House so comfortable, everything top quality from bed linen to furnishings. ( unlike other money grubbing holiday homes which charge for hiring towels etc ). Lovely garden, fabulous views .. Donkeys, rabbits, Shep the Collie Dog, swings for the children. Such a sweet cottage and a wonderful host Agnes. Scones and Jam for us on arrival. We were so lucky...

Ahakista is a tiny village (barely a village, in fact) half-way along the Sheep's Head Peninsula in West Cork. For many years Agnes Hegarty has run Hillcrest as a welcoming and comfortable B&B with a self-catering side too. At some periods it may be running only as self-catering -- ring and ask. If you want to be near the bright...

I stayed for four nights with two family members in the self contained cottage about 100 metres from the main house. While not an ultra modern home it was quaint with three bedrooms and two bathrooms , extremely comfortable and had all we would need. There were views of the bay from the lounge room. Plenty of room for our...

We wanted a quaint and peaceful place to stay for our first trip to Ireland and that is exactly what we found at Hillcrest Farm. Agnes was so welcoming and very informative on places to visit. Breakfast was extremely enjoyable. We explored by car and on foot and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Went sailing one afternoon and had a fabulous...

We had a great week as a family at Hillcrest Farm. Agnes Hegarty is a great host and gave us a lot of very useful advice for our stay. Sheeps Head peninsula is a very nice and quiet area, with not many tourists, still not far away from some main attractions like Cork, Ring of Beara, Ring of Kerry etc....

This is a very comfortable and relaxing B & B to spend some time and just relax. We took several day trips to neighboring penisulas and it was very enjoyable. We took the ferry to Garnish Island and spent a couple of hours walking the beautiful island. It was a treat to watch the seals from the ferry as they...

We were lucky to get a cancelation for the June Bank Holiday. Wonderful location, smart comfortable rooms and a feeling of being at home. Nothing seemed too much trouble and even with a huge family wedding nearby ( which only added to the sence of occasion) we couldn't have asked for better hosts. I cannot imagine anyone finding fault with...

We stayed at Hillcrest at the beginning of our month in Ireland. What a great beginning! Wonderful B&B! Agnes is a true gem with her knowledge of the are and her personal touches. Sheepshead and Hillcrest WILL be our first stop in a return to Ireland!

Stayed here for 3 nights end July 2009. Ensuite room nicely decorated with kettle, tea, coffee etc available. Would recommend asking for downstairs room with access to garden as these 3 rooms have patio outside with table and chairs. Beautiful garden and stunning view from front of house to pier at Ahakista. Breakfast gets full marks. Music in Tin Pub...

Do wake up early to see the most beautiful sunrises to compare with any in the world. I took lots of pictures. (The donkeys are glad to see you that early in the mornin' too) Joe and Aggie are wonderful hosts. We were fortunate enough to meet some of their family who were there for their anniversary and they invited...
