Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great stay at the Cowshed. Everything, including the beds, is super comfortable. Decor is fun and quirky with oodles of personal touches (fresh flowers, milk in the fridge, Nespresso pods etc). We were a party of 4 and there was plenty of room for us all, the bed in the loft room was equally comfy to the one downstairs and shutters/curtains provided for privacy between the two spaces. It was quite hot and stuffy when we arrived but quickly cooled with windows open and fan on. Outside space was lovely for enjoying breakfast in the sunshine.

We loved our stay in The Nest. It was clean, super cosy, has the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in and the outside tub was great to lay back in! Highly recommend for a getaway, it’s very well equipped and correspondence with Rachael was excellent.

We stayed in the bath house, absolutely gorgeous. The bath is amazing and the loft bedroom was beautiful. Excellent communication from the manager and a lovely welcome note. Bath products smell fantastic and are sourced from an independent supplier. Situated in a lovely town, with all the amenities you would need. Excellent couples retreat!! 😉

This place is incredible a perfect place for a quiet and relaxing couple of days away. We absolutely loved it! We stayed in The Nest and it was so cosy and beautifully decorated. There are fantastic walks in the local area and lovely pubs. It was an amazing and much needed break. Thank you!

What an amazing couple of nights away for Valentine’s Day. We stayed in The Nest and everything about it was perfection. If you’re looking for a little romantic break then look no further. The surroundings, the decor, the 5* comfort, it really was magical.

Thankyou for your lovely review. We have had over 100 wedding proposals at Cheshire Boutique Barns so we feel that The Nest Barnlette, The Cowshed and The Old Parlour barn, although all uniquely different from one another, are all the perfect place to celebrate Valentines Day! Roll top baths, mezzanine bedrooms, real fires, spa treatments and a range of special VIP treats such as a champagne candlelit arrival, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a barn filled with red love heart helium balloons and many more all help to make memories for life! We really hope we can welcome you back again soon and now we have a brand new town based offering too - Cheshire Boutique Bathhouse! - just opened!

Just had one of my most favourite nights of my WHOLE LIFE at The Old Parlour, I can't quite describe the feeling of walking into the barn, log burner on, music playing, it smelling absolutely gorgeous etc. etc. etc. The attention to detail is second to none and I genuinely would not change a thing. There is so much information inside the barns about how to use its various features, and also lots about what there is to do in the local area too. I could have stayed here WEEKS. There's everything you need. The outdoor bath is as amazing as I thought it would be and then some, the beds are super comfy and the whole place is just so cosy that I was the most relaxed I've been in a long long time. Thank you so so so much, I would recommend to absolutely anyone looking for a really special time away ♥️♥️♥️

The accommodation is amazing. All three rooms offer something different but also something special. The layout has been very well thought out and the balcony bedrooms are amazing. The location, being in the countryside is slightly remote, but this just adds to the romance of the properties.

Thank you for your review. We are lucky enough to be located in some of Cheshire's most peaceful and prettiest rolling countryside but also love the fact that one of the best pubs (Voted Best Rural Pub in UK and Best Gin Pub 2022) is just up the lane! We are also so well located for getting to the beautiful walled Roman City of Chester and also Shrewsbury in under 30 mins and Manchester and liverpool under an hour.

Just returned from a 2-night stay in the Old Parlour and can’t recommend these barns highly enough. I booked the stay to celebrate my partner’s 40th birthday and it was truly special. The barn was superbly appointed, with many lovely small touches (fresh milk and chilled water in fridge on arrival; candle tea-lights lit throughout; fresh flowers in kitchen and lounge areas). I booked a couple of VIP extras ahead of arrival and they didn’t disappoint…flowers, chocolates and chilled champagne along with a scattering of heart-shaped balloons. All tastefully done. We explored the local area (would recommend the Cholmondeley Arms and Churche’s Mansion for food and hospitality) but also made time to enjoy the barn and all it had to offer…the private outdoor space was a joy, particularly the ‘outdoor’ bath. All-in-all a memorable stay in a beautiful part of the country made all the more special by spending at this excellent accommodation… can’t wait to visit these barns again!

What a gem of a place in our beautiful Cheshire countryside. We had a wonderful two night stay in the Cowshed. Sumptuously appointed, super comfy and relaxing, we loved every minute. The attention to detail is second to none. We enjoyed paddleboarding at nearby Alderford lake, a walk along the canal, dinner at the Dusty Miller and an afternoon in the sundrenched beer garden at the Cotton Arms - both within walking distance. We cannot recommend a stay here highly enough ❤
