Great option in Luganville, slightly outside town so worth having a car. We rented one through Erick (Erick Williams ) which was delivered to the resort and we left at the airport at no extra charge. We hired a Kia Morning which was tiny and got us around, but in hindsight, due to the potholes, would have opted for a 4WD.
We stayed 5 nights in total and started in a family room near the car park and it was musty and noisy so we were very grateful to the manager, Stuart, for his flexibility and moving us to two separate bungalows at the front of the resort. These were very pleasant, facing the water and spacious enough for 2-3 people, with a sink and fridge, ensuite and a lovely place to sit outside. The big pool area was very inviting (pool water quite cool in June), and was a gorgeous place to have breakfast each morning, overlooking the water. You can walk on the beach and in the morning watch the locals trying to net some fish. Breakfast itself was nothing special as there was little fresh fruit to be had and just muffins, white bread to toast and condiments, but it was ok. We ate dinner here once, had the pizza, and it was good. There is a communal kitchen that you might be able to use which meant we were able to cook some much needed veggies (the LCM supermarket in Luganville was very well stocked and catered to foreigners). Staff were very helpful, friendly and rooms were cleaned every day. We had a very enjoyable stay though recommend the standalone bungalows and having a car.

Stayed four nights then checked out and stayed at a small bungalow at Port Olry for about a week before staying again at the Beachfront resort.

Recommend visiting Champagne beach and the Port Olry white sandy beaches. :)

Staff were very helpful especially Lincoln in the front office. He was very accommodating and even took us out for our first kava session EVER on his off-time at the Starfish bar just past Saint Michel.

Resort food was good however the restaurant service was consistently slow where we would have to walk up to waiting staff to order our drinks and meals.

Our room was what we paid for and when the pool was good to use our kids were very happy.

On our 2nd stay the front office organised some drinks for us and the kids to welcome us back.

Overall: ok rooms. Awesome staff. Good food. Restaurant waiting staff need to be more switched on. Pool needs to be good to use everyday.

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. We spent 4 nights in one of the sea facing bungalows and it was well worth the upgrade from the other room types. The resort is peaceful and it is nice to explore the beachfront and surrounding areas.
The only things that keep this from scoring a 5 star review is the pool and villa balcony furniture, which is a little hard and uncomfortable and also the prices of the food at the resort. It is simply over priced for the quality, sadly.

Thank you for your complementary review. I am bewildered regarding your comments about our swimming pool as it is sparkling clean and wonderfully inviting. It is one our most popular features. The consistency of meals is sometimes difficult to maintain for a number of reasons but the duty kitchen staff do their best and will always try to please. The balcony timber furniture is made strong to survive tropical weather conditions. We have just receive a delivery of new chairs which should be more comfortable but less durable. We have taken note of your comments. We hope to see you again soon.

We had a brief visit to the Beachfront Resort for lunch. It was very very good. Our friends raved about the fish and chips, the beer batter must have been made on “Tusker”. The grilled dog tooth tuna was top class and the fish curry was very tender and flavorsome. If you are on Santo you must eat here.

I truly wish I could give a good rating but sadly my room had bed bugs, which besides being very uncomfortable caused quite a bit of anxiety which put a huge damper on my holiday and will be costly to handle when I get back to Australia as I’ll need to throw away certain items and do a very good clean of others to remove any eggs they may have laid. I had brought up the issue on my second night as I noticed the bites were getting worse and were in lines, typical of bed bugs. Owner told me “there are bed bugs of some kind in every bed” (not exactly an appropriate response) but said he’d get housekeeping to look. I was able to change rooms, and did not find out until I checked out that they did in fact find them and didn’t even bother to tell me. I was not offered any sort of compensation for this initially, and when I asked calmly and politely as I explained the situation the owner was extremely abrasive and condescending, but did end up comping me one night. As a travel agent if any of my clients ever had that experience I know the operators I work with would offer significant compensation immediately, in addition to vowing to rectify the situation so no other travelers would have to go through it. For reference I was in room 14 and room 9 so I would not recommend staying in either until it’s been handled, while there didn’t seem to be any in room 9 they can travel in your luggage and I could have brought them from my first room.

Overall, if it weren’t for this issue I would have given 4 stars, as the staff were lovely(minus the male owner)especially Kimberley and Lorna, the pool and restaurant area were beautiful and the location outside of town was nice. If you did choose to stay, I’d suggest a mozzie net as it’s quite easy for them to get in the rooms.

I am the owner of Beachfront Resort and was overseas when your problem with bed bugs occurred. I like to investigate all critical reviews especially ones that score the lowest possible rating which as you know creates a negative opinion and can cost the resort future bookings. I try to bring an objective view to the table but the 4 "terrible" ratings including yours which we have been burdened with over the past 15 years always seem to harbour a hidden personal motive commonly known as "Payback". I have a suspicion it may be in your case "the male owner" who is actually the very experienced and respected resort manager who can be at times somewhat direct and has difficulty tolerating some people and attitudes. Everyone at Beachfront Resort is extremely upset regarding this unpleasant bed bug issue, especially our housekeeping ladies who put their hearts and souls into keeping our rooms and bungalows spotlessly clean for our guests. I have explained to them that it is not their fault that your room had bed bugs as they are pests that travel the World with impunity and are carried in by guests, baggage and other means into even the very best and cleanest hotels and resorts in the World. No one has immunity and every guest or person entering a building whether it be a domestic house. hotel or resort could be a carrier. We have no more chance of stopping bed bugs coming into a resort as we have of stopping the rain. Fortunately bed bugs are very rare in this resort with only 2 reports in 15 years. The first was in 2004 which turned out to be a false alarm and the second in 2018 which has been confirmed and 12 bed bugs were discovered in the mattress lining of your room. The mattress has been burnt, the room and contents fumigated, thoroughly cleaned and taken off line until we are sure there will not be a re-occurrence. I agree that this matter could have been handled more diplomatically, however it is my understanding that the resort manager apologised for the unpleasant experience and promptly relocated you to another room. Reports from staff were that you were happy and cheerful in your new room. I have formed the opinion that this harsh review is due to the disagreement between you and the manager regarding compensation by way of a cash refund. It is the policy of this resort to do everything we can in order to keep our guests happy but compensation and cash refunds is not included in that policy. The resort manager advised me that he eventually gave you a refund to settle the issue. I think most if not all resort owners or managers in Vanuatu would have the same opinion regarding the issue of compensation. Lastly I wish to point out that your comment regarding mosquitos getting into rooms easily is incorrect. All rooms have insect screens and the only way a mosquito can get into a room is if the door is left open. Don't bring a mosquito net unless your going camping in the bush. It is silly to suggest that guests should bring a mosquito net to a resort or hotel. I apologise for your unhappy experience and I thank you for your kind comments regarding our staff and the resort itself however I think your expectations of this resort providing "significant compensation immediately" and vowing to you that it will never happen again are somewhat unrealistic.

We spent 7 nights at Beachfront Resort in a beach front bungalow.Due to flight times from Vila changing several times, when we finally arrived around 10.30 pm every one had gone to bed and the place deserted . However thanks to Timmy our driver and Austin the night watchman this was soon sorted out and we were greeted by a very apologetic Dave. Our beachfront bungalow just a few steps from the beach with amazing views. Breakfast was complimentary.and other meals were very reasonably priced and beautifully cooked
..It's many years since we were last visited Luganville and I was surprised at how much it had changed for the better. We had a lovely 7 days here visiting Champagne Beach, Aore Island and Port Orly. Town is close by you can walk but no pavements so care is needed. We would walk one way and take a taxi back as taxis are very cheap 200VT
The staff were lovely and Lorna in the office was so helpful,.nothing was too much bother for her. Our unit was maintained to a high standard each day and the surrounding grounds and garden were immaculate and up until our last night it was very peaceful. Unfortunately our last night was disturbed by the couple in the bungalow directly behind us having a very loud ,foul mouthed domestic which started at midnight and went on for several hours into the early hours of the morning We were checking out very early so we were unable to complain about this to Management.
Despite this we had a lovely time and I would recommend Beachfront to anyone visiting Luganville Thank you to the wonderful staff for your hospitality and your laughter hopefully we will return

Thank you for your review and kind words. The recent changing flight times have proven a challenge but we have managed to keep everyone happy. I was disappointed to hear about the disturbance you had to endure and have discussed the issue with the on duty security who informed me that he was reluctant to intervene in a domestic dispute. He now knows how to handle this type of situation in future. Happily despite a couple of problems you still managed to enjoy your stay with us. We look forward to seeing you again.

We stayed here for 3 nights and I must say it was the best 3 nights sleep I’ve had on our holiday in vanuatu! We stayed in the ocean front bungalows, its not the most modern but it’s clean, bed was super comfy, has a kitchenette for self catering and has aircon... absolute bonus to walk in to a cool little haven when its a muggy hot night. The resort is located abit out of town but only costs 200 Vatu to town cheap as chips! And right on the beach front you get a stunning cool breeze. We found our stay in Santo to be quite a bore as most tours were not running on the days we were there or quite frankly, only run when the ships are docked in town. So we hung around the resort pool for drinks and lunch everyday and was so much fun. The pool is such a highlight as well as the staff. We got to first name basis with all the staff, very attentive, professional, helpful, caring and they’re not afraid to share a good laugh! Thank you to all the staff for making my 30th birthday vacay at the beachfront resort a beautiful stay! And also to the gentleman at the reception for giving me a pumice stone good luck totem souvenir, such a lovely little gift! Will be sure to stay again on our next holiday!

I had booked a Dolphion room through trip advisor and booking .com for an exceptional price, I this was a promotional price as it changed a few days later on booking.com website. I had it verified twice in emails. However when it came to check out time the manager was very confrontational, I had seen him in action a few times talking to his staff ( which I had found to be very unpleasant). It was such a shame as i had found him to be helpful if abrupt previously. He could learn so much about customer service just by watching and listening to the wonderful staff that work here.
The setting of this resort is lovely, gardens are well looked after and it is so clean.

Thank you for your review and your kind remarks about the resort and our terrific staff. I wish to comment on a few details which you chose not to include in your review. Your booking through booking.com which you described as an exceptional price was for our top of the line waterview bungalow for two people for 6 nights for a total cost of AUD$15.00 OR $2.28 per night. That is not an exceptional price, it is obviously a totally unrealistic price. The approved discounted price offered through booking.com for your booking was AUD$923.00. I can only imagine the tension in the office when you expected to pay $15 for a $923.00 invoice. Eventually the resort manager agreed for you to pay $300 to settle the problem. We have contacted booking.com who are assisting to correct this issue. Booking.com consider bookings with such an un-realistic price as invalid. I have also been advised that the manager who you describe as "unpleasant" supplied a birthday cake free of charge for your adult daughter and assisted you to get the appropriate medical treatment for your daughter when she contracted a severe tropical infection. Finally I would like you to be aware that this resort is responsible for the financial support of over 30 Ni Vanuatu families whose livelihoods depend on visiting resort guests paying the appropriate tariffs and not exploiting obvious glitches of an online booking. If you have any sense of fair play my staff and I will happily accept your cheque for the outstanding $623.00.

Four friends and I had four nights at the beachfront resort over New Years. We stayed in the "backpacker" accommodation which was more akin to a hotel room. Room was spacious and very clean. The staff are exceptional. So friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have the best stay. Staff recommendations on things to do were bang on. Location is close to other restaurants and not far from town. Is also very close to the beach. The pool is awesome too! I highly recommend staying at beachfront. It felt like a home away from home!

The beach area is fine for a walk and kayaking and we did go swimming but not suitable for snorkling as the water isn't clear. You really want to head to the East Coast for crystal clear water.

Yes there are several options. By early September construction should be finished on our Dive and Fishing Section which can offer a wide selection of boating adventures at the resort. In the interim you can book fishing trips through the resort or contact Santo Dive and Fishing.
