This is the most beautiful little town in the Sabine Hills. La Torretta itself is an ancient house built into the side of a hill, with the most magnificent views. La Torretta is filled with interesting antique furniture, with chairs in all shapes and sizes, designed and constructed by the owner's father. The owner, Jennifer, was extremely welcoming and helpful. Thanks to her suggestions, we visited The Sanctuary of St Francis in Greccio, nearby. Inspiring! The breakfast on the terrace is not to be missed. Would love to return. La Vigne Osteria down the road was the local restaurant, frequented by locals and visitors. We stayed on our way from Rom Airport to Umbría. John and Sue Henton

Fabulous location after a decent trek through the beautiful pedestrian town, definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Lovely warm welcome and a super comfortable suite, a feather filled cushioned daybed was pure luxury after a day of touring. Breathe taking views from our window. Breakfast was a very social occasion with a good variety of home cooked offerings. My only negative was the lack of central heating even though there were 3 ample size radiators in our rooms heat was never turned on. Yes it was an exceptionally cold of April this year.

La Toretta Historical Home is a 15th-century palazzo that has lovingly and expertly been renovated by its architect owner and his family. Even some of the furniture has been created by the owner. While comfortably accommodating travelers with modern amenities, the reverence of the owners for the palazzo's history is integral to the feeling of the place. We were there with a hiking group for 3 nights, and we enjoyed the superb hospitality of the family and our hostesses, Jennifer and her mother Maureen, who were always ready with a smile and stories. From laying out a lovely breakfast buffet each day to making recommendations for hiking paths, restaurants or a special group dinner in a nearby palazzo, they welcomed us not only to their home but to their beloved Casperia. There is a terrace just adjacent to the dining area with a fantastic view of surrounding countryside and mountains, where breakfast, reading, conversation or napping can be enjoyed when weather permits. On leaving, our hostess organized the necessary transportation for us to transfer to Rome.

My wife and I were there four nights, and we loved it! This renovated 15th Century home has 21st Century plumbing, electricity and WiFi, and a welcoming staff. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and the view from our window was dramatic. La Torretta is a family business, and the family made us feel at home immediately. They gave us a delicious breakfast and a cheerful "Buongiorno!" each morning, they shared ideas about places to go and things to do, and they helped to arrange delightful dinners at places in the town. I would happily stay at La Torretta again.

We picked up La Toretta Historical Home for our wedding. We couldn't imagine a better place for our family and us to celebrate that special day. Jennifer and Maureen were the best hosts we ever had, they were very helpful from the early beginning of making our plans for a wedding. They helped us a lot with getting contacts and preparing everything. - House itself is magnificent. Its historical spirit is enriched by the creativity of its owners. Roberto's modern furniture, Maureen's carefully picked up ceramics and Jennifer's joyous spirit definitely make this place. - There aren't that many places which look even better than in photos, but La Toretta Historical Home is definitely one of them. - I strongly recommend La Toretta Historical Home to everyone. I'm pretty sure that we will come back here one day with my wife.

Beautifully presented B and B in a lovely hilltop village with outstanding views over the countryside. The accommodation was excellent - comfortable, very clean and welcoming. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. Could not have wished for a better place to stay. Would heartily recommend it.

Casperia, in the Sabine Hills an hour north of Rome, is a beautiful and unspoiled hill town in a region that fully deserves to be discovered. La Torretta, in the heart of the old part of town, is a jewel - a bed & breakfast in a beautiful historical home completely redone by the architect owner so that it is both evocative and comfortable. The living room has a fireplace, and the large dining area has sweeping views over the valley behind Casperia and over to the higher hills. Jennifer and Maureen who run the B&B are wonderful, kind and generous hosts. The breakfasts are abundant and the whole place has an exceptional charm and sense of history. This was our third stay, but we will be back.
