We decided to stay here because it is close to the park entrance. Also, the reviews were quite good. And all well deserved. We stayed two nights and did two gorilla treks. We should have stayed a third night. After our last trek (we are both 65+) we were so exhausted all we wanted was a shower and a bed...

After traveling for 3 weeks in Uganda and Rwanda and not seeing anyone smoking at any lodge, I was surprised to see ashtrays all over the only outdoor common area. Fortunately there were no guests who smoked during our visit or we would have had to leave the area. At all of our other lodges smoking was not allowed in...

Dear Rich, Thank you for your review we appreciate your valuable feedback of your stay with us at Sabyinyo. We are so sorry that both the ornamental ashtrays on the veranda caused you distress. As soon as we arrived we felt the fake attitude of the staff in general. Everyone seem to be looking for a tip and not looking after the comfort of us as guests. Food and restaurant were substandard (for price and comparing the region). Selection of teas despite being in a tea growing area was awful. Cleaning staff had little...

Dear Francisco, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We apologise you did not find the lodge up to standard and felt the staff attitude was fake. We have passed your feedback onto the lodge manager who will look into it. We really hope that none of this took away from enjoying your Gorilla experience and...

We came to Sabyinyo to see the gorillas (which were amazing) but the Silverback Lodge was a treat too. The rooms (individual bungalows) are beautiful and luxurious. The food is wonderful. Even better was the warm, friendly way we were treated by everyone on the staff. The trek to see the gorillas was strenuous for us so it was heaven...

We stayed two nights, waking up at dawn to the beautiful Sabyinyo mountain at our cabin/room door and a fresh coffee delivered by Fidel, the butler. And a real log fire in our huge room in the evenings kept us nice and cosy. Real service with a smile: the staff were all really lovely and so helpful and told us...

We stayed two nights here, a great base for the gorilla trek which is a relatively short drive away. The area is a 2.5 hour drive from Kigali airport so be prepared for that, including some rough roads. The lodge is set on a hill which affords great views of the surrounding volcanoes which give the national park its name....

We had one cottage and one suite over Christmas 2016. It was amazing. The rooms are enormous and each come with a dedicated butler. The service was good and friendly. The villa was a bit cold during the night even there is a fireplace. So take your pyjamas with you.
