It’s tough to decide upon your hotel via blogs, reviews and research, but we struck gold by choosing the Verina Terra. It was intimate, casual, beautiful, charming and incredibly welcoming. Great for couples, friends or families-Imagine less than a dozen other guestrooms all in bungalow type living surrounded by Bougainvillea and beautiful gardens. The center of the property is a simple yet perfectly situated bar and small kitchen that delivers extraordinary food including a complimentary breakfast and excellent hand-made cocktails. The shaded dining area drops into a lovely pool with comfty shaded couches and umbrella sun-deck seating. The entire staff feels like family, and you get to know them very quickly. They are available, gracious, friendly yet never intrusive. We had a great collection of other guests from many different countries who would share stories of their island excursions over breakfast. It was a magical setting and a lovely place to spend five nights. Our room was one of the smaller rooms yet still ample for my husband and myself, with a lovely little terrace. We had a car, which I would recommend because this beach location is at the bottom of the island and you want to be able to visit everything. However, I understand the bus system is quite good and our beach in front of the hotel had a fabulous choices of restaurants so you really could just stay and do nothing if you chose. We did go to the sister property, Verina Astro, for dinner one night and it was an entirely different feeling. It was lovely to see and we enjoyed dinner at their fabulous restaurant, but I am so glad that we chose the more casual vibe of Verina Terra for our vacation!

My wife and I have just completed a wonderful 10 day visit to Sifnos where we stayed at the absolutely fantastic Verina Terrace, Platys Gialos.
The hotel was recommended to us by our terrific travel agent - Visions Holidays Group - as they knew that my wife and I wanted to stay at a high class boutique hotel within easy walking distance of tavernas / restaurants and close to a beach. They couldn’t have recommended anywhere better for our requirements.
The hotel has less than 15 rooms / suites all of which are well equipped with the buildings only having a maximum 10 steps to reach the 1st floor rooms.
The hotel has a great pool and offers shaded sun beds and day beds. Towels are provided by the pool which is cleaned daily. Breakfasts are outstanding and served on the terrace by the pool. The menu choices are extensive and all breakfast dishes made to order. The excellent beach is situated within 50 metres from the hotel. All tavernas / restaurants are within an easy 10 minute walk.
The Verina Terra staff are all extremely friendly and consistently deliver a very high standard of service. Particular mention must go to: Katerina, Anna-Marie, Vangelis, Iena, Atif and Savannas.
My wife and I have been regular visitors to Greece for 40 years. The Platys Gialos resort with its excellent sandy beach, very clear water and around 12 tavernas / restaurants, together with the wonderful Verina Terra hotel are now our ‘Number 1’.
We would strongly recommend all lovers of Greece to consider Sifnos, Platys Gialos and Verina Terra for their next vacation,

We travelled via Athens to Sifnos on 27 August this year. As soon as you reach this lovely hotel, you feel all your stress disappearing. The welcome from the whole team from Katerina, Irene, Julien and George made you feel that you were in for a wonderful break. Service superb with an amazing breakfast. The pool area was perfect with sun beds and also large settees under canopies if the sun was too hot. Just a walk across the road you were on the beach with restaurants and cafes along the cove. This is a small hotel consisting of suites that are presented to a high standard and are spotless. Definitely would go back as the island is unspoilt . Thank you Team Verina for making our vacation a dream.

We stayed at this nice hotel in Platy Gialos. It is a nice hotel with medium service and it is overpriced. Rooms are clean and nice. View to the mountains not to the ocean.
Breakfast is good, Pool area is good as well. Pool not luxury but nice.
Prices are too high for the level you can expect. There is only your room, breakfast from 8.30-11.00, the pool area with sunbeds, table tennis and kicker.
Avocado or Bacon is 4€ extra each at breakfast Breakfast tastes good.
Extra wishes are not easy to fullfill for the hotel. Our ferry was at 8:50 so we told the Reservation manager if we can get breakfast at 7:00. Thats not possible cause kitchen opens at 8:30. Tea, orange juice, cakes and jam we can get served. One day before departure we told the service that we have to leave at 8:00 next morning. To remember that we want some tea and orange juice and cakes and jam at 7:30. But till 7:50 no one was around. So we left. The key we left in our room. No one around for checkout and the wishes for earlier breakfast was too high for the hotel.
All in all everything is okay here but dont expect too much in service and hospitality. For what you will get, prices are too high and we stayed in better places in greece where you will get more for the money

This is a small boutique hotel in central Platis Gialos right across the street from the beach. It's low key and casual with a nice pool, restaurant (with an excellent breakfast) and bar. Only a couple minutes walks to all the restaurants in Platis Gialos. The room was lovely light, bright and comfortable with views of the local mountains. They included 2 large bottles of water every day which is always a welcome plus in Greece. We came in early September so the island was not very crowded and it was a perfect home base to explore the island.

We had a fantastic time at Verina Terra. An amazing hotel; stylish luxurious and private rooms. A unique location 20 meters from the beach (blue waters, sandy and all around breathtaking views) and various fantastic beachbars and restaurants (you’ll be spoiled for choice). But what makes this hotel exceptional is the staff!! Katerina makes you feel welcome, provides great tips and goes beyond to make your stay so relaxed. Julian and Irene serve the amazing breakfast and food always with a smile and very attentive. The chef makes everything fresh & super tasty and on top of that is a fantastic baker! And then of course there is the great bar for those sundowners and pool drinks. We will be back here for sure!!

Many thanks to Katerina, who managed to save our cancelled 2020 stay in this peaceful and beautiful property. Her welcome, warmth and help made us feel visiting family in Greece. Very professional, as well as the entire team. High quality, diverse and generous breakfast, prepared à la carte. We loved it! The property is very well maintained, inside and outside and just next to the lovely sandy beach and close to a number of outstanding beach restaurants. We fell in love with Sifnos and our stay at Verina contributed a lot to that. A place to go back!!

We spent 3 days. Excellent experience (our baseline is 4/5 stars hotels). The room was very clean and cleaned during our breakfast (this is something that could be done because of the small size of the hotel). The hotel is very quiet, the sitting outdoor very nice, the pool not crowded and the beach was one min walk. The way we have been welcomed, the professionalism of the very nice staff made us feel very comfortable. The homemade food (bread, cakes, jam, buns....) was the cherry on the cake.

The Verina Terra Hotel is a beautiful property across the street from the beach. There is no sea view but we loved our sunlit room (3B) on the upper floor with it's muted colors, linen fabrics and bougainvillea covered patio. I couldn't get enough of the 3 adorable kittens that greeted us daily. The staff is professional and responded promptly and helpfully to any question. A tasty breakfast is included (although 8:30 is a little late for me). I would have liked a happy hour or soft music by the pool but I think others prefer the quietude of Sifnos. Nice to walk to restaurants. We enjoyed Yalos down the street and Oceania at Vathy beach for lunch.

We had such an amazing time here. The staff were super friendly, the food and cocktails by the pool were to die for and the rooms very comfortable with a private terrace to relax after a day exploring or lying by the pool. It's right by one of the best beaches of the island with plenty of dining options around. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a base to stay whilst exploring the beautiful island thaf is Sifnos.
