Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fitted the bill for our ski break. Very lovely, genuine owners. Helpful, informative and so kind. Immaculate wellness area, with sauna and infrared whatsit. Beds oh so comfy. Attention to detail throughout the hotel and not pretentious. Loooved the breakfast. Evening meal bookings at local Austrian restaurants organised through hotel. Added touch for me was the diary in the next road selling mountain cheese, salami and likoer. Very easy access to brand new gondola with 2 minute ski bus journey. Discount on ski hire and lockers. Airport transfer and Ski pass available from hotel. Amazing ski area and in fact so much less crowded than Scheffau. There is only one apres ski bar at the gondola valley depot at the mo but I suspect that may change soon. But it’s a well kept secret so don’t want it to get too busy!

I tagged along on a last minute trip to Itter and my friend had booked a family room here. It was a great room for all of us. Great owners, could not have been more friendly and helpful on the local ski knowledge and accommodating when we arrived late with beer, food etc. Great value and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet but accessible base for the resort. Large boot room, relaxing bar and games room. Everything you need.

A big thank you to Peter and Alison for a wonderful stay at Hotel Edelweiss and being such wonderful and friendly hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with fabulous food, lovely and clean accommodation and friendly staff and atmosphere. Peter's added touch of games and quizzes had us all joining in which was great fun. Thank you for looking after us and our other friends so well. We had a fantastic stay.

If you want a lovely, comfortable and welcoming hotel to come home to after a days skiing then this is the place for you. Peter and Alison, an English couple, are the nicest hosts you could wish to meet with a big focus on the environment and no waste, so dinner is chosen in the morning and even the morning newsletter is recycled as notepaper! The hotel is spotless and the food hearty. Skiing is just a short bus ride away with miles and miles of runs. Great for all levels.

If you are looking for a place to stay within the Skiwelt area, don't look any further! The hotel is run by Alison and Peter, and we experienced a warm and family-like atmosphere, which is second-to-none. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are well taken care off, and the hotel provides you everything you need for a nice skiing holiday. The ski bus to the Salvista gondola is just outside the door (takes 3 minutes), and in the afternoon you can ski directly to the hotel. The evening dinner offers you are choice of 4 excellent, main courses. Peter went skiing with 10 of us guests one day, showing the area (he's a pretty good skier). When we return to Skiwelt, no doubt we will be staying here! BR Lars

Well what can I say.....even though on the third day our holiday was extended due to my son sustaining a major injury on the slope by being hit by another skier from behind. Alison, Peter (and staff) were so helpful with support and advice during a difficult time. From booking taxis to the hospital, to even providing a food box when travelling to the hospital and back. From Christmas eve to Boxing day all was good. Our group enjoyed what the chalet had to offer; from the lovely food to the daily quiz provided by Peter each night. The sauna helped us relax after a testing day on the slopes. The rooms were cleaned daily and well equipped (including towels and hair dryer). The ski room is well furnished and provides a boot warmer. The slopes can get quite congested and a lot of them criss-cross, so be careful during busy periods and always look behind you! The ski map of the area is bonkers and takes a couple of days to get used too. Look out for the Hohe Salve antenna to get your bearings, if venturing further out to Going (recommended) and Elmau. The ski journey back from Westendorf is an interesting one. Austria has such a charm and the mountains restaurants we found were quite reasonably priced. Our non skiers did find it a bit pricey (by foot) to get to mountain spots to meet us. Please let me thank you again for a great holiday and for helping us deal with our hospitalised son.

Peter and Alison go out of their way to help with all aspects of your stay. They really are the best hosts. The accomodation is very clean and welcoming, the food great and the friendly atmosphere created a very warm and relaxing Christmas for us. We also really enjoyed the quizzes and games, great fun! (Especially when we won)😃

As always the hotel and experience provided is excellent and makes you feel at home. We arrived late and some dinner had been saved for us. Check in and and an update on details/features of the hotel was informative and helpful. Each afternoon after skiing a fun après ski quiz takes place (apart from change over days) with snacks and cakes and a quiz tailored for multiple nationalities. The evening meal choice accommodates for dietary requirements and taste's, and the rooms themselves are updated and cleaned daily to a high standard. The ski bus stops outside the hotel running in both directions to Soll or Hopfgarten, I would recommend anyone visiting Austria or the Ski Welt area stays in this hotel for a great Alpine/Austrian holiday.

Clean and cozy hotel with a comfortable bed and fresh bathroom. My particular room also came with a beautiful view from the balcony. The staff were friendly and the owners are very hands on in running the hotel in a very professional and friendly manner. They were very helpful with any questions I might have, be that about local facilities such as taxis/busses etc or how to ski!!
