We did a two night stay here in September 2020. The site is quiet, friendly and the location is incredible. There are building works going on nearby but this was only during 'working' hours so didn't impact us. The toilets and showers do their job, the washing up areas were out of action due to Covid-19 safety precautions. The site is perfect if you want a quiet break away, with incredible views and walks right on your doorstep. We took our 2 year old Boxer with us and it was great being able to take her to the adjoining field for a walk and a wee first thing in the morning. Runswick Bay beach is just gorgeous and the route back to the site is lined with some very good pubs!
we was ripped off over our deposit. Wife said we could have back.husband said no.was not willing to talk about it over the telephone .just slammed phone down while you are talking. Never met a man who is so ignorant. The man is a idiot
The place is quite basic, but very well kept. The toilet and shower block was absolutely spotless and so was the site. It is a short walk from Runswick Bay and there is I nice pub/hotel at the end of the road. The only negative is there is no view whatsoever due to hedgeing. Beyond that the views are breathtaking, a pity there in the way.
The campsite has flat pitches, nice grass and all the basic ammenties. Nothing particularly special and there is no view from the site itself. Campfires are explicitly banned but there are 3 luxury camping shacks which each have their own campfire, located in the middle of the camping field. It'd be cool if there was at least one spot for a communal fire. The location makes this place though, Runswick bay is a fantastic beach. There are 2 good pups a short walk away as well. We found the Runswick Bay Hotel to be nice and amily friendly.
The park itself really lovely and clean. Dog friendly for dogs that don,t mind being tied up, we stayed the 7th of Sept till 14th came home early because our dogs don,t like being tied up. We had a very windy and rainy week but that is not the sites fault. We are not camping people. if you are then lovely site. one niggle is that a little shop might be a good investment milk, bacon, sausage, bread local produce overall nice site...
