We arrived mid afternoon and were quite quickly shown to our very nice room. The delay was due to the fact that to take a print of my credit card we had to run around the garden to find a connection. Food was excellent. We particularly liked the ceviche. Pool was sparkling but cold. The views onto the lagoon were...

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel was recommended by Rafe at our excellent travel agent, Journey Latin America. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We were accommodated in lagoon-side suite which looked very similar to the one currently pictured. As you may deduce from from the picture, our room was superb and we could walk down to...

Bacalar overall was such a magnificent place and the hotel was great. The pictures don't do it justice. Is a much nicer and sophisticated in person. There is no TV or Wifi in the rooms, so if this is a must for you, be warned. But, if like me, you want a clean, exclusive place to be, this is great....

Lovely property at a spectacular spot! Take a kayak and enjoy the laguna or book the boat tour the hotel as on offer. We also would recommend a visit to the cenote azul but you would have to take a cab. Rooms come in various sizes. They are all quite private and set in a wonderful garden. The swimming pool...

This is a superb hotel, very well run and in an amazing location right on the Bacalar Lagoon. The thatched bungalow rooms are very large and comfortable set amongst lush vegetation and have every convenience for guests. The restaurant was very good indeed and surprisingly well priced considering the guests have little option to go elsewhere. Breakfast was superb, as...

We had a wonderful, reasonable package deal. Our casita was lake side with a wonderful view, outside sitting, and lake swings. The place was well maintained. Lake access was wonderful. The new pool was a delightful addition and the spa relaxing. Our breakfasts and dinners were some of the best food we've had in Mexico and we live here. Our package...

What could have been a lovely stay in a pretty setting was marred by a three or four young families who allowed their very young children to run everywhere, including the dining area, without any restraint. Kids should be outside playing having fun, but two days of them running and screaming around diners at every meal took the shine off...

As a group of friends (couples with young babies), we enjoyed a weekend at Rancho Encantado without having to leave the premises. The grounds are very nice: spread out cabanas, some in the garden and some on the lakefront, a restaurant pretty much open air, a swimming pool and direct access to the lake. Our room was a Suite Laguna...

We spent 11 days in the Southern Yucatan with 2 nights at a hotel near Mahahual and 7 nights at Explorean Kohunlich which was fantastic. This trip was to celebrate my Birthday (big round number) and doing what I love most which is exploring and enjoying nature. We wanted to spend our last day and night directly on the Bacalar...
