Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The full inclusive arrangement is only possible if you book directly, not via an intermediate. However, booking online does not present the full option. The best way seems to be to book by phone and make your wishes explicit.
The hotel facilities are new and very pleasant. A good hotel in a tranquil location.

Plentiful beverages in our room. Recommended and car parking out the front. Locals in the pub very friendly too.

Stayed here for one night on a last minute break. The host and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pub itself is very inviting with a lovely decor, wood burning stove and comfy seating. The room was spotless, tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable, the bed was especially comfy! We had an evening meal which was delicious and great value. Breakfast was also delicious and we even returned for a spot of lunch! We will definitely be returning the the New Crown Inn for another stay, but for longer next time. Much cheaper than places in the Lakes but close enough to the district. 10/10 for us!

It’s a pleasant pub B&B that is in a great location to explore the Lakes if you don’t want to pay Lakes prices. Set in a very quiet picturesque village close to the A66.
Rooms are very clean and a good size, bed very comfortable and lovely bathroom.
There was no chef on the first night, they called me in the morning prior to my stay to let me know so I could make other arrangements. Nice breakfast and meal on 2nd evening.
The only thing that let it down was the amount of teenagers in the bar in the evening who were with the young barman, it felt like a youth club, so a little uncomfortable. For that reason I won’t return.

3 of us had gammon very nice but the burnt chips on each plate spoiled it , I did mention this to the waitress; but to be fair going back to manners school may help her in life .
Wont call again based on that .

Stayed for one night but would have happily stayed longer. Frankie made us feel very welcome and the whole place was finished to a very high standard. Dinner was excellent and the rooms were perfect! Would thoroughly recommend

We dropped in on an overnight as part of a journey and it was excellent.

The staff, especially the local bar waitress and the chef from the North of Scotland were incredibly friendly and helpful.

We are in the restaurant it is was definitely a step above your average pub grub. Top notch.

Rooms are very modern and tastefully decorated and furnished. Comfortable bed topped it off.

I stayed for 2 nights, my circumstances changed so I contacted the owner. She was very helpful & rearranged my booking. She also dropped me to my charity walk in the early hours of the morning due to the taxi quoting a ridiculous price!
There are 4 rooms above her pub. The rooms are very modern and really nicely decorated.
The food was lovely and the staff could not do enough for you.

We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. The spotlessly clean rooms are lovely, not large but big enough, with super-comfy beds and big fluffy duvets and pillows.

Breakfast was good, ordered through the owner the evening before. The full English is substantial (great sausages) with other options such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs also on offer.

We had dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday evening. The food was good but they were very busy with perhaps not enough staff so the service was slow. We’ve eaten here previously with no problems so this was probably a one off.

The staff are all very friendly, the pub is nicely laid out with a log burner. There’s at least one real ale and a good selection of gins. This is a lovely place to stay out of the hubbub of the Lake District proper and I would recommend it.
