We booked this via Travelzoo as an overnight stay on our way from South Wales to Suffolk, as it was a birthday as well.
Previous to going there, I had requested a "shower only" room as I am unable to step over a bath. The person who answered my was very helpful and offered a disabled room. However, I declined as I would hate to take that facility away from someone who needed the full facilities. When we arrived we had a room just opposite the reception That had just a shower without a bath, which was fine for me.

The room was a little chilly, even though both the radiator and towel rail were hot. That was no trouble, they found us a fan heater which was perfect. It seems to be no problem for the staff to help out with anything. We were very impressed.

The meal in the evening was very good, both in quality, price and service. The Restaurant was full, which speaks volumes! Breakfast was also of good variety and quality. Again excellent service.

One extra thing I would like to praise this establishment on, was that we were not "blasted" with music. All their clientele could hold a conversation without having to shout above music - therefore there was a nice calm ambience. Well done - don`t change this..... ever!

We will certainly be staying here again on our journeys between Wales and Suffolk.

What a fantastic find, we booked two nights B&B with Travel Zoo. From the moment we arrived Caroline and the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everyone enjoyed the ultimate customer service. I have not experienced this quality and personal type of customer experience for a long time.

The rooms were extremely comfortable with a huge bed, lovely en suite, tea, coffee and biscuits and warm as toast which was needed on a frosty December weekend and the fluffy white towels were changed daily. The breakfasts were delicious both in quality, quantity and choice. Many of the fresh fruits were grown and preserved by the hotel, the apricots were sensational. We ate out the first night and then at the hotel the second, I wish we had dined at the hotel both nights as the food was incredible.

In our opinion the restaurant deserves a Michelin Star status. We had homemade Onion Bhaji to start, I hade Chicken Cordon Bleu for mains and my husband had homade Steak & Kidney Pie both dishes tasted amazing and cooked to perfection. we were too full to eat dessert!

We highly recommend The Cartwright Hotel and look forward to returning, thank you to Caroline and staff. 😃

Two night stay at the Cartwright Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay at this pretty little hotel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, engaging and resourceful, always a smile and cheery chat. The food was exceptional for the price. In fact outstanding and we would highly recommend it to anyone touring the Cotswolds as it was within easy reach of a lot of places. They seemed to have a lot of returning business, which shows that it well run and well liked.
Although we paid for a premium room, it was a little tired and it needed attention ( especially the bathroom). Very nice tea/Coffee etc tray and generally very clean and tidy. Ample car parking.
It really is a very nice Hotel and I am sure that they are working on upgrading the rooms

A lovely hotel nestled in the beautiful village of Aynho.
We Loved it so much, the evening meal was scrumptious and well cooked. The breakfast was laid out on long tables with everything you could think of, also a cooked breakfast menu to overindulge (which we did) All the staff we’re lovely and helpful. Our large bedroom was incredible, king size bed with lovely fresh white sheets, flat screen television and even a 3 piece suite! Tea and coffee facilities. It’s ideal suited for Blenheim Palace, Bletchley Park, Oxford in fact there’s so much around there, we’ve had to book again! Can’t wait x

The Cartwright Hotel represents good value for money and thoroughly deserves its 3 star AA rating. We stayed as a birthday treat, unfortunately as most of the rooms seemed taken by a wedding party, the bar and restaurant lacked atmosphere. That being said the meal we had was very well presented and service at dinner and breakfast was excellent.

Our room was comfortable and clean but the decor and bathroom were a little dated.

We had a lovely relaxing stay and would recommend it to other visitors to Banbury area.

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights midweek at The Cartwright on a voucher deal.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and dinner was so good we dined in the restaurant every night, trying most items on the menu between us, all of which were cooked to perfection, so well done and many thanks to all the kitchen staff.
The hospitality offered by Caroline and her team was fabulous. She made time to make contact with all her guests offering friendly advice when asked and had a very positive 'anything is possible' attitude.
Her staff were equally professional and friendly which made our stay an absolute pleasure .
We would not hesitate to stay at The Cartwright again and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone staying in the Banbury area.

Friendly efficient welcome at reception. First impression of our room was that it was spacious, light and airy with a large bathroom. On further inspection the furnishings and decor appeared tired and a bit of a mishmash. No idea why there was a strange standard lamp with some missing shades stood against one wall. However the room delivered everything we needed from a comfort point of view, large comfortable bed, thick curtains to keep out early morning light, bedside tables and working bedside lights and very large, fluffy bath towels. Although it faced the road, we were not disturbed by traffic. If I had a criticism it was that the TV was too small for the size of the room so it was difficult to view in comfort from the bed but that was the only place you could really sit to watch TV. We were impressed by the quality of the food in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast. All staff were friendly and efficient and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring we were enjoying our stay. We would stay here again if we are in the area.

We stayed at the Cartwright Hotel for one night, to break up our journey. On arrival we were greeted by Caroline Parkes, who I can only describe as the "hostess with the mostes". A very lovely lady who made sure that all the guests were well looked after, with nothing being too much. Excellent food and an extensive menu. Dinner and breakfast were of a very high standard and good quality produce used in all of the dishes. A big thankyou to the chef. Also thank you to all of the staff who work well as a team alongside Caroline. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Excellent.

This was our first visit to Cartwright Hotel which we used as a base to explore the area. We were very pleased with our room in the main hotel and the charming manager, Caroline, made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.

Breakfast was excellent with a lovely selection of cereals, fruits, Greek yoghurt and hot cooked dishes and was good value for money. We were also pleased with our meals on the two nights we dined in the hotel.

It is worth noting that the hotel is located in the very pretty village of Aynho which is worth exploring on foot. We liked being away from the bustle of a big town but conveniently situated for visiting many of the attractions in the area such as Hidcote Gardens, Upton House and Stratford upon Avon.

All the young staff in the hotel are delightful and make guests feel nothing is too much trouble.

Thank you Caroline and staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Bletchley and Oxford. What a lovely old place. The room was a good size and along with the bathroom, was very clean. Tea and coffee tray. A nice shower with decent pressure and plenty of hot water.
We paid a set fee for the two nights with breakfast, dinners and tickets to Bletchley Park included and it worked out good value for the money. The breakfasts were substantial and very nicely cooked and presented. The dinners were equally excellent. We had no complaints at all about the hotel itself but the overriding benefit was the staff. From the lady who manages the place to all the waitresses - first rate. Would thoroughly recommend the Cartwright to anybody thinking of a stay in the area.

We have not stayed at the hotel but have visited many times for afternoon tea and dinner many times. The manager Caroline and her staff are most helpful and the food is outstanding. We have a family member who has tried to book a weekend several times and the hotel has always been full. That must say something.

I gave positive feedback and sent a separate email to the hotel thanking them but received no response which I was surprised at see that people only usually bother contacting to complain about something. Still, what do I know about customer service?

I know there is a fair amount of parking within the hotel's precincts but it is so easy to park at the front and that is obviously annoying the neighbours. Perhaps the proprieters need to put up new, more obvious signs indicating car parking within the property?
