We had an amazing family weekend here last week, we hired a caravan from Karen Gammon privately . Karen and her husband were there to greet us, the caravan was immaculate and they had even brought us a welcome kit which we weren’t expecting containing bacon , eggs, butter and bread. Which was a lovely surprise. They catered for our little ones as we had use of a high chair and plastic cutlery, plates and cups, we have stayed in caravans before on other sites and they have never provided us with kid friendly items, so it was a massive help not having to bring our own high chair etc. Birchington vale itself was lovely we were in a quiet location and the kids club was great, our kids loved the pool and the outside park, my husband loved the food and drinks on offer. They also cater for allergies which is a bonus, as 1 of ours is anaphylactic. We will definitely be returning and hiring the caravan next year. Thanks so much 🤩

We visited the park for a mid week break last week. On arrival - key collection went very smoothly, we arrived at 4.30 to miss the rush. The caravan was spotless, both Clare and Louise remembered me and my mum from our previous visit last year, which was very welcoming. As previous reviews have stated there is hand sanitiser stations at all the main areas, shop, play park etc. Weather apart from one day was lovely, we visited minnis bay every day picking up a snack, coffee etc at the VSL cafe by the car park. We’ve found all staff at Birchington Vale extremely welcoming from ground keepers, housekeeping, shop assistants. Should you arrive at your accommodation and find any utensils or bedding is missing - contact reception and they’ll sort out as soon as they reasonably can. Once again we can’t thank the park enough for making our stay a lovely experience.

We have just returned from a 2 night break in one of the pods. Was really pleasantly surprised on the location of the pods, right by the swimming pool, shop, bar and less than 1 minute away from the toilets & showers which were only for the use of the pods which I thought was great. There was 2 adults & 1 puppy and it was such a lovely couple of days peace and quiet. The pod is bigger than it looks in the photos, we bought a travel kettle and a few disposable bbqs but paid for the bed linen to be provided by the park. Loved it that much, I’ve already rebooked to go back with some friends 🙌🏽

Stayed here as a family of 4 and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the place and friendliness of the staff. Bins are emptied regularly and there's plenty to do here such as crazy golf, swimming, play park, arcades and evening entertainment, segways, pottery etc.

Elliot and Lewis working at the swimming pool particularly stood out... we took the kids swimming and due to Covid, had to book a slot. We witnessed the pool with restricted numbers of people, Elliot and Lewis gave it a thorough clean with disinfectant before and after our session and they were good at enforcing social distancing on the slide. We also forgot our little girls armbands and our sons goggles and Elliot kindly found us some old ones in the lost property to borrow. They were fab! Thank you for all your help in making the pool fun and keeping us safe!

This review is more for the pool than anything.. We stayed 5 days and went swimming most days. The kids loved it and the life guards, Lewis, jack and Eadie, were amazing. So friendly, highly attentive to our 5 extremely active kids with varying levels of swimming ability and the level of cleanliness was very high. The time slots in light of covid rules worked well and 35 mins was just about the right amount of time with 5 kids 6 and under. Thanks to the team!

Booked a last minuted stay for a Gold Plus Caravan, was set at a good price, on arrival check in was quick and easy. Direction to Caravan was easy to find and perfectly located as travelling with my mum who is hard of walking so close to all amenities which was ideal. On arrival to the Caravan my son said there was a sick smell in the van, we thought as it had been hot previously maybe it just needed a good airing. There was a funny looking stain on the carpet in lounge, which i cleaned just in case. Over to the swimming pool and the staff there where great and friendly, evening entertainment was also good fun for the 3 children (5yrs, 9yrs, 13yrs). Sadly we noticed in the bathroom on the towel rail and also on the net curtain in lounge the remaining sick from the previous occupants, after reporting this to reception and then nothing happening i was disappointing to see no-one had been to clean, this was a call to the Out of hours staff as it was 6.30pm! Reception and no managers on site after 5pm, so if you have a problem make sure you deal with it before 5pm! The OFH guys were really helpful and offered to move us, unfortunately to the other side of park further away so not idea for my mother. We decided to stay in the caravan, the OFH guys took the net curtain and we just didn't use the bathroom, thankful for 2 toilets! A member of staff did come and bring back a cleaned net curtain and also cleaned the towel rail of its remains the following morning, sadly the day we was leaving.(a little to late)

Such a shame as the rest of the weekend was great fun the children enjoyed all the extra activities like Swimming each day, Segway, pottery painting and dino karts and the freedom of the park.

Maybe the managers! of course before 5pm should take a look at there cleaning staff and take into consideration many people have chosen to do stay cations this year and cleanliness should be 200% not what we experienced.

I am sorry that you felt that the caravan was not up to our usual high standard, but when this was reported the holiday sales manager came to see you and the next day the accommodation manager also came to see you and it was confirmed that this was rust and not sick. There was management on park as always and were available until 7pm and the after our wardens take over until midnight. Again I am sorry that the caravan wasn’t quite right for you but we did our very best to rectify this at the time for you.

If looking for an "out of town" caravan site that is clean and tidy with friendly attentive staff in the North Kent area then recommend here. Booked a last minute mid-week break in November and although almost everything on site was closed still managed to have a lovely time due to the cleanliness of the caravan and attitude of the staff. My only critism is that in my opinion the "crazy golf course" (chargable at £3/person) should have been cleared of the leaves that had fallen from the nearby trees. If intending to stay at this site please be aware a car is essential as there is nothing in the immediate area and the on site shop has very limited opening hours. If (like us) you stay mid-week out of season remember everything including the bar and restaurant are closed.

We booked a long weekend away with a group of friends and we have had a fab time. The place is so clean, the caravans are modern and tidy, the pool is warm and the staff are so friendly. Lewis in the pool is charming and always happy to help. The entertainment staff really know how to keep the kids busy! We ate in the resturant and although it can get expensive with drinks it was worth not having to cook. We also played the bingo...well we won all 3 games on the friday night and 2 on the sunday 🙈 #unpopularguests. Kids had a great time and dont want to go home. See u again guys!

Just returned from a 4 night stay as a couple with our dog. We got a really good last minute deal and stayed in a gold plus caravan. Very clean and comfortable, nice extra to find some washing up liquid and sponge in caravan.
All staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, and the evening entertainment was enjoyable. I had a few early morning coffees on the veranda behind the clubhouse and this is a lovely relaxing spot.
Mini golf was enjoyable for £3 each and the swimming pool although small and shallow was nice to cool down in, and the booking system they have works well.
The grounds of the park are very well maintained and include a launderette (you need to purchase a card to use this) and well stocked shop.
Well worth a trip to Herne Bay which is about 20 minutes by car. Really nice little pier and stretch of arcades. Overall we had a really lovely time here and will definitely return.

This was our first venture out of our town since lockdown. We expected it to be grim but were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in one of the glamping pods. which was essentially a wooden tent. Whilst aesthetically pleasing they were very hot and with 4 of us in there, very cramped. It really needed bespoke furniture to make the most of the space. Drawers under the bed, maybe some hooks to hang up towels (away from the heater of course), a taller double bed (so you could get your suitcase under it) and a gateleg table would help to make space. The toilet/shower block was clean enough but communal facilities like this are not my idea of fun!

A few of the facilities were not allowed to open at the time of our visit (the pool should now be open). The central building houses the restaurant and entertainment complex. Due to Covid 19 the entertainment was very low key with activities for children that could be done at the table rather than mixing with other children, and bingo being the main sources. Other onsite facilities are a playground, crazy golf, an arts & crafts hut (where we spent a relaxing hour painting ornaments and making our own cuddly toys). and segue lessons which was great fun and of course a shop and reception.

The menu was a bit limited (probably more choice when restrictions are lifted further) and possibly a bit expensive. However my children ate well.

The best thing about the park is the friendly staff who were uniformly excellent and were so keen to give everyone as good a holiday as was possible under the restrictions at the time.

We would definitely consider coming back, although next time we would probably hire a caravan with private facilities.

Room Tip: If you just want a beach go to Westgate rather than Margate which is much emptier.
