Lisieux House is a traditional Irish farmhouse set in its own grounds on the shore of Lough Neagh. It is the perfect location for a quiet break, surrounded by green fields in the rural Irish countryside. However it is only about 35 minutes from Belfast and about 10 minutes from Lurgan. It is also about 30 minutes from Belfast International Airport.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Edwin welcomed us and were provided with a comfortable room (#7)
The facilities were perfect for a short stay and we enjoyed a pleasant breakfast before departing the following morning. I can highly recommend if you want somewhere calm and relaxed in beautiful countryside and near Lough Neagh.

We stayed at the beginning of August 2018 for 4 nights - there were four of us; myself, partner and two boys.

The house had ample parking and is situated right next to Lough Neagh. The house has charm, as do the hosts; Edwin and his wife. We were all made to feel very welcome and were shown to our family room. There's no TV, but hey ho, we welcomed the complete escape from the outside world. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The lake location meant lots of bugs at night, but this is well out of the control of the hosts and didn't cause us any problems at all as Edwin told us to keep windows closed at night if we had the light on.

It's very much a working house and we were made very welcome when using the facilities - we used the family fridge to store our food and often had evening chats with the hosts and other guests when we went down to the kitchen at night.

Breakfast (tea/coffee/endless toast/cereal) was included in the price; a full Irish being optional. We certainly had our money's worth. We didn't expect five star all singing/all dancing - we got what we expected. A comfortable stay in an old Irish farmhouse.

On our next visit to family in NI we will definitely visit again; my partner is travelling over alone next week and hopes to book again.

I stayed at this B&B with my family and we enjoyed every second of it! The owners were very helpful and friendly and the whole experience was like visiting relatives. We particularly enjoyed having fresh fruit and veg from the organic garden. Our hosts did everything and more to make us as comfortable as possible. The nearby town provides everything needed to enjoy the best of both worlds. Best to have your own car, although you can always call a cab. 5 stars all the way... Highly recommended.

Good grief, where do I start!

Nothing spectacular on the outside, but that's understandable as it's a country house B&B rather than a hotel. The owner who met us was certainly nice and friendly. The inside however, oh my word. We were shown upstairs to a twin room. The front wall of the room was not a wall, just painted chipboard, like it was a bigger space divided up into smaller rooms. The door had gaps around the edge. I'm not sure how this is even legal as I'm sure in a fire this DIY bedroom would be up in flames in a heartbeat.

Inside the "room" things didn't improve. Dusty everywhere, more DIY walls, a random door beside one of the beds that was seemingly not in use? The jar of coffee beside the kettle was so old and stale that when you turned the jar upside down the coffee didn't move.

The bathroom (shared) was small and grubby and had big spreading damp stains above the shower.

The walls were so thin that we could hear every word that other guests were saying.

Needless to say we just abandoned the sunken ship and went to a different B&B.

These premises are simply not fit to be in use by paying guests.

As title suggests, it's not the best place to stay and I did not expected 5 star level for the price I paid.

So its livable, area is quite, friendly local people and owners.
The way they treat us was very welcoming and I felt like home.

There is a garden to a front and back, we really had a good time as there are lots of things to play with.

Edwin and Mahbash are so lovely, you feel like you're visiting old friends. We were invited for tea when we arrived and had very interesting chats about the history of this wonderful old farmhouse. The place is nothing fancy but cosy and warm. It's a lovely rural location by Lough Neagh, and breakfast in the morning was really nice.

When we turned up at Lisieux House, we wondered what we had let ourselves in for, it looked like just a house. We went inside for a look then went off to have some dinner in a nearby town.
Upon our return a couple of hours later, Edwin, the owner, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. He made us tea with biscuits and had a nice chat with us.
We went up to our rooms which are very basic with no frills and NO television. While this did not bother us, it may bother others.
We had a really good nights sleep and in the morning Edwin cooked us a lovely breakfast complimented with beautiful home made bread. All in all it was very homely.
The property is situated in a lovely peaceful location on the edge of Lough Neagh.
