Having been given a short break for Christmas, we found a place in Dorset, what a place. The Chetnole Inn is a little gem and we will definitely be returning. The room the Henchard( Mayor of Casterbridge) was cosy and comfortable with a great view. Food was great with Simon cooking the first night and Matt the second the choice...

We stayed here when we attended a friend's wedding. This place is a real treat if you want comfort and great service. The pub has a good range of local beer. Maria and Simon made us feel very welcome. The bedroom was large and comfortable overlooking a lovely quiet churchyard and don't miss the breakfast - all the food is...

This wonderful Inn is an absolute gem. We had a lovely warm welcome from the hosts Simon and Maria who showed us to the Hardy room. The room was large, well appointed and beautifully clean with a lovely view of the village church. After a very good nights sleep we were treated to a sumptuous breakfast cooked by Simon. The...

It is our local pub. A group of us went there for lunch recently. My husband ordered my main, but I forgot to tell him I had changed my mind!! I asked the publican if I could possibly change it - obviously it was a big ask - he didn't even pause - just gave me what I wanted -...

Stayed four nights recently, taking the Hardy and Tess rooms. Both are well appointed and spacious, particularly Hardy. Breakfasts are plentiful and varied. The dinner menu is good with the food very well prepared and presented. There is a good selection of beers and a reasonable wine list for a pub restaurant. Hosts Maria and Simon are friendly but run...

I booked a table for four for Sunday Lunch on the Saturday we arrived in Chetnole for a weeks walking holiday. We suggested 14.00 hrs to the man that took the booking, he said it was fine. We set off for a walk on the Sunday morning, and had a lovely time walking across the Dorset countryside, when we arrived...

I woud like to clarify and explain some of the points made above if I may. Our opening times for food on a Sunday and infact every day during the week are 12pm untill 2pm. When the above table rang to book, they were told by Simon my husband that this was the latest time they could have. The above...

It's always been a good venue in the years I've been going there but the current team have been incrementally improving things in the last year - always the best way of going about it in my opinion. Good choice of ales (I particularly look forward to having the Yeovil Brewery beers), and a good solid menu - for a...

Amazing accommodation, lovely big room, great shower, wonderful food, lovely hosts, highly recommended. We decided last minute to have a break and found this on Trip Advisor. Maria and Simon were very welcoming, we liked the fact that we could check in at 12, so it gave us the whole afternoon to go out and about. We had a very...

We randomly found this gem when traveling through Dorset and I said we will stop for food at the next place signposted. The food was lovely, especially the ginger sponge pudding! Service friendly and fast, there was nothing to find fault with.
