Looking for more of a budget friendly place to stay ($50/night pp- all inclusive) in the jungle, my mom, girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try and were really glad we did! Without having to ask our bags were carried to and from the highway, thank goodness because it's a little humid there...... We contacted them through...

Immerse yourself in authentic Ecuadorian and Kichua culture. Very rustic. Beautiful setting on the Rio Napo. Friendly people. Arrive by car or by canoe from Misagualli. Best for backpackers and culture seekers.

The Community Ecotourism Center Kamak Maki is a family project with a goal to preserve the ancestral knowledge of the region and educate people about the native Ecuadorian Kichwa culture and other cultures of the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin region. Kamak Maki is a name in the local language of Kichwa, which means hands working together. It is located in the community of Chichicorumi, which is about 45 minutes from the city of Tena, in the Napo Province of Ecuador. We hope to offer a beautiful place where one can appreciate the nature of the Amazon jungle, learn about native cultures in this region, and support a community development project. ... more   less
