Camp site is in a beautiful countryside location near a picturesque stream on the outskirts of Muker village, expanding over a choice of three fields.
The toilet and washing/shower facilities were immaculate and easy accessable and during our two night stay, Tuesday and Wednesday 8 & 9th June were used lightly.
The host, Louise Metcalf is such a pleasant and helpful person in a natural and easy manner, nothing is an inconvenience to her. She certainly assisted my wife and I above the call of conducting a busy business (thankyou again Louise).
We would certainly recommend this camping venue, tents and vans, motor bikers and cars all are there and welcome.

We stayed for 3 nights towards the end of July.

The location is just beautiful, however not for you if you want access to supermarkets or a guaranteed phone signal.

The shower block and washing up area are very good and were always clean and had hot water, for the duration of our stay regardless of what time we used them.

The shop on site has a few essentials including logs, kindling and provisions, including their own meat, and also meat from a local butcher in Masham. We tried some of their own lamb and Rosemary burgers and their beef & caramelised onion burgers. Both were gorgeous…..we highly recommend them!

There is a no noise policy 22:00hrs to 08:00hrs and everyone adhered to this during our stay which was great.

This place has everything right…..free showers, free fire pits to borrow, free Wi-fi, free charging of mobiles, tablets, battery packs etc (although you can make a donation to charity if you wish) There was even washing up liquid and surface wipes for your own use in the washing up area.

If you like walking, we did one of the walks listed on the campsite website……Muker to Keld and back via the top of Kisdon (approx 6 miles) the views are just stunning!!

Hawes is approximately 20 minutes drive away over the the top, past the Buttertubs where you will find a few shops and pubs if that’s what you fancy.

Louise and her family are doing an excellent job, are very welcoming, and we will definitely be visiting again.

This is frankly one of the best campsites that I've ever visited. I'm a fairly experienced camper, having been both to expensive glamping sites and fundamental spots with no toilets or showers. Just the week that I went here, I'd been backpacking to a variety of locations and I've been to numerous other campsites in the past. This one was not only one of the cheaper, but it was also one of the best facilitated. I wouldn't say that it went into glamping, which for some may ruin the experience of the outdoors, but it did have every amenity that one may require. The staff were immediately very helpful and while they were out at our arrival, signs indicated permission to pitch our tents until their return, which wasn't excessively long, meaning that we didn't have to wait unnecessarily. The reception was well fitted with a shop and the area is beautiful. It's a fabulous spot at the start of the River Swale in Swaledale, surrounded by a number of beautiful hills over which my girlfriend and I, backpacking through the area, hiked the surrounding days. While we did only stay the night, not being present for long, I would happily return here for a number of days. Despite not being packed with activities in the immediately local area, there are enjoyable days for the family all around the region and even surrounding it, the number of options for walks was perfect. Our pitch was beside a stream that had fences to prevent access by younger children if necessary, but a style to allow access to use it when required. The toilets and showers were definitely the cleanest that I've used with a mop present, which didn't even end up being required, for the showers. The toilets were impeccable too. Personally, I'm quite happy to manage dirty stuff if it makes things cheaper, but when I get perfectly clean facilities without compromising on price as noted earlier, that's even better. It even had a fridge and great washing up facilities alongside a set of leaflets for surrounding activities and local history signs. Obviously, all standards expectations were fulfilled too like running water and, well, the fields, which were expansive enough to provide room without feeling as though you were at a festival. Overall, I've no criticisms: I'm happy with whatever a campsite provides as long as there's a field basically, but this was definitely a bonus example of perfection for the week after a series of very difficult days walking.

Lovely campsite on a working farm at the head of Swaledale. Spread over 2/3 fields the campsite is set in the valley bottom surrounded by the North Pennine hills and small farming communities. The valley road separates one small field from the two larger fields next to the campsite. Toilets, showers and drying facilities are clean and well kept and are located in the old cow barn which has been modernised. Hot showers available. There is also a small shop which sticks a few basics plus farm meat in the freezer. Very friendly owners. No hard standing so be aware of this in wet weather. Local village with pub ( very busy so you need to book) about 10 mins walk down the valley. Excellent location for serous cycling up the Pennine climbs, ie it sits at the bottom of the Buttertubs Cat 3 climb and also routes across the exposed and lonely hills to Tan Hill. Great cycling but with serious edge as very wild and lonely. Good location for walking on hills too.

This place is phenomenal. My first visit to the Dales and it did not disappoint. Travelled over buttertubs pass to get here and there aren’t enough adjectives to describe how amazing that drive was! This site has everything. Some of the best views I’ve ever seen being number one. In addition, the facilities block has everything you need, clean loos, hot clean showers, washing up area, communal fridge/freezer, outside hot and cold running water, free use of washing machine, drying room, shop with absolutely everything you could need including plenty of meat. There is absolutely nothing I can fault about this site. Perfectly situated for incredible walks. Be aware there is absolutely no phone signal whatsoever, but there is free WiFi. (Signal is a bit patchy, but incredibly grateful for it). One of the best places I’ve ever stayed.

Just returned from an amazing few days camping at Usha Gap Campsite, we honestly can not recommend this place enough!
From the original booking and contact with Louise we were impressed no end. With fabulous weather we arrived around lunchtime, the policy Usha Gap campsite has is no set check-in or check-out times which is brilliant.
We arrived to a lovely warm welcome and checked in with Louise in reception, given our choice of 3 separate fields and no set pitches means we had the choice of where we pitched our tent.
The camping fields are beautifully kept and spacious with plenty space for all size tents and campers.
The free use of Usha Gaps fire pits is a nice touch and came in very handy.
The facilities were immaculate and always available, a small shop in reception has everything you could need for a few days camping, the showers and toilets were always clean and with plenty hot water!
The views from Usha Gap are stunning in all directions, set in a valley with green fields and hills as far as the eye can see, a nice little walk along to Muker and you can find a lovely pub for a few drinks and lovely food.
A great base for walkers/hikers/bikers and we will certainly be returning time and time again!
Highly recommend Usha Gap Campsite to anyone thinking of camping in the Yorkshire Dales!

We've done a lot of camping as a family this summer and Usha Gap is by far the cleanest site we have visited. Louise is a fab host and was more than helpful all the way through from our initial booking request to welcoming us on site. The site is set up perfectly to allow for social distancing and is kept really clean. There's a nice walk through the fields at the top of the site leading to the village of Muker where there's a shop and pub. It's close to the river swale too which is great for paddling and playing and kept the kids entertained. Lovely place for cycling too!

I am a single female camper and I stayed at Usha Gap for 9 nights in September 2021 with my dog. This has to be one of the best sites I have stayed at for a long time. Firstly the location. Lovely views, great walk right from the site, village with a shop and good pub 10 mins walk away across fields and easy reach of the best of the Dales and the Lake District.
Secondly the facilities; clean and modern shower and toilet block, washing up room, free use of fridge freezer, free charging lockers for phones etc., no phone signal but free WiFi all over the site, drying room with washing machine, chemical toilet emptying point and a well stocked shop with local sausages and burgers you can cook on a fire pit.
You can choose your own pitch in a choice of 3 fields, lots of space but gets busier at the weekends.
Thank you so much Louise and family for a fantastic break, I will be back in the Spring.

A great, family friendly campsite set in a beautiful part of the Country. The site is clean with all the facilities you would need including charging points, laundry room and use of a fridge and freezer. The best part of this site is that you can pitch your tent anywhere with no limit on space. Louise was helpful and friendly and gave good advice on places to go. The nearby pub in Muker served delicious food and there is lots to do in the local area. Would definitely recommend this campsite to campers who value peaceful nights, excellent facilities and beautiful scenery.

Loved my stay here despite the awful weather! Wonderful walks in every direction, campsite very peaceful, well organised and well equipped. Facilities were spotlessly clean. The drying room and hot showers with underfloor heating were particularly welcome.
