We really enjoyed our stay at Knappgaarden, the hosts were extremely friendly and serviceminded, the room was clean and cosy and the food was amazing. We were there as a part of experiencing the great nature in the nearby nationalpark and it was a perfect way to end our tour.

Knappgården is a wonderful place. An open yard of beautiful old buildings in a mild countryside landscape. Here is rooms for every need, from the simplest room to the great. I stayed in a modest room but it was more than good enough. The hosts are so social and good at getting guests to thrive. Breakfast was as such an...

My husband and I traveled to Sweden in January/February 2016 for a delayed honeymoon vacation. We spent two nights in Stockholm and then rented a car and drove to Dalarna. We were looking for a rustic, relaxing, authentic Swedish experience. We wanted to do wintry activities and I spent a great deal of time researching different ski areas, resorts and...

We booked to stay at Knappgarden at short notice, and didn't get there until quite late at night after a long drive. The experience was like arriving at the home of old friends. Nigel and Linnea put together a great meal out of the fridge and made us immediately welcome. The location is lovely, in a quiet spot close to...

We booked at Knappgarden for 3 nights during the Idre Orienteering week. It was great, so we stayed a fourth night. The food was wonderful, a glorious combination of superb cooking and Swedish specialities such as cloud berries, meatballs, reindeer and even freshly cooked porridge. For a small hotel, the breakfast buffet was amazing. The hosts, Nigel and Linnea, are...

Apologies for this late review (it is now July and we have since been again!). 28th February 2015 we went to Knappgarden again, winter wonderland. We drove from Oslo airport this time and the journey to Knappgarden was magical with the pine trees thick with snow, and no sign of a tarmac road, and not much in the way of...

I stayed at Knappgården for one night and had a good experience. The location is remote but ideal for outdoor wilderness activities and visits to Fulufjället National Park. I never had any meals but the breakfast was a positive surprise with lots to choose from. I will recommend this place for families and couples who are looking for a nice...
