories to tell, including personal connections. The other rooms are: Tudor Gates room a Mid-century furnished room featuring screenwriter & former owner Tudor Gates. Baron & Lady Carson Art Deco Suite named after the original land owners, but as you'll hear there is a lot more to them than that. We could go on & on about how much we enjoyed the Twentieth Century but it’s time for us to return to the 21st Century. A fabulous art-deco b&b with wonderfully-themed rooms, in a great location near to Minnis beach and Birchington railway station. Sound good? Great breakfast choices, which if the weather is nice and you’ve got the appropriate room, you can take on your balcony. Lots of quirky design touches inside, including bathroom flooring straight from The Shining. Sound even better? Well, in spite of all that, the best thing about this particular b&b is the owners, who after even just a half-hour chat will feel like old friends. We’ve often said of a place that we must go back there; this is the only place where we’ve actually done it, and will do so again.

The 20th Century B&B had been on my radar for a while, and we finally got to visit last weekend. We stayed in the Baron & Lady Carson suite, which was delightful and we were lucky enough to have good weather so we had our breakfast on the private balcony. Kat & Spencer are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble to make their guests comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful one night stay at Twentieth Century B&B. We stayed at the B&B because we were going to a Sir Tom Jones concert in Margate for my main birthday present. Our room was spotless and very quirky! We had the David Bowie room. It was small, but just the right size for us. Our (private) bathroom was next door – very spacious with everything looking brand new. The owners surprised us at breakfast, buying me a little birthday gift, card and balloon. Such a lovely touch. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. We both had the full English. As we were the last guests to leave, we were shown around the other rooms, which were also really well decorated, clean and quirky. We will definitely stay here again if another concert crops up! Wedding The Location is Great and really easy to get too. The Room we stayed in was the David Bowie room and Lived up to its name We had a Good old English Breakfast which was served hot and Tasty, Both Kat and Spencer were Great Hosts, with great Stories about the Location and House and both very Passionate about their B&B which shows in the décor and their Passion to keep the Customers Happy , be it in my Case with Spencer wearing a Retro Leeds Utd football top Once he Knew My Team All in all a Great Place to chill and Relax and with Very Nice Hosts

Kat & Spencer made us very welcome, our room was lovely, we ate a lovely breakfast on our balcony every morning & were just a stone's throw from the beach & a really friendly micropub. Would definitely recommend & will return. Thank you both for making out stay so fantastic. 11 out of 10 .

This house is a beautiful place. The owners have made a welcoming and fascinating art deco home with various themed room. Ours was furnished with 1930s furniture in excellent condition. The en suite was modern and had retro fittings. The room was equipped with everything you would expected in a 4 star hotel and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious. The owners chatted to us about the house and also advised on a local restaurant which was excellent. The area is well worth a visit for anyone but as cyclists we had a fantastic time. We will certainly return and stay in this wonderful house.

Just got back from a 2 night stay and it was beyond expectation. We stayed in the Bowie room and I had to drag my other half out as the room is just amazing. The bathroom is next door is huge and the attention to detail is second to none. Kat and Spencer were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble even down to offering me different types of pillows. Breakfast was great and there was so much choice and everything was cooked to order. Would stay here again

Very clean. Immaculately looked after. Owners really take pride in all they do. Totally delicious breakfast. Smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast for me. Beautifully styled rooms. We stayed in Amy Johnson room and had a lovely breakfast on the terrace looking into their garden. Minnis bay and Birchington have lots to offer.
