The paris hotel is a pub hotel situated in the small fishing village of coverack,on top of the harbour with water on three sides. The rooms are all brand new and finished to a high standard as of easter 2013. They are all en suite with great sea views from every room. The pub offers friendly and relaxed service with cask mark ales, locally sourced meat, vegtables and fish fresh from the harbour, all of which can be eaten in the bar or restaurant also with water on three sides.(a great function room) on nice days there is also a large garden area. Catering for weddings, birthdays and other large parties is not a problem.

We stayed here for two nights during our post-lockdown venture to Cornwall.
This hotel lived up to our expectations and did not disappoint in any way.
Friendly staff who maintained Covid distancing throughout, they wore visors and sanitised all tables, chairs and other surfaces before and after use.
We were very confident in their approach to keep us safe.
Our room was spacious and well appointed, with an excellent view over the bay.
The food was very good and served in a well spaced restaurant surrounded with large windows. I must extend my thanks Max the waiter for his diligence in restaurant cleaning as well as his excellent service.
We had a very enjoyable stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Visited on a Sunday at 2pm in January, it was quiet and we were sat in the rear of the pub in the part with best views across the water. After 5 mins we had to collect the menu from the bar, the waitress informed us of several items sold out which to be honest left not much choice. There is a special board but that was lacking in choice. The waitress was very friendly and took our drinks and food order. The meals were presented well and hot. Four of us ordered haddock and chips and the consensus was the batter was greasy. The jacket potato was good. The location of The Paris Hotel is perfect at the end of a beautiful cove and on top of a cliff overlooking the sea... stunning views. It's a real shame that when you spend time in the restaurant area it's looks tired and grubby. The menus are tired and attention to detail would improve the feel of the surroundings and encourage return custom. Waitress was very friendly, by herself and busy.... And the background music was club volume one minute and hushed the next..not a great ambience.

We booked this hotel as we were walking part of the Southwest Coastal Path, and this hotel could not be more convenient. The hotel is situated right on the sea wall and has lovely views out over the water. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We ate dinner at the hotel and I went for one of the species of the day, half grilled local lobster, which was tasty, and dinner was good value.

The room was a little tired, especially the bathroom and would benefit from refurbishment. The room I stayed in had the extractor for the kitchen outside the window, which I personally found the noise from it irritating when it was running. However, it was turned off at night and I was already awake when they turned it on in the morning.

The outside seating area overlooking the bay was a lovely place to sit, relax and enjoy a pint or two of the local ale.

Nothing on their website matches the experience. Web photos show dining tables laid with white linen, napkins and full cutlery, quality glasses, and boasts ' fine dining' with fresh home cooked produce. The reality is, sticky, bare tables, knife and fork wrapped in paper napkin, a tatty grubby plastic menu featuring mostly fried food or burgers. Starters were chowder, fried whitebait, fried squid, or soup. Mains, once burger & fish&chips removed, a choice of 2 or 3. As a Wetherspoons goes, it was average, but Ive never waited an hour and a half for a meal at 'Spoons.
Yes, they were busy ...but if your kitchen cannot
cope, don't take the orders. Yes, it's 'Covid', but ive been to many pubs & restaurants in the last few months where standards are maintained.
It was supposed to be a treat, a night away for my son & girlfriend and a family meal together. What it turned out to be was a long wait for incredibly average food that arrived long after we'd stopped caring. They couldn't even get a bread basket on the table in under 40 minutes.
Lovely views, but that's it. Id as soon eat at Tesco's.

2 night stop over walking the swcp
Only our second visit last being when the flood occurred. Noted the pub snd thought ideal place to stay when we wanted to walk west
Unique position for the hotel/pub right on the headland behind the harbour, with unspoilt views of the sea from the beer garden snd rooms, before we booked I read older feedback for the previous lease holder and they were not the best. New Patron who is making inroads to making improvements all around.
All the staff we met were welcoming and friendly from check in to evening meal snd breakfast great experience,
As the only pub in the village it’s a pub downstairs reasonably busy with passing trade in the day, then busier with local tradesmen/fishermen mixed in with the likes of ourselves in the evening, typical bar experience in the evening. We chose to eat in the first night as not aware of local offerings, booking advised as the tables appear to go early.
noted comments ref sticky tables, possibly the cleaners being used ?
The food we ate was served in good time and of good quality we could not fault it,
Our room was possibly the family room clean, with double bed and a brown leatherette sofa which was a pull out sofa bed
( we thought a dresser or coffee table in front would have been ideal but the pull out bed explains why none present.
Em suite appeared to have been refurbished in recent times modern sink and powerful shower.
Bed mattress was comfy but dips away at the sides, may only need turning to spread the wear or replacing we both noted this.
You can’t beat the sound of the sea crashing in windows open at night
So relaxing -
the kitchen fan on 0745 ish for breakfast but generally switched off again 0930 ish was the only downside with the overall ambience, (costly to rectify I would imagine)
room views were amazing ever changing with the different states of the tide,
Breakfast choice of cereals fruit juice and yogurt
Full English with favourable ingredients the free range eggs were to die for

Keep on improving the accommodation side you have a lovely spot there,
Rustic experience, we enjoyed our stay thank you.

We had an amazing meal at The Paris this evening and were so impressed with all the staff are doing to keep all the customers safe whilst creating a very relaxed environment. Enjoyed a delicious meal - highly recommend the fish pie and the chowder. A big thank you to Ian and the whole team who are doing such a great job. Can't wait to return!

Booking just three days before our travel meant a four day break from a Friday was proving difficult to find. The Paris a Hotel came up on our search and it had one remaining room left, we booked it so we didn’t miss it. Never having heard of Coverack, we were quite excited about somewhere new to visit for our six monthly trip to our much loved county of Cornwall.
We were not disappointed. The room was small but perfectly adequate. It was very clean, with fresh crisp white bed linen and a cosy feel. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and the breakfast was good. The restaurant food was excellent, especially the mussels which were on the specials board. The steak, and the cod and chips on the main menu were very good, cooked to perfection.
The hotel is a great base for travelling by car to other towns and villages in the area. Thanks to Ian and the staff we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate in booking to to stay there again. To top the great stay for us we also saw dolphins in the bay.

Ian and his staff are amazing in the most trying of covid circumstances. They all work really hard, especially when staff are short. They have adapted to meet people’s needs with take away pints and take out food.

We stayed for a night in between holiday accommodation and yes the family room was cramped for two teens and two adults but they had warned us about that when we booked a year ago. It was clean and tidy and the price was reasonable and we felt it was just for one night. The Paris is very dog friendly, our dogs were given their own sausages with our delicious breakfast in the morning.

We have eaten at the pub each time we have visited over the past 5 years and it’s really nice food, lovely seafood, great homemade puddings and decent portions - its unusual to fill teenagers up with starters and mains and for them to turn down puddings! As a result of this you will need to book in advance. This year it was no different and we booked for another two nights of food.

It can be very easy to criticise people and their establishments but the facts are that The Paris has hardworking friendly staff, great food and they are turning away bookings as they are so full up. That says more than picky reviews.

Staying at the local Youth Hostel the family of 21 from Surrey, Wiltshire, Bristol and Sweden visited the Paris Hotel for Sunday lunch. Carveries I have visited in the past have been relatively unimpressive. This cannot be said for this place. Meat cooked to perfection (great crackling!!) spuds and veg not left under a heat lamp to go dry and replenished when needed without having to wait. Interesting facts about the massive storm they had in the village dotted around the pub with stories from the locals too. Definitely recommend. Well done guys.

Visited today for lunch, staff very friendly and talkative, food nice.
Negatives no soap in the men's toilets and other customers making comments because we had children with us! . (Not the businesses fault)

Overall a nice visit tho
