We spent two fantastic days in the hotel. The location is awesome, quite remote in a beautiful valley. The rate (93 euros per person per day) included breakfast, a light meal at 3pm, and a copious dinner. The room was large, clean, well furnished (with a sofa and a small desk). The facilities are excellent: 3 saunas, a steam room,...

We stayed at Hohe Gaisl during a hiking trip in the Dolomites. The hotel is situated perfectly in the middle of the mountains far away from any civilisation. There are several good hikes right outside the door. The rooms are cozy and decorated in pure country style. Theres everything you need for a good stay. They're nice and quiet and...

not a place for families that travel with dogs. This is a very out of the way place, near Braies Lake. Unfriendly staff and definitely not user friendly. Pretty, but our mountains are full of pretty spots.. Small hotels in secluded places should cater more to families.

This hotel is at the high end of its 3 star rating with great facilities. We had the loft which was huge. The furnishings are old, and as expected, in the traditional style. However, the room was very functional and had great views across the alpine fields. A gravel road with limited access meant it was wonderfully quiet. The pool...

I recently spent one week at this hotel with some friends. I warmly recommend Hohe Gaisl for the highly professional service it offers. The food is amazing, the rooms very clean and comfy, and the wellness centre is a much-welcomed stop at the end of a day spent hiking in the mountains. Lots of (clearly signed) paths and trails start...

We had visited the Braies/Plätzwiese area before, but never stayed in Hotel Hohe Gaisl which lookes pretty romantic and inviting from the outside. This summer we reserved the "penthouse suite" which must be South Tirolian slang for: a huge attic with a balcony. The people that are running the hotel are provenly old and tired. Welcoming us seemed to take...

All in all a very enjoyable place to stay. The rooms are spotless, we were given an (unsought) upgrade from standard to superior without any extra charge, the staff are very professional (if a little on the chilly side, but then this is more Austria than Italy!), the swimming pool and sauna are superb, the masseuse is highly skilled, and...

Our family spent 4 nights here. We stayed in the Panorama suite and enjoyed the very spacious room with a stunning view of the mountains! An old stylish place, but with everything (and more!) we could expect! We spent the days hiking in the surrounding mountains after being served a big breakfast buffet. In the afternoon we would return for...

What a gem ! We were doing a 7 day trek and had been booked into the dormitory of the refuge next door which is absolutely abysmal. Fortunately, there was a room available here. It was delightful. The hotel is gorgeous, the service wonderful and the situation breathtaking. The half-board dinner was excellent as was breakfast. The public areas, particularly...

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at Hotel Hohe Gaisl deep in the Dolomites where it feels more like Austria than Italy. The hotel is a friendly, family owned and run small hotel in the most perfect location surrounded by snow capped mountains, at an altitute of 6,500 feet. The hotel was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained and...
