Ivan is a very thoughtful guy. He helped me to figure out the logistics of my trip, including arranging meals on the go and transportation. Ivan's BB is beautiful and small, and he has an amazing garden. The room was very comfortable and clean. Amenities include an awesome shower. I would recommend anyone going through Gamboa to stay there.

Ivan studied in the U.S. so English was perfect. I was made to felt very welcome. Short walk to Gamboa Resort. Will stay again...

If you are looking for a reasonably priced clean room, good food, and buckets of information, Ivan's B&B is the place to stay. It is within walking distance (20 min) of the Ammo Dump Ponds, and the entrance to Pipeline Road. Also an easy walk to the marina and local foot trails. Ivan is a wealth of knowledge when it...

I've stayed at Ivan's multiple times and I've never been disappointed. It is the ideal HQ for serious Pipeline Road birding. Ivan is very accommodating and makes it easy to concentrate on nothing but the birds. The rooms are perfect, the food is fantastic and the town of Gamboa is an absolute gem. Aside from camping on Pipeline, I would...

Our group of 8 booked 4 rooms for one night in Gamboa to enjoy this very special little town and to be near the Smithsonian dock for an early morning boat trip to Barro Colorado. As we drove up to the B&B, the owner, Ivan, greeted us with a harsh admonition, "You can't park here. This is reserved for family."...

Our party of 8 rented the whole of Ivan's building. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 of which have double beds and one has twin beds. Unfortunately, the twin bedroom's air conditioning didn't work. The two people who were supposed to stay in that room couldn't tolerate the lack of a/c and moved to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Ivan wasn't apologetic...

I stayed at Ivan's in 2013 and was so taken with the hospitality that this was my first choice for a return trip. Thankfully, nothing has changed. Ivan is still the informative, sociable fella that he was the first go-round, Gladys still cooks a lovely, simple dinner, rooms are simple but clean and well air-conditioned and the location is unmatched...if...

I had just one night to spend in Gamboa, a true last-minute trip after working the week in the city. I called Ivan using Skype on a Thursday evening and he advised me how to get to Gamboa using public buses. I arrived at 8:00 PM and was warmly greeted. Ivan quickly got me into my room and oriented to...
