We arrived at our caravan on Friday the 23rd and stayed until Monday the 26th and all I can say is I wish we booked longer. When we arrived our caravan was spotless very happy and was definitely up to standard, we went to the restaurant for dinner and the lovely bar staff chanelle and chev worked well together to made sure we had everything we needed, chanelle made sure we had all cutlery and sauces and helped us carrying the drinks to the table as we had young children. The new swimming pool is lovely I wish the sessions were longer than 45 minutes although we did go twice in one day! I would definitely recommend and we will be returning again later in the year!

We have just got back from a week in a Platinum Lodge at Dovercourt. We had a brilliant time. We have stayed in a number of different lodges at a variety of holiday parks and this was probably the nicest one yet. The big bonus with these ones was that the Platinum Lodges are next to a green open area of grass which was a great place for our children to play out. They chummed up with other children from the surrounding lodges and had a brilliant time playing together.

The lodge was very smart and well cared for. It felt very clean on arrival. Reception were very helpful whenever I contacted them. We had to phone Reception each day to book swimming slots for the following day and this system worked pretty well. The swim slots were for 45 minutes at hourly intervals. The pool never felt over crowded. The baby pool gave my 3 year old a good place to splash safely and then 6 year old liked the slide. You have to arrive swim ready and there are no changing rooms but we are used to that by now! There are nice robes in the lodge that are good to put on after swimming.

The playground on site was also good for my age of children and we were thrilled with the short drive to the beach and the copious free parking right along the sea front!!!

We found lots of nice places to visit in the local area and would certainly come back to Dovercourt on a future visit.

The only very slight suggestion for improvement would be more than 4 sets of cutlery and mugs etc but we just did the washing up on a regular basis. A teapot would also be helpful but not essential obviously.

You get given an oven glove for one hand, a dishwasher tablet, a tube of washing up liquid and a sponge for washing up. You may wish to bring more dishwasher tablets with you. A tea towel is not provided but we were told this in advance. There was a washing machine too and this came in handy after my children dropped chocolate ice cream all over themselves!

We also brought a blackout blind to attach to the window in the children's room to try to stop them waking us up at dawn. There was a blind already but our extra one helped.

There are lots of USB sockets in each room as well as normal sockets. There were walk in cupboards in both bedrooms so there was loads of storage space for clothes etc.

We had a brilliant week.

Booked a last minute weekend break with Park Holidays to Dovercourt Holiday Park. We arrived about 6,20pm and on entering reception we were welcomed with a warm reception, given our caravan details, a welcome pack and map. Caravan was a doddle to fine, vans are nicely spaced out with an allocated parking space next to your caravan. We booked a gold plus 2 bedroom and it was spotless, beds all made up and loved the little touch of a gift box containing scourer, j cloth and washing up liquid. We really just dumped our bags and went over to the entertainment venue, 2 reps were working very hard entertaining the children who appeared to be having a whale of a time. Drinks prices seemed the same as all holiday parks. Played the link bingo and actually shared a one line win - result - first time ever. In house entertainment on Friday night and they kept everyone entertained. Guests all really friendly and I became an honourable member of a hen party. Everyone was so friendly and staff work tirelessly to put on a good show and keep guests happy. The site is in a brilliant location, not far from the historical town of Harwich with loads of places of interest or if you prefer near to Clacton on Sea and Walton on the Naze which will keep both adults and kids entertained. Back to the actual park, all areas were very clean, lovely play areas for the children to play, loads of entertainment and activities for them to do, didn't use the pool but did have a nose and it looked very good along with the soft play area and other things for children to do - again all the staff were brilliant and very friendly. We did do the crazy golf which kept us amused for an hour or so. Entertainment on Saturday night was a singer, he was fine. We really loved this park, perfect location for us with plenty to do, we even booked whilst there to come back in October. Rachel in reception dealt with our booking and she was amazing, she said she was new and still learning but she is already a great asset for Park Holidays, Nikki was fab as well, both friendly and helpful. So as you can see we had a fab holiday and now not only will we be back in October but I'm sure we will become regulars.

We have just come back from a Monday to Friday break in a 2 bedroom gold plus caravan I think it was number B5.

We usually go on caravan breaks every October half term but missed out last year due to Covid and we booked this with Park Holidays having never have heard of them and also having never been in the Dovercourt area before either.

After a nightmare trip which took double the time we were pleasantly surprised with our caravan which was lovely and clean. It was very spacious for 2 adults a teenager and an 8 year old. The full size cooker and fridge freezer were fantastic as well as a combination microwave. The heating was very good with the caravan being warm and toasty within minutes. We didn’t realise that as well as a family bathroom with a shower the double bedroom also had a separate en suite toilet and sink which was very welcome.

The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils needed and everything was clean.

On our first night we decided to eat in the on site restaurant. We were advised there that our food would be at least an hour and the queue at the bar was at least 20 minutes which wasn’t ideal. The kids were kept entertained in the arcade and won enough sweets to last them the whole break! Happy kids means happy adults.

The food was lovely however the online menu advised chicken dippers were one of the kids meals options but we were advised this menu was out of date, which was a little disappointing to our chicken dipper mad 8 year old.

Swimming had to be booked the day before and we were advised on arrival that the slots for the next day were fully booked. However at around 7pm we received a phone call advising us of a cancellation which was very good service. After that we had no issues booking slots every day.

We all loved Dovercourt! It’s not a huge all singing and dancing park but that’s the magic it meant we spent more time together as a family whether it be swimming or at the park there or football court.

Our teenager actually asked if we could have another holiday there and we are seriously considering it.

Thank you Dovercourt for a great holiday!

Got back yesterday after doing a Monday to Friday break. On arrival was very impressed by the place. Reception staff were all really lovely and friendly, got our keys and passes easily. Stayed in a gold plus caravan and was very impressed with it. It was immaculate. Restaurant/entertainment area is lovely and big and also immaculate. Swimming pool is perfect for all ages and was extremely clean, only downfall was you only get 45 minute sessions at the moment which wasn’t long enough for my kids as swimming is there favourite thing when we are away. But I know with current circumstances that can’t be helped.
Only downfalls there was the shop which doesn’t really stock much and it’s only the really cheap products sold in there. And the arcades had problems every day and night, the 2p machines need updating as they kept getting blocked. And nearly every other machine in there had problems everyday, the young man who you had to speak to if there was any problems in there was very unprofessional and upset my nephew who has autism and other needs on two separate nights. I also witnessed him telling children to go away when they were asking for his help. I’m afraid if your going to work in an arcades then you need to be people and child friendly. There needs to be someone working in there the whole time the arcades are open as there is constant problems with the machines and it was a nightmare to keep tracking the young man down. Maybe a revamp of the arcades would be a positive thing.
Other than that we had a lovely time and all the other staff members were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely return here again soon.

Just arrived home from a 2 night stay in a camping pod at this park.
They are very sweet little wooden pods and perfect for a couple of nights break. May have felt a little small for longer.
The park itself was so clean and well run. The pods were a stones throw from toilets and washing facilities which were perfectly cleaned everytime I went in.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful and all doing there best to make trips work in still difficult times.
The pool was brand new and warm and lovely and I normally hate going swimming!
So helpful that you can order food from outside takeaways and they deliver to reception as not much way of cooking at the pods!
Nearby was lovely for walks by the sea with our dog and great views into country and sea.
If anything we could recommend would be a few more hooks to hang things on in the pods and maybe a few shelves but all in all perfect for a mini break with family and dog!

Staff in club have been amazing throughout our stay but especially on the night of the final !!

Credit where credits due... perfect night no delay on food or drink orders and all staff covid compliant wearing masks and cleaning down table efficiently !!

Toilets are spotless in club.

Caravan we stayed in was gleaming.

Took us 7 hours to get here for the weekend from Liverpool and would do it again.

Stayed in a pod which was just as expected small but clean and cute double bed uncomfortable could do with a mattress upgrade (pod 2) but what let the pod down was the disgusting shower and toilet block was dirty a few toilets didn't work sinks and shower were dirty you just didn't want to be in them but had to as had no other choice they had code locks on the door but they didn't work so everyone would use and abuse them as for the cobwebs and spiders in them if cleaned regularly properly wouldnt be there.
The entertainment venue was so overpriced food and drink. Food was basic pub grub but not pub grub prices bar staff were not friendly at all boardering on rude.
Site was over run with intimidating groups of teenagers not very family friendly at all. Office staff were nice and helpful that was about it.
No security seen on site and there needs to be. People drive around the site way to fast. Booked for 2 nights only stayed 1 as barely got any sleep as the man opposite us decided to get home late turn his car stereo up full blast open all the doors and have a party for one outside his pod for 2 hours till late not thinking/caring about the rest of the families in the other pods but there was no one to call ie security he was far from approachable to ask to turn it down infact looked insane drinking and flashing a strob light in his face to loud drum and bass.
It says free WiFi but infact costs £10 for 4 days and isn't very reliable.
Pool is only bookable 24 hours in advance for a 45 min session or you que at 9am to book on the day for a session at reception.
To sum it all up was not a very nice experience at all and I would never recommend to anyone. 2 stars is for the pod only nothing else.

We have just returned from a last minute mini staycation, family of 4 plus fur baby (small dog).
We booked a caravan that slept 4 and was dog friendly. To be honest we didn’t have extremely high hope on the standard of caravan as we had booked a dog friendly one but on arrival we were blown away. We absolutely fell in love with our little mini home from home caravan with veranda (which we wasn’t expecting!) it was spotless throughout and smelt amazing, we could not smell any previous furry holiday makers and there wasn’t any staining on the sofa compared to our stay at New Beach! The hubby even wanted to book an extra night he was that impressed as was we all. When travelling with a dog we always bring blankets to cover the sofa as she always loves a cuddle and know just how frustrating it would be to not walk away from a caravan as we found it!
The whole park was well presented.
Swimming pool was clean and new and the children enjoyed the slide a lot! Booking system opens at 9 the to book for the next day.
Receptionist were always helpful.
We didn’t do the evening entertainment as we had the dog but did use the bar to get a drink and sat outside.
We enjoyed a walk along Pennyhole Bay (very fitting as our dog is called Penny)
A walk up to the sea wall and a little stay on the dog friendly beach area. There was a food truck in the car park so that was very handy for a hot snack or a ice cream.
Enjoyed a ride around the park on the Dino cars (bookable at the reception) and a visit to the arcade those some of the games were not working but my son found the stars wars game so was happy with that.
The fish and chip shop is only open Thursday to Sunday from 5pm and we have this a try on our last night. Good size portions.
If you do fancy eating of the park we would recommend the Waterfront, we managed to book an outside table before our stay and was lucky to have lovely weather, again a lovely walk up the beach to get there.
Overall we would definitely be coming back for another dog staycation soon.
Thank you Dovercourt Park holidays for a lovely stay.

My family attended this park for a weekend away after lockdown had ended and was Very Disappointed..... that we only booked a weekend we had such an amazing time. The accommodation was nice and clean All the Staff we met( Reception, bar, shop and lifeguards) were friendly and very helpful And the park star team ( Jordan Hannah Aimee Dan Nathan and Cathy) Where Amazing they made us feel so welcome and Made my girls seem much more confident with their entertainment and friendly conversations, they always had time to answer any questions we had. There were activities for us to do as a family Which we enjoyed included The Rise and shine club, Krazy Krew, Painting pottery, Creating your own Teddy bear and segway riding (which is run by the park star Krew, which allowed us to become familiar with them which was nice) as well as an indoor pool and Great Evening entertainment. all Entertainment and staff was very accommodating considering we were outside for social distancing. Over all I would definitely Recommend Dovercourt Park holiday to anyone. It was just what we needed and we can't wait to go back.
