Stayed here for a valentine treat which was thoroughly enjoyable. The Blue Bell has circa four bedrooms attached to the pub/restaurant property. The room we had was well appointed with everything one needs from an umbrella (handy!) to tea/coffee making facilities. The room had a great 'wet room' style ensuite.
There is a bar area / restaurant area, however one can eat in the bar area as well. We chose to eat in the restaurant having had a few drinks in the bar. (Some great beers on draft.) The menu has a nice varied selection. I can recommend the Whitebait as an excellent starter. My wife selected the Sea Bass which looked great!
Breakfast was as expected, excellent. Whether one wants a full English or continental it is all there. The staff are really helpful, polite & friendly. Plenty of car parking space available. Overall a great stay, with wonderful food. Will definitely return when the weather improves!

We stayed at the Blue Bell for just one night but had such a lovely time it felt longer. Our rooms were round the back and they were clean, comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed including a blanket, bowl and treats for our dog. We ate three times, evening meal, breakfast and Sunday lunch all of the food was fresh and delicious, the vegan offerings were tasty and home made and I cannot find fault with any of it. We were allowed to have our dog with us while we ate and a blanket a bowl of water were provided without us asking.

The staff were, without exception, friendly, helpful and accommodating and appeared to enjoy working together. Two of our party went for an early morning run and got a bit lost so were a little late for breakfast, this was handled really well and full breakfast was provided for the latecomers with no fuss.

I would heartily recommend the Blue Bell if you are in the area whether you want a drink, a meal or to stay.

Me and my partner stayed at the bluebell for 2 nights.
The room we had was just great, lovely decor and the room was immaculate.
The fresh ground coffee, and espresso maker was a lovely touch, a lot nicer than the instant stuff you get in most hotel rooms.
Was nice to have a walk in shower also, and the body wash/shampoo provided smelt divine! We even had bath robes provided for after the shower which was nice.

Breakfast was amazing, a range of cereals and fruit were available and we were offered tea or coffee as soon as we sat down although I went for the fresh orange juice.
We both went for a full English breakfast and poached eggs which were cooked to perfection, with a side helping of toast, definitely enough to keep us filled up until lunchtime!

We also had a Sunday roast and it was lovely, the Yorkshire puddings were massive and very yummy!
The staff were also very lovely and service was excellent, even though they were all wearing masks due to covid! Can’t praise them enough.

We asked where was nice to visit and Lesley recommended a few places, Stamford was one of them and we had a lovely time there, i will definitely visit Stamford again on our next visit to the bluebell.

We had such a great few days and would highly recommend the Bluebell if you are looking for somewhere nice to stay for a few days, hopefully we might be back just before Christmas 🙂

Have eaten here many times over the past few years but we were disappointed with a recent visit. The food was still tasty enough but the prices have rocketed! Eg: Ordered a burger, which always came with (as in most eateries!) chips... but no longer. Now you get a burger. Just a burger (with cheese and bacon in). You then have to order chips as an extra and they are almost the same price as the burger! (£8 for the burger, £6 for a side bowl of chips!)
We asked for Tartare sauce with our fish... it was mayonnaise, with something like capers in it but no taste to them at all, so was like having a bowl of thick mayonnaise, sadly. We did let our server know and were told 'I'll let the chef know, he's new'! Sorry, we didn't feel that was justifiable.

On a positive note, the service was attentive and quick.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed on your visit. We do have a new chef and have tried a different approach to let customers choose the sides they would like with their burger, rather than offering plain chips. Our previous menu did include the chips at £14 so in fact the price has not changed. The sides of different chips are priced as sharers. We've added more capers to the tartare sauce. We do hope you will give our new chef another try.

We celebrated my Dads 90th Birthday today with a group of 14 for Sunday Lunch. The service and food were both excellent. Good vegan options so all of us had a superb lunch. Lovely friendly waiting staff. Thankyou. We will definitely visit again

Amazing! Overwhelming Christmas lunch, the portions were incredible, the flavours outstanding and the service impeccable, great value for money too.
The first time we have ever eaten out on Christmas Day and I doubt it will be our last. This was beyond expectations and just like Santa, the staff at the Bluebell delivered everything you need for Christmas.
And when we walked in to our house, we didn’t miss the washing up!! 🤣

Wow this is a really fantastic little place and the best hospitality I've received when staying away from home. Absolutely nothing to fault here at all Lesley and her team have got this so right. my husband and I stayed here with our 2 little dogs for one night from the moment we walked in we all dogs included was so well looked after the rooms are lovely and clean warm and comfortable. The evening meal was such a treat so a shout out to the chef aswel! Everyone involved in our stay made it so lovely we booked before we left to take my parents there for Easter bareing in mind the intention for our stay was to break up the travel from a holiday in the south a night here before heading back north this place is worth the 2 hour drive for a room dinner and drinks in the evening and then Lesley sets u up for your journey home with a lovely breakfast. Thank you to everyone involved.

Nothing to fault. The rooms are in the pub grounds giving privacy and quiet and were exceptionally clean. Choice of 4 real ales with great outdoor spaces for sitting and dining. Retains the pub atmosphere with an authentic tap room. Extensive dining room. The staff efficient and friendly particularly the chef and housekeeper. The comprehensive menu should have something for all tastes with a good selection of fresh fish dishes. Breakfast was good and well served.I would have liked a bit more choice on the starters for breakfast with fresh fruit and yogurt as well as the cereals and juice but the full breakfast is quite substantial. A really comfortable and relaxing stay.

We had a lovely meal at the Blue Bell last night. There was quite a wait for the food to arrive but the waitress regularly apologised and they bought us some complimentary bread, oil and balsamic. The food was definitely worth the wait. We had two fish and chips, one special sea bass with crushed potatoes and one homemade steak pie. It was all beautifully cooked but especially the steak pie. A very enjoyable meal and we weren't put off by the delay in serving our food. The wine list has something for everyone and my husband enjoys their range of beers. There is also a large selection of gins. We are always greeted with a warm welcome by the Landlord and all the staff at the Blue Bell and we are very lucky to have the pub in our village.

Sunday lunch here is the very best of everything a Sunday lunch should be 🥰
We loved the warm welcome. We sat by the open fire in the traditional oak beamed bar. I cannot fault the food, so tasty and excellent quality. We will definitely be back soon.
