The room we stayed in is the one in the photo above, the Coleridge suite.

It is a lovely and sunny room overlooking the garden and courtyard so is in a quiet location.
The room is large and has a seating area with a TV.

Breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruits and a " full Welsh"

Anne and Manor are wonderful hosts and are very careful with Covid restrictions, social distancing and the need to sanitise.

The garden area is huge and beautifully landscaped.

Nether Stowey is a pretty village with wonderful rolling hills and coastal scenery and well placed for trips into Exmoor and North Devon.

All in all we would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Old House.

After lockdown a week in Housekeepers Quarters (sleeps 4 but just the two of us) was perfect. Manor and Ann (our hosts) had taken great trouble to ensure the accommodation was super-clean and conformed to all Covid-19 guidelines.

This is a perfect place for a self catering break, with brilliant walking on the doorstep (well in the Quantock Hills). Ask for tips from Manor and Ann on where to go walking etc.

All the guests have access to the magnificent Old House garden. We supped craft beer in the garden as the sun set. Glorious.

Highly recommended.

When planning our first trip away from home after the lockdown we decided that walking in the Quantock Hills would be an ideal way to ‘socially distance’.

We chose to go self catering at The Old House, Nether Stowey. The house is on the main street of the small town and the moment we arrived we were delighted to find a large courtyard for off road parking and behind that an acre of garden with lovely lawns, beautiful flowers and seating for visitors.

We were given a really warm welcome by Manor who showed us our accommodation - the Stable Cottage, a converted stable with delightful country cottage décor including original beams. The cottage had everything we needed and the location was an ideal starting point for our walks.

I would highly recommend The Old House and hope to make a return visit in the future.

These beautiful cottages are well worth a visit. They are beautifully kept and sit in an acre of immaculate gardens which we were encouraged to use. They sit in a beautiful village with many walks nearby and some beautiful places to visit such as Watchet, Dunster and over Exmoor to Lynton and Lynmouth.
There is a local village pub within easy walking distance but also many other lovely country pubs within a few miles. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The old house is a great little B&B that isn't so little!. We had the Coleridge room that was very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities required. Breakfast was served in the main house and was cooked to order and used the best of local ingredients. The grounds of the old house are fantastic and a lovely place to sit and read. The owners - Ann and Manor were helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and pointed us to some great sight seeing locations and eateries.

A very spacious B and B, its a fabulous find nestled away in nether Stowey. The B and B has spacious rooms and a grand dining room. The beautifully manicured gardens are supplemented by fantastic hosts with an amazing breakfast selection with fantastic local products. We stayed for a wedding happening locally and recommend everyone who is considering staying should book.

We have just returned from an excellent week’s holiday at the Old House in Nether Stowey run by Manor and Ann. The booking options comprise two cottages and other accommodation. We stayed in the Garden Wing and our friends in Stable Cottage. The walled garden is unbelievable...approximately 1 acre of peaceful serenity where one can relax and let life drift slowly by.
Manor and Ann are superb hosts and advised us on local beauty spots, interesting walks and good hostelries to eat out in the evening. (The Hood Arms in Kilve and the Plough in Holford are both worth a visit). There is also a local pub in the village within walking distance that serves good pub grub.
This holiday accommodation is exceptional and quite possibly unique. A gem in Somerset, located approximately 11m North of Taunton.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The bed and breakfast are incredibly kind, attentive and friendly hosts who did everything they could to make our stay memorable and pleasant. The old house is delightful, the garden is fabulous and immense and there are really beautiful walks in every direction. A really great stay.

Like many others, we came to Nether Stowey in pursuit of Coleridge, and the Old House was a convenient base for exploring the area. The rooms we had were beautiful, and beautifully kept. There was even some appropriate - and very well chosen - reading matter, books, guides to the area. The host was faultless in looking after us, giving us advice about the local walks, restaurants, etc. The breakfasts alone were worth the price of staying.

The rooms were absolutely lovely. The breakfast superb. The garden was beautiful an enormous. Loads of walks in the Quantock hills or along the beaches which were within easy driving distance.

Manor and Ann were absolutely lovely. Truly went above and beyond from spot on suggestions for what to do for the day or suggesting lending us their BBQ at a moments notice.

Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet weekend away.
