Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

AMAZING!! We were blown away by the lodge and surrounding area. From the moment we entered through the green gates we had a mile drive to the lodge and knew that we were arriving to something different. Inside the lodge was immaculate, clean and spacious with brilliant attention to detail. Appealed to my OCD!! Erica & Josh had left a bottle of prosecco and some choccies in the fridge as a welcome which made the stressful drive from Cornwall to Essex feel less arduous (such a thoughtful touch). We were so impressed with The Plumptons Lodge that we are already looking at our calendars for next year hopefully for an extended stay to give us more time to take in the walks and wildlife on the property. Thank you Erica & Josh for a lovely stay x

Beautiful place and located in tranquil area. Clean and spacious and very modern. Erica couldn’t be more helpful. Definitely return with the little ones. There’s a friendly little goat called Nora, 2 beautiful dogs and chickens coming to say hello.

Have just come come back from a 2 night stay…. Loved it from the moment we entered the gates . Private. Secluded and quiet… just what we wanted! The surrounding area was lovely to walk through, deers, rabbits and pheasants to see. The lodge was spotlessly clean! Smelt amazing when we walked in! Myself and partner do not drink so Erica provided us with the coffee we like and Dr Pepper! Was so nice to be remembered and also asked as to what else we would like instead. The families dogs were running around, which we loved to see and were friendly. We came to get away from work and normal home life and it was just what we needed. Highly recommend for anyone !!! We will definitely be returning ♥️

Wonderful, well equipped lodges away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. High spec kitchen, bathroom and living/sleeping area. Bed was soooo comfortable and cosy. Patio area had views over countryside and at night we could sit outside and stargaze. Prosecco and chocolates were a lovely welcome touch. Thank you for all your help with our booking and questions. We will be back! This is THE place to relax and chill out.

Upon arrival at the property I found it to be dirty.   We discussed our concerns with the staff and were not provided an explanation as to why it was dirty and what was going to be done about it. My conversation with the staff involved walking around the property and pointing out the issues as listed below. As a result I cleaned the property myself. In addition to this I also disinfected the whole property using Dettol wipes and antiseptic Dettol spray.   The issues were as follows: 1.     Floors were upswept and unwashed 2.     Worktops, chairs, table had crumbs-unwiped 3.     Fridge unclean with remnants of food bits 4.     Cupboards had crumbs and food bits-unclean 5.     Hob extractor fan full of grease-unclean 6.     Bath plug hole had hair-unclean 7.     Bath unclean 8.     Shower and bath fittings unpolished, unclean 9.     Toilet bowl, inside and outside had not been clean and outside bowl has piss streaks 10.  Sink and taps unclean 11.  Radiator bars dusty-unclean 12.  Bath room window ledge unclean 13.  Bathroom floors not cleaned 14.  Outside chair cushions had been left in the rain and were soaking. These were replaced after 2 days along with the chairs. 15.  Outside table was dirty, had not been cleaned and the ashtray still had burn cigarette butts-this was cleaned after two days.      This property was unclean. This is not satisfactory at any time let along during the current climate. When I visit a property I expect it to be spotless. It is unacceptable that when I discussed these issues with the staff that I was faced with a red face and silence. I expected my concerns to be dealt with by the property being cleaned. This did not happen. Disappointed. We submitted a formal complaint shortly after our trip in August and have still not had a response and/or explanation.

Your adventure starts the second you open and close the 'big green gates', there is then about a mile drive down a stone track passing lakes and farmland to the three lodges that have been 'dropped in the most stunning setting. You are surrounded by fields and the sounds of the area. The lodges are very spacious and finished to a very high standard, big screen TV, humongous bed and a duvet to snuggle into. Bathrooms are fabulous and like the rest of the accommodation finished to a high standard . Outside is complimented by cushioned Patio furniture. You do not have to see anybody as keyes are left in a coded keybox by your patio sliding doors. Would loved to have spent extra time there, the welcome pack was much appreciated the wife is drinking it now. Thank you, you have a fabulous place to stay, if it was a bit closer to the Wirral I would be a regular

What a lovely setting, I mean landscapes were amazing and just what we were looking for! So far away from any traffic noise! All you hear is the beautiful sound of birds tweeting. A little hard to find and postcode on google takes you a little off from the actual location so be sure to use the postcode on your confirmation email. Bit of a no-brainer as google isn’t always that accurate. But just to make sure you guys don’t end up where we were initially! All was resolved once we put in a call to the owners, and they directed us clearly to the lodges. As I said the landscapes were perfect and really made the trip what it was! See pictures!! The accommodation was more than luxury with all kitchen appliances, apart from microwave, and a very comfy bed. All the decoration and features looked brand new. And so so clean !! Nice big bath/shower. Dinning table and a good sized LED TV. Bit disappointed there was no WiFi but my wife was more than happy! So that all that matters!! And escape means escape lol. Overall we had an amazing stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Great hosts and amazing place to stay!
