We booked this place because of the great reviews, but even then it exceeded our expectations! Loved the place. The owner is so hospitable. The location is perfect for visiting chateaus, vineyards, beautiful towns, and amusement parks for children. There’s a lovely pool to enjoy, the grounds of the house are gorgeous and peaceful! A large field, with singing birds, fruit trees and a tranquil brooke. The rooms are exactly right. Cool despite the lovely weather, no issues with bugs, and if needed, a fan is available. They are clean and spacious enough. Lovely view over the little brooke.
The owner provides a warm welcome, and a wonderful breakfast with a wide variety of food. And delicious cakes!
Can’t fault this place. Will recommend it to all my friends and would love to visit again!

On our way back from Italy to UK we decided to spend a few days exploring the Loire Valley and turned to TA to find an authentic place to stay. The TA reviews were spot on!
The house is full of character and charm set in a wonderful location. Breakfasts are wholesome and full of fresh homemade fayre. Even though we were in the region to sight see we took advantage of the grounds one afternoon for some R&R and my son used the pool and table tennis!
Biggest asset is the owner Florence who was amazing! A font of local knowledge and support, nothing was too much trouble for her, such customer service is not always easy to find! She happily booked local restaurants and enquired about local activities. Her advice was greatly appreciated.
We will definately return.

We spent 4 days in June at Moulin des Landes and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The property is a beautiful, old converted mill with old beams, angled ceilings, crunchy gravel driveway and loads of character and history. You will need a car here. The house is in the pretty village of Vernou-sur-Brenne, away from the usual tourist trails but an easy 30 min drive to both Tours and Amboise. The stream, once used by the mill, runs past the house and along the garden. The house has a huge, beautiful garden at the back, with a pool, outdoor eating area, table tennis and a friendly cat.

We are a family of 4 from Sydney, Australia and arrived in Vernou with a sick child. Florence, our hostess, was wonderfully kind, welcoming and hospitable. She really went out of her way to assist us by arranging a home visit by the local GP and calling restaurants ahead of our arrival to request a simple meal for a child. He soon perked up enough to play table tennis with his brother in Florence's lovely garden.

We stayed in la Suite Touraine, a spacious, comfortable family room and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts which included homemade yoghurts, fruit compotes and local cheese. There was plenty of information and advice available regarding day trips and wine tasting, and we had some wonderful meals at restaurants recommended by Florence. She is a great hostess and we hope to return one day to see some of the sights that we missed!

Great Bed and Breakfast in the middle of Loire Valley. Situated in the picturesque countryside, in an old mill, renovated and nice, clean rooms, welcoming and friendly hosts. Would highly recommend if you are travelling with the car, and want a different, more personal experience than a hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights at the start of September, we couldn't fault the old mill. Florence was the perfect host and was always happy to help, she booked a table at a restaurant for us, reserved bikes for us, nothing was too much trouble, would definitely stay here again! We stayed in the Vouvray suite, lovely room!

We arrived at Le Moulin Des Landeds after a day in driving rain and howling gales, motiring from Calais.

We were immediately welcomed and served tea, then settled into our comfortable room. After a pleasant walk around the ancient village of Vernou we found a good restaurtant in Vouivray and enjoye dthe first part of our trip.

We slept well in our warm and cosy room and took a great breakfast, with home made bread and jams too, then lfet refreshed and bidding farewell to our new found friends Claude and Juliette.

We will return, probably to tour the area and the local Vouvray vineyards, plus once again afew Loire Chateau.

Le Moulin des Landes is a gorgeous place to stay, all facilities are excellent and the host Gwen was extremely helpful, considering we arrived late with a badly broken windscreen (a debris hit on the motorway) Gwen rose to the occasion. Parking is easy there and gated, so our car was safe once we arrived. Gwen is bilingual English and French so she got on the phone with us and helped sort out rescue for the car. She had no worries about letting it stay there for a bit, if need be, although it was not a busy time, and was not needed. Vernou sur Brenne is a lovely village, with lots of places to taste and buy wine, however you do need a car to get around, and there is only one taxi. There is not much open, if anything, in the village in the evening, off-season anyway - so if you are going to arrive late bring food - (there is a fridge available for guests at Le Moulin) and/or be prepared to book taxis from Tours which won't be cheap. The breakfasts are excellent and it is a really beautiful place to stay and walk around. Enjoy.

We recently stayed with Florence for 2 nights while on our driving vacation in France. What a lovely lady! Good breakfast laid out in the breakfast room. Florence's mum is also a lovely & welcoming lady. We stayed in the Mountlouis room which was perfect for us. It is on the ground floor and has all you need for your basic comforts. (No need for a TV...too tired at night for that. I would suggest a 'Hotel' if you want a TV!) Florence has a fantastic undercover area to sit and relax with a tea or wine. The pool area is lovely and clean.
The garden is delightful and it is quite big if you prefer to sit around in peace with trees & the water. We drove 15 mins into Amboise for dinner the first night but there is a small and very pretty town (Vouvray) just 5 mins away by car. There you can get Pizza 'but' it is a quiet town. Amboise is a very attractive larger town with plenty of restaurants/shops/markets/tourist attractions. Sunday nights are quiet everywhere so just be sure to plan dinner for this particular night. Florence has lots of suggestions. Thanks for making us feel so welcome, Susan,Kim & Jenny (Australia)

What could Alan and Ann possibly add to all the excellent reviews.... Well, firstly, we couldn't have wished for a better place to stay for our honeymoon - albeit we wished could have stayed much longer! Our first visit to the Loire Valley and Le Moulin des Landes - and it certainly won't be our last. We stayed in the beautiful Vouvray suite. The suite was fabulous, with a lovely, spacious bedroom, bathroom and lounge area - complete with views over the gardens and River Brenne. However, the best attribute of this historic, wonderfully converted old mill is Florence, the owner and hostess - quite simply the best we have ever met. We didn't feel as if we were staying in a B&B, but more like we were sharing someone's home. Florence is a lovely, welcoming lady who can't do enough to help her guests. Add to this the truly scrumptious breakfasts, which include home made yoghurt, preserves, compotes, rillettes - not to mention fresh goat's cheese every day. Everything was delicious and fresh. The gardens and swimming pool are glorious and the surrounding area is stunning. A word of advice - you will need transport of some kind, because it is tucked away (this what also makes the place so special) - but it's not too far from the main towns of Amboise and Tours, and also some of the lovely chateaux the Loire Valley has to offer. Finally, our heartfelt thanks once again to Florence for helping to make our honeymoon very special. We will definitely be returning to this lovely place - as soon as we can!!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Le Moulin Des Landes in the Chinon Chambre. The room was 'perfect'; spacious, comfortable, spotless and with character (plus free wifi!). The hostess, Florence, is welcoming, speaks excellent english and is a source of really useful local knowledge for visits and restaurants. If you want a relaxing and comfortable way to visit the Loire then Le Moulin Des Landes provides a perfect base.
