Welcome to B&B Del Giglio, a scenic and romantic Bed and Breakfast located in the medieval village of San Donato in Poggio, a town in the heart of Chianti, Florence's province, in the fabulous Tuscany. The B. &. B. Del Giglio is a typical ancient Tuscan apartment, very particular and picturesque thanks to the room's foreshortenings and irregular plans. It is situated on the main street of the historical town, inside the ancient walls of the medieval castle of San Donato in Poggio. The apartment has two double bedrooms each with private washroom, smartly furnished with antique Tuscan furniture, TV-set, Air conditioning and Wi-Fi connection. Both bedrooms offer an enchanting view of the beautiful Chianti hills. We stayed at this B&B for five nights and it was the best vacation we ever had. Roberto (our host) met us outside the door and had a parking spot waiting for us. He was caring and educational. The breakfast from Laura (his wife) was delicious. Every morning Roberto helped us get our itinerary to explore Tuscany with maps and directions. Very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. The location and the house were amazing. Everything was impeccably clean and well organized. The beds and pillows were high end and comfortable. The private wine cellar was amazing, and the prices for the wine that you can purchase was as reasonable as all the wine in Italy. The patio overlooking the wineries was peaceful and relaxing. It was pristine and like out of a fairy tale book. There were two restaurants, one to two minutes’ walk, and their food was excellent. Had coffee at their three local coffee and bakery places and everyone was friendly, "to the Americans". Highly recommend staying here without hesitation. Staying at B & B Del Giglio was like a scene out of a movie. So picturesque. From the garden to the view from your window, it was stunning. Our Hosts were off the chart charming, helpful, and made sure we were well taken care of from our delicious breakfasts, guiding us to great locations, and choosing wine from their wine cellar. We loved the little village and had fabulous dinners within walking distance. You feel like you are back in time with its timely beauty. This is a place I would love to go back time and time again.

Our family stayed in the B&B del Giglio for a week when we attended a wedding in Tuscany. It was the perfect place to stay. The hosts, Roberto and Laura, are very kind and helpful. Roberto helped us plan outings to the Chianti region, as well as Siena and Florence. He is a deep well of information, having lived his whole life in San Donato. It is evident that he loves to share the charms of his home and country with guests. Laura prepared our breakfast each morning. It was a beautiful way to start the day. The apartment itself is in an ancient castle. It is artfully furnished. The bedrooms are comfortable, with exquisite views of the Tuscan countryside. If you want to cook meals it is possible in the kitchen. The well-tended garden is yours to enjoy and is a pleasant place in which to relax between outings. We found the towns people of San Donato to be very friendly and the restaurant up the street is excellent. The cost surprised us by its affordability. You won’t find a nicer place to stay than B&B del Giglio.…

This was our second visit as a foursome and booked both rooms for 7 days. As on the previous visit everything was just about perfect, nothing is too much trouble for Roberto and Laura. The attention to detail and fantastic breakfasts on the terrace make for a brilliant base for exploring central Tuscany. The terrace and garden are a quiet and beautiful place to enjoy an evening apperitivo & appetiser from Roberto's menu or a glass of Chianti from his cellar. The two en-suite rooms are both equally delightful with fantastic views over the valley and vineyards. Bearing in mind that you also have the use of a third bathroom, kitchen and lounge this is an exceptional spot to enjoy traditional Italian hospitality.

We absolutely loved this house. Nice, big, with a garden and very confortable. We stay there with our children. We're thankful for how lovely Laura and Roberto were showing us around the house and the art inside it, and baking a cake for our birthday too! They take care of everything: recommendations (restaurants, villages..) and information about the sightseeings which were of great use. We hope to come back soon. Thanks Laura and Roberto!

A gem! The hosts are extremely kind and hospitable. The apartment is meticulously clean and decorated beautifully. The location, the view and the garden are absolutely marvellous. I would stay there again without any hesitation. Hope to be back soon!

We stayed at the B&B for 4 nights but are sorry we did not book any longer. The place is adorable, with real Italian elements in the house and beautiful garden. Our hosts Roberto and Laura made us feel very welcome and served the most fresh and delicious breakfast each morning. Very clean, comforting and relaxing place to stay. Roberto has a lot of knowledge about the where-to-go’s in Tuscany, as you can visit all the less touristic places. Highly recommanded!

On the 2nd week of our trip to Italy (Sep 2018) we wanted to get away to a small village to appreciate the culture and slow pace. This is that place. The B&B is a comfortable 2 bedroom (en-suite) apartment in the wall of the 15th century village, complete with an original stone sink, a well, and wine cellar. The rooms were all up to date, the breakfast served on the patio overlooking the olive orchards and vineyards in the valley below was the best we could ever imagine. 100 meters from the front door was a Michelin Star restaurant, the roads and walkways were safe for walking after dark, and the surrounding countryside was from a postcard. When we drove to Poggio from Siena we purposefully took backroads so we could let the atmosphere sink in, appreciating the small villages and scenery along the way. When we decided to take a day trip into Florence we were shocked to realize we were only 10 minutes from the freeway. We are definitely ready to go back, the other couple that was staying there during our stay said it was their 3rd trip and they planned on more.…

I stayed at B&B Del Giglio with my husband and sister while touring Tuscany. WOW! We were all so impressed with the beautiful two bedroom apartment. It was spotlessly clean with lots of attention given to details. Our hosts, Roberto and Laura, were so welcoming and helpful providing information on the local area, places to eat, even calling to book cooking classes for us. The apartment bedrooms have windows overlooking the valley of vines and olive trees - Tuscany at its best. Laura's breakfast was exceptional and relaxing on the verandah with a glass of wine before dinner was delightful. Don't miss the opportunity to stay at Del Giglio and enjoy the village of San Donato. The Toppa restaurant was exceptional. Del Giglio is within 30 minutes drive from Florence and Sienna, and don't miss the other small villages during your visit. What a beautiful place. Its cozy, breakfast was wonderful. When it's nice outside they will serve you breakfast over looking the scenery. The family is amazing, they will suggest places to visit, aswell as wineries to visit. Beatrice was very kind and booked a couple wine tours for us, and we were able to ship back wine to Canada. Their garden is beautiful my now fiance proposed to me in thier yard which makes this place even more special. I would definitly go back and stay here again.
