Stayed here for a week - a good place to appreciate the quiet surroundings and beautiful scenery when doing a walk along the many paths available. We did several of the organised events and we enjoyed the opportunity to do a lantern walk , 2 trips to Innsbruck with free bus pass and a day out in Seefeld with a...

We stayed here as part of the Voyages Jules Verne "Christmas in the Tirol" holiday, arriving on the 19th December through to 26th December. For the cost of the holiday we were very pleasantly surprised at the accommodation being offered by the wonderful Landhotel Stern and its welcoming owner. The public areas were delightful, so typically Austrian decor. Nothing was...

Delicious food, all cooked on site. Great hiking and x-country ski trails. Peaceful, rural setting. Local bus to Innsbruck and towns en route. Daily skibus to Seefeld. Everything spotless. Supermarket opposite.

We stayed here in December as a family of four-my husband, myself ,my son and his wife. The holiday had been booked through Voyages Jules Verne. The positives: The hotel itself was very clean and well run. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although families with small children arrived for Christmas this did not disturb us in any way but added to...

A typical Austrian / Bavarian hotel in a smaler town in the western part of Austria, conveniently on the extension of the German A7. This is very much a family hotel, so expect lots of children around. The decor is typical Tirol. The rooms - and everywhere else - is spotless. It is not modern and Hi-tech - on the...

Stayed here for a week on a group holiday. Hotel overrun with families with children. On several occasions plates and bowls were not available for the food. Apart from a miserable barman the staff were very good. Food had a local theme and was excellent.

We were booked into this hotel for 7 nights as part of a tour, the hotel is classed as 3* so don't expect 5* luxury. We were allocated a corner room which contained a bath and shower as well as a small outdoor balcony area, also with it being a corner room we also had views in two directions. The...

Reasonably comfortable. Nice room at the back. Bed very low. Difficult for older person to get out of. No lounge so have to sit in room or on high bar stools. Very friendly staff. food varies from quite good to, frankly, completely inedible. Very isolated. Only a Spar shop. Nowhere else open in February. Have to get a bus to...

This hotel is little bit different and what you are looking for if you have young children and they may be learning to ski. The facilities, kids play room, staff, food, care and location are all fantastic. The area is superb for children learning to ski and enables parents to also ski without worrying about their children at all. Rene,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Familien-Landhotel Stern - Tyrolean Inn since 1509 Since 1509 the family Foeger has striven to please guests from near and far and since 1907 they are welcoming guests in the historical walls of the STERN in Obsteig. In the course of generations the hotel has been developed from a small Tyrolean tavern into a high quality sustainable Landhotel with modern ideas and modern service. Staying in the family hotel STERN doesn't affect our climate and helps to safe our environment. During your holiday you can see how easy it is to reduce your personal carbon footprint: by choosing a natural menu for dinner, by collecting your own fruits and herbs, by enjoying the nature during your hiking or mountain bike tour, by using the train or public transportation or by staying one night in a hay barn. Excellent! 1509: Tyrolean Inn! 2008: Austria's most innovative hiking product! 2010: Austrian Environment Label! 2012: Carbon neutral! ... more   less
