An absolute hidden gem that many people do not know about. Opppsite a very well known vinery this oasis of 35 hectares lies a monastery that has been converted into the most equisite Masseria. From driving into the property and entering reception, we could see the little touches made to make the Masseria special. We were greeted by an amazing lady who checked us in and made such an effort to make my sisters birthday holiday. Sparkling rose, fruits and a lovely message awaited in our suite. The wine tasting with food was so educational and well conducted. The tour around the property was also a lovely touch with its history. Dinner was exceptional and we thank the chef for accommodating a vegetarian family. Breakfast was ok and not like the other Masseria’s we had stayed in - where they had home made cakes, Jams and breads, this was a bit different. Be warned, pancakes and crepes are an additional cost. I loved the fresh fruit growing in the property. The 2 pools, secret garden and not forgetting the small details in each suite. This Masseria and the interior designer should be given an award. There wwas nothing in particular not to dislike - however a few points to note : - basic spaghetti with olive oil and garlic cost €24 - wine tasting - most masserias do this for free or at a reduced rate and encourage you to buy the wine. Maybe this could be included ? - the extremely rude Italians sitting at breakfast - staring, watching and talking about us - even the chef was involved made us feel very uncomfortable.

Response from Paolo Pupillo, Direttore generale at Masseria Li Reni
Responded 8 May 2023
Dear Ash, thank you for sharing your experience at Masseria Li Reni. It's great to hear that you found it to be a hidden gem and enjoyed your stay overall. It's also wonderful to hear that the staff went out of their way to make your sister's birthday holiday special. However, I'm sorry to hear that the breakfast didn't live up to your expectations, although it is one of the services most appreciated by our guests. We work every day to improve ourselves and offer you a pleasant and complete experience. As for the rude Italians sitting at breakfast, I'm sorry that this made you feel uncomfortable. It's not acceptable for anyone to make others feel unwelcome Overall, it sounds like you had a lovely stay at Masseria Li Reni and enjoyed many aspects of the property and your experience. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and observations. We hope to have you here again as our welcome guests! Best regards. Paolo Pupillo General Manager

Whe we arrived we had a late dinner in the restaurant. Beautiful place, great food, fresh and well ballanced tastes. The room was comfortable and located in the garden. The morning breakfast was a wonderful experience. Irina and Izebela took so good care of us that we will remember. We enjoyed to walk in the beautiful garden and use the swimming pool. The location is good for all kind of activities. We would love to return. Cheers, a family from NL.

It is a special place, the best if you want to rest and enjoy the beautiful property. Amazing building with the highest level of comfort... bathrooms, bed, temperature, tranquility.. everything is top and spotless. We stayed in the suite Helena, stunning and huge. The gardens and pools are a dream to enjoy the tranquility and the stunning surroundings, its like paradise where you find olive trees, fig trees, prickly pear cacti, flowers, lemon trees, a real dream. Also, the people taking care of the place, Simona, Verna and Felizia, are awesome. Simona is sooo nice, with her baked delicacies in the morning is the star, Verna always ready to help and Felizia was very sweet when we arrived exhausted and gave us the tour. As well will like to mention the house keepers and the men in the garden, they do a great job. Location is very good, near Manduria with many options for dinner, 15 minutes to the beach and a lot to see around if you are interested in art, in Lecce, Gallipoli, Oria and other towns I recommend the place 100 percent, and cannot think of anything which was not perfect. I could spend my vacations there every year... Hopefully we'll come back soon.. Grazie mille!

Had a lovely (last minute!) stay at Masseria Li Reni. It is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. The pools are both great and the forested area looks like a fairytale. Breakfast features homemade cakes each morning. It is a new masseria, but nonetheless has an old charm to it. Our room had an amazing view of sunsets, and was spacious and very nicely decorated.

Rarely have I felt more like a king than during our wonderful visit to this sumptuous country retreat. We had 4 days of perfect relax and luxury. From the flower lined road that takes you through the vineyards to the main Masseria, to the warm and personable staff who welcomed us on our arrival, everything was a delightful discovery. The large suite was incredible; warm, elegant, and romantic. The grounds and gardens are perfectly maintained. There are lots of places to wander or relax and there are plenty of places to swim; 2 swimming pools, an enormous in suite bathtub, a hottub, and beautiful nearby beaches on the southern coast. The house offered us some of their delicious wines from the estate to enjoy as a welcome package and we certainly wasted no time in making ourselves welcome. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent and varied, and again the attentive staff were there to provide everything necessary to begin our day well. It is a shame Michelin doesn't give stars for breakfast buffets. There are lots of nice restaurants in the nearby historic center of Manduria for dinner and an evening stroll but there is a small kitchen area in the suite as well in case you want to prepare some meals on your own. If I wanted to sum up the experience I would say: Romantic, Luxurious, Relaxed, and Welcoming. Would highly recommend Masseria Li Reni for an elegant escape for two or a weekend in wine country. Many thanks to Vera and the staff. I hope to return soon.

Just the drive alone to this amazing masseria is simply breathtaking....Vineyards, olive trees, spring flowers in all imaging colors, cactus and big rosemary bushes. When u drive towards the masseria you feel like a princess/prince coming home. Vera and a blond lady (so sorry we can’t recall her name) gave us the most warmest welcome, witch made us feel home. We had the room in the “tower” beautiful set up for a snacking luncheon and of course the tasty Vespa wines. We sleepy in heaven! The next day Mr. Salvatore gave us a tour around the vineyards followed by a tasting of 6 stunning newcomers - Vespa Wines! Thank you so much for having us - we all loved it!
