My wife and I spend a great deal of time in the Yucatan. Some friends from Paris suggested we visit this particular hotel, which is about a three hour drive from Akumal where we were staying. We had visited Bacalar several times in the past, but never ventured out on the lake. Our drive south was uneventful, lots of great...

Bacalar Lagoon is wonderful and unique in the world. And this Hotel is the best way to enjoy it. The food is first class and amazingly affordable. The rooms are classy and comfortable. Claudia at the reception and the rest of the staff are charming and attentive. We'll be back!

What a great find. Rancho Encantado, at km marker 24, sits on Bacalar lagoon. The large room on the lagoon had plenty of space for the comfortable bed, a sitting area and plenty of storage area. The unit we stayed in was furthest from highway 307, thus quiet. The interior bathroom had walls painted with Mayan stories. Claudia, at reception...

Rancho Encantado in Bacalar is, indeed, an enchanted place (as in the name). We enjoyed the well-manicured grounds, the charming bungalow casitas, and the excellent service - especially from Claudia. The manager, Elias, is also muy simpático. This is a family-oriented place, with lots of safe activities for the kids (paddle boats, kayaks, etc.). By the way, we were the...

I'm about to consider it the best hotel I've ever stayed in (and I try to travek as much as I can). Attention, rooms and food is amazing. But that is not the best thing. It is ITS LITTLE LOVELY PIER. During the day, swimming & kayaking there is great! At night you'll get to see a sky with so...

Nothing it's wrong about this place. It's quiet and peaceful (September 2011). The food and cocktails are good and the service is spot on. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with a little rustic touch. The resort is right on this spectacular lagoon and offers you many facilities to enjoy the most of it. We can't wait to come back...

I stayed at Rancho Encantado at the end of October. Our cabaña was facing the lagoon and it was very clean. The staff was amazing with us... Claudia, Epi and Roberto. The food really surprised us! everything was perfect. The only thing that bothered us was that the road is very close but this little piece of paradise is worth...

We intended to stay just one night at Rancho Encantado on our way to Palenque. It was just a stopover. But we were warmly greeted, we had a wonderful, restful night and the surroundings we beautiful. We spontaneously decided to see Palenque some other time and enjoy two more nights at this resort. Rooms: we had a garden casita with...
