Spent 3 nights in a very comfortable loge with excellent onsite facilities. The pool and fitness centre were well maintained and clean. On site restaurant served very good homely meals. the view over the lake was lovely.

We stayed at Pine Lake resort for one week, the lodges are very warm, spacious, and cleaned regularly and the linen is changed frequently if required . I would say these lodges are better than Centre Parcs. We didn’t eat at the restaurant on site opting to visit local restaurants and we also brought a Gousto box as the accommodation had a full kitchen. The location makes all the Lake District accessible and we also visited Lancaster which is only a taxi ride away £15 each way. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here the lake is beautiful and we also took in a few local walks, Wharton Crag and The Fairy Steps. Great place to visit.

Courteous, helpful staff at Pine Lake and clean comfortable rooms. Kitchen is fairly well stocked for cooking, but they only provide two of everything else (dishes, bowls, glasses, forks, spoons...). I appreciated that it is a green resort. They do provide paper towels, washing up liquid, sponge, T-towels, and some salt & pepper packets, which not all resorts do. The resort has many amenities; however, many were not available due to Covid. The location is just south of the Lake District with many attractions within a reasonable drive. We enjoyed our stay and I will look to come back again.

I used to come here as a child, and now happy to show my own children the Joy's of the place.
The whole place is clean and fresh. The colleagues are all friendly and welcoming, and the new decor is lovely.
Checking in, is very easy and Jordan is very knowledgeable and remembers you throughout the stay.
The chalets are beautiful and easy to access, with everything (apart from a potato masher) you need for a stay, short or long term. Included is a dishwasher, washer and drier, full fridge freezer, enough basics to last at least 2 days (dishwasher tabs, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, etc), they are warm and welcoming and quiet, despite being a stone throw from the M6 and a railway line.
Looking forward to our next visit.

The only downside is the cost of the leisure facilities, £5 per day per person is a lot when you're a family, and there isnt a great deal on offer for the price. Perhaps paying per stay or a family discount would mean the services are used more often, as it's all well looked after for being small.

We stayed for the half term week at the beginning of June in Lodge 108, although we have stayed before albeit 10 years ago.

On arrival at the lodge, it looked a bit like a house decorated for Halloween, what with all the cobwebs draped all over the outside. No attempt has been made to remove them for some time.

There was a ‘sticker seal’ over the entrance door to signify it had been cleaned, presumably ‘Covid’ clean?

On entering the lodge, we noticed that the door frame was rotten towards the bottom with paint peeling off and could do with being replaced.

It was very warm inside, and we discovered that the wall heaters were on, set very high (one at 26.5c), and we were unable to turn them down.
A call to reception, and a maintenance guy was soon at the lodge to turn the heaters off.
Whilst he was working, we sat on the picnic bench provided outside, which then broke, so he also carried out a repair to that even though there was a section missing off it as well.

After unpacking, we would use the induction hob to cook dinner. Half way through cooking, the electric tripped several times.
Process of elimination determined it was the hob. Phoned reception again, out came the same maintenance guy to try and mend said hob.
In short, he couldn’t mend the hob and we were left with a half cooked dinner, however the management kindly gave us a free meal from the on-site restaurant, which was delivered to our lodge in no time, and it was piping hot. Thank you.
The induction hob was replaced while we were out the next day, and we had no further issues with it.

There were a number of other issues though:

All of the windows require replacement. They are rusted, difficult to open and close, and the seals are hanging out of some of them.
It was very difficult to adjust the temperature of the en-suite shower, resulting in the water being scolding hot at times.
The floor throughout the lodge is laminate & looked dirty. After wiping it with an antibacterial wipe, it was apparent that it was filthy yet there is no mop & bucket provided.
The whole lodge wasn’t to a very high standard of cleanliness, especially bathrooms and kitchen.
We were unable to turn the wall heaters back on after they were turned off by maintenance. We had lovely weather & managed without, however they need fixing.
The kitchen worktops are lifting/peeling, as is the laminate on some of the kitchen unit doors.
The planters outside the lodge and the planters/benches just along from the lodge are tatty, with paint peeling off and are missing sections of wood.
Sections of interior walls of the lodge have been ‘touched up’ with paint, but with a different colour to what is already on the walls.

This lodge, and other areas of the site need a full refurbishment. It is all looking old and tired and certainly doesn’t live up to the 4 star standard/rating that is advertised and claimed on the website.

Despite being pretty near full I found it extraordinary that everything is not up and running unlike the rest of the country. Perhaps this is down to the American owners. We had to book an hour slot 2 days ahead to use the pool as there is a restriction on numbers in the pool. When we did get in we found that the sauna and steam room as well as jakuzzi were closed due to covid. Absolute rubbish they are saving money that's all. Part of the reason that I booked for my family to stay here was that I had read an answer to a question from the American owners that said you could use your own kayaks on the lake, just speak to the watersports desk. So we arrived on a Monday to find the watersports lodge was closed on Monday. We inflated our kayak and paddle board and took the grandchildren into the lake for the start of a week of waterplay and siteseeing. After 40 mins or so a charming man drove up to explain that he rented the lake for his watersports business and use of one's own craft is NOT allowed. We left the lake very disappointed. If the lake is not being used on a Monday why not let others use it? I rechecked the website and indeed nowhere does it show that you can use your own craft but the answer is still on Google if you ask the question.
Having seen the waterskiing etc when it is open I understand that it would be unsafe to have numerous others on the lake and the guy was very nice about it.
The other thing I found amazing was that for a site that has hundreds of people visiting you cannot get even a cup of coffee before midday! Financial madness. When I did wait until after midday the coffee machine was out of action and it was Americana's only. All that being said the lodges and site were pleasant enough, shame that no clubhouse entertainment on (due to covid apparently). Good location to explore the lakes but probably could have found somewhere cheaper had we known that it was half closed still and that we couldn't use the lake without hiring.

The lodge was easy to check into, helpful reception staff and the lodge surpassed our expectations. A shower room and a bathroom was great, the kitchen had everything you could need and dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets provided. The coffee machine and coffee was a nice bonus for husband. The bedrooms were big and comfortable and I pushed the singles together as wasn’t sure my daughter wouldn’t fall out. It’s a good size lodge, we were surprised. Free swimming pool and mini golf nearby. Good sized balcony. We weren’t next to lake but had a lake view. The lodge was lovely and warm. The only reason I haven’t given 5 out of 5 is this. Be careful Re hot water as not enough for whole family to wash consecutively, have to wait 30-45 minutes to reheat. There was road noise all the time and intermittent train noise, some lodges are quite close to A6 so first night I couldn’t sleep with window open due to road noise. Couldn’t hear too badly with windows closed. But the main reason not 5 was the awful take away food and service from restaurant. 2 Kids meals, nachos and chicken bbq melt took an hour, may have took longer if I hadn’t asked where it was. And the food was cold and terrible when we took back to lodge. So, don’t get a takeaway, expensive and quite frankly one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. Swimming pool great and the staff lovely there.

We are in one of the accessible lodges. It is cosy, comfortable and clean with a wonderfully comfortable superking bed. The kitchen is fully serviced with a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher and the apartment can easily accommodate 6 people, 4 with privacy. Restaurant on site is well priced with smaller portions available if you wish. The view of the lake is great with swans, ducks etc entertaining us with their antics. Very relaxing place to stay with friendly staff.

We paid £225 for one night which was one of the dearest rooms during our trip and expected a lot more than what you get . Nothing is included in that price either . We ordered 4 dishes off the menu and everything came like it was pulled from a bag, microwaved from frozen and slapped on your plate, was just awful . We didn't risk breakfast so went to the local supermarket to buy food to cook as the on site shop is just a weird tin store type thing that sold very little of anything that you would actually need . All in all the place reminded me of the resort in the movie Dirty Dancing, its dated , over priced and serves food that looks and tastes like its from the 70s.

Just spent 5 nights in one of the lodges for my birthday.
Couldn’t check in till 4 but spent the afternoon in Morecambe, only 15 minutes away and free parking on marine drive so 👍.
Checking in was good except for when we didn’t want to make a donation to the charity they asked for, we were quickly dismissed, with no explanation of facilities etc.
We don’t like to use the car much on holiday so found great cycling and walking routes available straight from the resort. I recommend the walk to Warton crag. We did a circular walk via carnforth and back via the station for cake!
We did 2 bike rides. One along the canal to Lancaster, only 10 miles each way. I recommend a stop at the castle for food. We locked the bikes up opposite the castle too next to the tourist information, very safe.
Our second ride was on the bay way to Arnside. Great ride and recommend the bakery for food just along the front.
We visited Kendal. And did the scout scar walk. This was breathtaking and very easy, great for a picnic. We again found free parking and had a great meal in Kendals oldest pub.
We had our last meal in the County hotel. They have 50% off most meals mon- fri 5.30-7.30 and the food was excellent.
We made a couple of trips to Aldi for supplies but wouldn’t recommend booths. We only popped in for a few bits and they were very expensive and the onion was rotten when I cut into it later that day.
The bed in the lodge was a super king and was also super comfortable. I’m a light sleeper and the roads did keep me awake the first night but I wore earplugs for the rest of my stay and had a great sleep.
The lodge had a lovely big bath too which was unexpected as it only stated it had a shower this was a really good surprise. The shower was great too.
The fridge was set too high and our food did freeze and had to be thrown but luckily we hadn’t brought much and adjusted the temperature when we realised.
There was an empty coke bottle on the shore outside our lodge but this appeared to have been removed after a couple of days.
Didn’t use the pool/ gym as this was an extra cost but they looked good.
Didn’t use the restaurant either as this was very brightly lit and not that welcoming.
Overall a great stay though and the area has so much still to be visited we’ll definitely be back to discover more of this areas wonderful gems.
