I am just so envious of Roberto and Maureen and the lovely home they have created! This is the perfect location, snug within the medieval town but with views from bedrooms and terrace out over the surrounding hillsides. Our room was comfortable and quiet and we had the use of a frescoed lounge stuffed full of interesting books. Having arrived...

The town of Casperia sits like a crown on a hilltop in Umbria, and La Toretta is the jewel in that crown, Exquisitely restored and maintained by Roberto and Maureen, the house is a charming stone maze of rooms on multiple levels, with a library that is one of the most beautiful rooms I have ever known. The rooftop terrace...

A group of friends and I spent a week at La Torretta and it was the perfect place for us to meet. We were able to relax and enjoy the pace of life in the medieval village of Casperia. The views from the bedrooms and the upstairs terrace are breath-taking and every morning I was awakened by the sound of...

My husband I stayed with Maureen at La Torretta in September as part of our holiday across Umbria and Lazio. Maureen, Roberto and Jennifer are delightful hosts. La Torretta has been beautifully designed and offers a wonderful base. The breakfasts are delicious with a good spread of food. If you have the chance do the cooking course with Jennifer -...

This Palazzetta in the middle of a medieval village has been beautifully restored and many of the walls bear witness to past glories with unusual frescoes and drawings. It has a large rooftop terrace and the rooms are tastefully decorated. This outstanding hilltop village itself is a delight with small alleys and unexpected architectural elements. It is proudly maintained and...

Definitely off the beaten path and a little challenging to locate but once you find it, set your luggage down and start exploring. We spent hours wandering the streets and then ended up at the one restaurant the village has to offer (with the Inn's owner and her family). We had a great time and even did some olive oil...

We stayed at La Torretta for a 10 day holiday as a base, while exploring the local area. Within hours, we felt like we were part of the family. La Torretta is more than a B&B - it is a destination! We returned this year with friends after discovering this hidden gem last year, and everyone loved it. In short: I cannot reccomend this B&B (or town) enough. It's small and cozy, the terrace has a fantastic wiew, and the owners are amazingly nice. Be prepared for waking up early by screeching swallows though! Long rewiew: Casperia is a small town located north of Rome. To reach it, take the commuter train from central Rome to Poggio Mirteto....
