My wife and I stayed at Bridge House for two nights last month (20/21.10.16) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The large room we had on the top floor was very comfortable and looked out in two directions, providing lovely views with the main one over the nearby River Swale and the hills beyond. John Slater, the owner, looked after us...

Booked for one night as we should have been walking the Herriot Way; A lovely B & B with friendly, welcoming hosts, huge room, warm and comfortable .. Homemade biscuits with tea, coffee and cocoa in room plus John brought us fresh milk without asking. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious too: fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and of course a delicious...

A very friendly B and B with a delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms and good value for money. Lovely walks on the doorstep. Very helpful owners, No TV in rooms which we thought was a bonus. A good pub very close by.

A beautiful room, well appointed, warm, and tastefully decorated. I felt quite at home here. John and Ann have a lovely way of being attentive without being fussy or intrusive. Just the way I like to be spoiled! I only stayed one night but left feeling I'd made two friends. A perfect stop for any reason, but I was doing...

We stayed for one night and John was superb as a host. Fresh biscuits and milk in our room and a generous sized room. Bed was very comfortable and the room was lovely and warm. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone and hope to be back in the future.

Nothing was too much trouble including sorting out our packed lunch the next day. Johns home made bread is delicious as sandwich or toast. Lovely big room on the top floor. Loved the oversized armchair! Lovely breakfast and v friendly hosts too.

Very comfortable Bed & Breakfast in a beautiful area with a wonderfully helpful host. Nothing was too much trouble for John. He made us feel very welcome. It's situated in a walker's paradise area, there are so many great walks of all levels around there.

John picked us up from Thwaite after having crossed the Great Shunner Fell from Hawes on the Herriot´s Way. Bridge House is lovely and very much appreciated after a day´s walking. John is very helpful on alternative routes which we took on our next day to Reeth. Breakfast was gorgeous & wholesome for a day´s walking. It was lovely to...

Arrived after a day in the rain on the C2C. John could not have been more helpful, arranging for all our wet clothes to dry for the next day. We had the large double room with en suite, on the top floor which provides the letting accommodation. Comfortable bed, good shower and a first class breakfast the following morning before...

Well what can I say, having read previous reviews of bridge house I can only assume the authors have not visited many other B&B's, or I am simply over critical. The house itself is in a good location and the owner mild mannered and friendly, however any proprietor that thinks two dining room chairs are suitable substitutes for bed side...
