Rude and aggressive bar staff, stale cigarettes smell everywhere. Locals prioritised and cheep food microwave in weekdays. Rooms damp and smelly. Pub made payment before arriving. Never felt welcome and would of left and gone elewhere if it was not already booked. Overheard people stating there were local people fighting in the previous week. Cannot recommend.
Staff were unfriendly and rude. All of the food was processed and minimal. There were not a lot of options when it comes to drink considering the amount of local breweries. Overall it was a disappointing end to my family’s week away
We visit West Burton regularly and always enjoy a visit to the Fox & Hounds. This time we had food and drink there and were not disappointed. We had the boozy beef casserole which was excellent full of soft and tender beef and really tasty. The children eat from the kids menu and the meals were polished off in record time. All the meals are priced reasonably. The staff are very friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Great pub, excellent location with a park across the road for the children, with brilliant staff and food. Well worth a visit.
Reading some other reviews, surely they must have got the right pub name but wrong place. The pub was cosy and friendly and the food was reasonably priced and more than ample portions. The fish platter was tasty and my lasagne lovely. In a lovely setting with a Village Green and a small park.On the doorstep of a beautiful waterfall walk.
Called in whilst passing as it had been over 10 years since we had last been in while holidaying in the village. It's a lovely pub in a picture perfect village, one of our faves in the Dale's. The fire was lit and the welcome was friendly. My wife had a tea and I sampled afew real ales. We didnt have any food so cannot comment but we really do like this pub and area, will definitely not be another 10 years till we return.
